Yes Shanks for captain for me. ??

31 May 2026 18:17:41
As I said before, I always prefer a defender or midfielder to be our captain, but Shankland absolutely ticks every box for me, and I would be ?% behind any decision to make Lawrence Shankland our new Rangers captain. ??? If we can, hopefully sign Lewis Ferguson, I'd make one of them captain and the other our vice captain. ???

As things stand, I would say he is in pole position, but it will depend on who else joins the race and makes a late dash for the armband. Suspect there will be some other contenders before the window closes.

Nope, don't like strikers being captain.

31 May 2026 20:30:24
McInnes may disagree with you on that one. He does have leaders' qualities, and does spend time in the defensive areas as well as in the opposing half. But each to their own.

No, for the simple reason he might be a complete failure.

When Bruno Alves signed for Rangers, people wanted to make him captain. He was playing for Portugal, good age, won leagues in multiple countries, but he was a failure for Rangers. Giving the armband to someone who hasn't kicked a ball for Rangers is a very risky thing to do.

Some might say he's proven in our league. So was Miovski.

The armband should be given to someone who is already established at the club and is a total professional both on and off the pitch. I wouldn't even give it to Raskin because he will down tools as soon as things don't go his way.

Are we convinced here that Shankland's going to start every game?

31 May 2026 21:38:00
Like who then, Rohl? Who at the club is a captain? I'll answer for you, absolutely none of them.

31 May 2026 22:18:56
You don't know what the answer is, Wishy. You're just sharing your opinion. The next Rangers captain might already be at the club. It'll be for Danny Rohl to decide.

It may well be Shankland. I'm just pointing out the flaws in that thinking.

Shankland might be a failure at Rangers. Rangers might even play one up top next season, and Chermiti might be the standout striker, meaning Shankland doesn't even play regularly. The captain needs to play regularly.

Captain would be Ferguson for me. Vc Shanks.

01 Jun 2026 07:50:12
Nope to both, Rommens for me, he's a crabbit so n so and will have a go.

01 Jun 2026 08:14:34
I prefer the captain to see the game in front of them. Should be one of the back line players, imo.

I think we will bring in a captain, as I don't think any of the current squad can do that job well. If it is Shankland, then ok, but wouldn't be ideal imo.

01 Jun 2026 09:15:46
Lewis Ferguson will be the Rangers captain next season Shankland vice.

Err, Butcher, Gough, Weir, Davis, Many others

Might also have been " total failures "

Don't understand that as a reason not to give an experienced captain the armband, why sign him, because he could be a total failure

Why sign anyone in fact
