Hopefully Tavernier gets a new contract he is my favourite player. i know his legs are gone, but he is still useful with 20 mins to go in a match. it would make sense if he agreed to something like 20k a week. It's still higher than what the average person makes.

01 Apr 2026 18:03:09
No thank you. He has been a great servant for the club and a bargain in terms of fee, but, by your own admission, his legs are gone.

No way should we be paying someone £20, 000 per week for 20 minutes here and there.

I want players in all positions who are capable of playing 90+ minutes.

01 Apr 2026 18:11:28
No, from me, he needs replaced, which should have happened a couple of years ago.

01 Apr 2026 18:21:22
I would hope we do keep Tav on a much reduced playing time and drop in wages. ? Tav can be crucial to have to cover injuries and bring on in certain games if we're not winning, and of course his massive experience that can be called upon within our first team squad.

? A new 1 year deal for me, and he's never injured and can be relied on. ? ??

01 Apr 2026 18:33:05
Aphe,
Tav's been more fit and available to play 90+ minutes than Sterling has been.
I'd be offering a 1 year contract on reduced terms but looking to sign a younger player to compete with him in the meantime.

01 Apr 2026 18:35:34
Nope, thanks and fare thee well. ?

01 Apr 2026 18:36:31
Only if we win the league. He would be a valuable asset we could afford, especially in Europe. But obviously not as a starter, every team needs a Tav who knows the ropes and can guide the new incomings and upcoming youths forward. But if we lose this title then it's a new captain and permanent right back with the same skills as Rommens.

01 Apr 2026 18:39:50
I'd be happy to pay Tav £20m a week, but I think we should offer a basic of £15k and £5k bonus if he plays 1 match per week.

Tav's definitely a good alternative to have, especially if we want to go back 3 mid match.

He wouldn't be my first choice next season, but he's a good back up.

01 Apr 2026 18:40:12
CO2, I have been open with my desire to possibly have 2 new right backs for next season.

01 Apr 2026 19:05:34
I wouldn't even offer him 10k a week, this has got to be a joke post?

01 Apr 2026 19:07:55
If we are getting rid of players that can't last 90 minutes, Tav won't be the only one that goes. The big problem we have currently is the difference he makes in attacking situations down the right, and how he's missed when he doesn't play. It probably is time for him to move on, but we will need to find a decent replacement, a right footed Rommens would do, and we would need to solve the problem we've had for years on the right side of the attack.

Without Tav that problem is highlighted even more.

01 Apr 2026 19:32:50
Happy with your opinion, Aphe, to sign 2 right backs next season if we can afford to prioritise that position over other positions on the pitch.
I just think Tav with his experience could play a part in the squad and would still be fit enough to play a significant playing role.

Definitely need to sign at least 1 younger right back that's a starter though.
We'll have plenty of other positions to cover and some continuity within the playing squad would be helpful.

01 Apr 2026 19:46:21
Heard it all now £20k for 20 minutes. ?

01 Apr 2026 19:52:20
Why would it be a joke post storm? Explain. ? It's posters' different opinions. The ones on here that want to keep Tav could refer to yours as a joke post, which of course it ain't. It's an opinion, my friend. ?

01 Apr 2026 19:56:53
Keep all day. We're too quick to throw experience away.

01 Apr 2026 19:58:12
£20k pw to maybe play 20 mins each week. I'd love a job like that.

Never been a fan of him, will recognise he has served the club for a long time when he goes, but time is up, as it was some time ago, and we need to move into a new era for the club. Not a captain and never should have been.

01 Apr 2026 20:02:19
Thank you, Tav, for the Goals, but it's time to say goodbye. ?

01 Apr 2026 20:33:34
I'm sorry, good servant, but I personally can wait to get rid of every member of this so called "leadership" group.

01 Apr 2026 20:48:48
CO2 - Neither Tav or Sterling is the ideal answer at RB - the position needs upgraded with several new players IMHO ? Am sure DR and those above are all too well aware of that. ?

01 Apr 2026 21:37:24
£20m a week seems a bit steep, even with Cavanagh money.

01 Apr 2026 21:39:23
Don't think he should be staying, but major red flag that he still contributes most numbers to the team.

01 Apr 2026 21:40:11
Tavs been great servant, but this should be his last season for us. Arrons definitely needs to leave. I like Sterling, but can he stay fit? So far he can't, so Alph, you could be right with need sign 2 rb.

The Swansea boy on loan at Falkirk, Liassh I think name is, would be a good option, and how about Mcrorie or Max Johnston as the other.

01 Apr 2026 22:08:42
We are paying Olsen 60k a week. How many 90 mins we had from him?

01 Apr 2026 23:41:40
usually 5 in the side every game and every team don't get 90 mins must use subs it's common sense.

02 Apr 2026 07:03:51
Don't know how much for, definitely we're paying Skov Olsen but seriously doubt very much we'll be paying him 60k a week, Rab48. ?

02 Apr 2026 08:30:48
£20K a week for 20 minutes!
Jesus wept.
Tav is done.
No sentimentality in football. Thanks for your service.

02 Apr 2026 09:11:23
The guys done you all with an April Fool. ?

02 Apr 2026 09:28:53
Coops, I don't need to explain anything to you, mate. That's my opinion, that it must be a joke post, or am I not allowed that?

02 Apr 2026 09:29:37
Coops, 45k a week plus loan fee will work out at 60k a week at least.

02 Apr 2026 10:35:11
Can't see it, Storm. ?

02 Apr 2026 11:32:47
20 grand for 20 minutes on a football field. Where and when do I sign up. ?????

02 Apr 2026 11:52:34
It's pretty hard to see, as you would need his wage slip, mate.
Olsen is on 45k a week, and it was at least 1 million loan fee, so you do the math. ?

02 Apr 2026 12:37:38
Million a season to extend Tav, that is a joke.

02 Apr 2026 12:52:12
I get it, Tavs time is up but do we really think that replacing him with a boy from Falkirk is an upgrade? I like Ross McCrorie, but we should be wary of his injury record and Johnson is currently out with a bad injury.

If we are ignoring potential injury issues, we should go for Nathan Patterson, Scottish, knows the club and the league, is good going forward and scores the odd goal.

02 Apr 2026 13:06:03
Anybody that can run up and down the park and get back into position without blowing out his ar$e is an upgrade on Tav, WSL. ?

02 Apr 2026 13:18:20
See us bringing in a starting RB to fight it out with Stirling when fit, so don't think Tav will be here.
