Awful disease cancer is, takes the best of people daily. It terrifies me tbh. God bless Kev, keep fighting, sir, if your fight is anywhere near as good as you were at football, hopefully he can beat it. Ps don't know if it's terminal or not as just finding out reading this post.

I remember working Keegan when he launched the football school at Braehead many years ago.

Cancer is brutal.
We probably all know someone that's gone through it, and the worst part is that the person you know at the start is a shadow of themself at the end.

Absolutely, Gaz
Unfortunately for me and family as late as last night. ?

Would not wish it on anyone, it's horrific to try and help/nurse when every shift in position is agony, every breath is sharp, and it's someone you love, anger and rage at the futility of it all that can't be shown to the person who is blighted by this b****** of a disease, they need to draw strength from you to fight, the courage on display is usually the one that's fighting, inside you crumble but are full of admiration for the fight they give.
God bless anyone affected by this. ?

Sorry to hear that Stig.
Best thing you can do is be there and stay strong!
Don't forget about yourself though, mate, take some time and talk to friends and family when it gets a bit rough.

Sorry to hear that Stig. ?

Thoughts with him and his family, and anyone else going thru it just now.

Couldn't agree more with what everyone has commented. It knows no boundaries, my dad and his siblings, my mum, my sister, my son and my partner have all come up against it. Some won the fight, most didn't, and some are still fighting.

So so sorry to hear that, Thestigno1. ?? You and all your family members are all in my thoughts, my friend. God bless and take care. ??

As a guy who works with cancer every Monday through Friday, I concur it is a horrible disease and, when all we have going on is a few transfer flops and disappointing seasons, we really need to take a moment to realise how good we have it.
Stig, not that I expect offers of condolence to lift you, but one thing I will say, and I think it's the most important part of being bereaved, and it does take time to get there, is to remember the person you've lost not as they were at the end but for who they were, what they did, what they brought to your life, any lessons they gave you, and if there are particular characteristics they possessed that you'll miss, try to pick them up.
What I mean by characteristics is, like, I lost my gran (who was like a mother) to liver cancer in her 50's and I was 19. I was a bad tempered wee bampot, and I always admired her patience. Now, I'm not quite a zen Buddha, but I'm a hell of a lot more compassionate, empathetic, and patient because of who she was and who that made me want to be.
