Chermiti IMO is not a natural striker sure he might score the odd outstanding goal but he will never be a finisher when we really need him. The chance he had yesterday when he put it into the side netting summed it up for me, the finish all day long was the keepers left hand side. These are things that can't be taught.

22 Mar 2026 23:43:17
Sell him, he's no good to us. A goal here and there, nah, not for me thanks.

22 Mar 2026 23:47:18
BT, Chermiti is in his first proper season, mate, I certainly wouldn't be making that call right now, but Chermiti has great ability as a footballer, very talented young player.

22 Mar 2026 23:49:39
Laudrup, he's been pretty good for us imo mate.

We weren't happy with Dessers either.

When are most Rangers fans like yourself, bro, and it's not an attack, I'm just pointing out that we will never again have strikers like Larson in Scotland.

Wingers like Laudrup and attack mf like Gazza.

We used to have Gough, now we have Souttar.

It's the way it is now and it won't be going back.

22 Mar 2026 23:59:15
Stevie, very good chance we win the league this season, mate, I can't remember how many league goals Dessers scored, but 29 overall, not close to winning the league, I loved Dessers but Chermiti brings far more to our side.

23 Mar 2026 03:51:58
Chermiti will never be what we require. Not good enough. Watch some of his positioning yesterday, even when we were going forward he was not in the box most of the time to give himself a chance of scoring.

If some think he is so good, do you think anyone will be in for him come the summer window? Not a chance unless we are willing to sell at a vast loss.

23 Mar 2026 04:31:45
We'd be crazy to sell Chermiti now, he is finally starting to show what he's all about. He'll continue to score more goals next season. He'd benefit from a natural goal scorer next to him, somebody with pace.

23 Mar 2026 05:25:14
Skelp Aberdeen 4-1, and still some so-called fans are not happy! Unbelievable. Both strikers played a part in goals. We won't have another McCoist, rare! Let's just support the fact that they seem to be getting the 3 points and setting up whoever is getting the goals!!

23 Mar 2026 06:50:01
More to it than his goal tally - agree not prolific - but an integral part of Danny's team - I'm happy with the big man. ??????

23 Mar 2026 06:51:02
BT, I stated yesterday that, for me, Miovski is the most natural finisher at Ibrox, but needs another playing close/alongside to him. ? What's your thoughts on that, and everyone else's thoughts for that matter? ? ??

23 Mar 2026 06:53:16
If we're going to continue with Chermiti, we'll need to drastically change our midfield. You can get away with forwards like him if others are regular scores instead, but, as per the discussion last week, we don't have goal scoring midfielders. Yes, we're managing to share them around just now, but that can't be depended on as 12 draws this season shows.

23 Mar 2026 07:15:21
Dessers scored regularly and he could occupy a defence and hold the ball up.

23 Mar 2026 07:20:23
Yet Dessers got it stinking for 22 goals overall in his first season, 29 overall in his 2nd, and still it wasn't enough. Yet Chermiti gets a free pass, so ones judged on not enough goals on here and slated for his misses, the other, oh he's talented.

I like Chermiti, but Jesus, get a grip, a striker is judged on goals. Gd players, him and Naderi, but they need to be scoring regularly. Naderi does more for the team than Chermiti, and he's not scoring either.

23 Mar 2026 07:23:20
But we can get Shankland, we can get Maswanishe.

23 Mar 2026 07:29:11
Shankland's ship has sailed to the "Grey Havens". ?

23 Mar 2026 07:59:20
I honestly think Chermiti will end up a winger. Every time he's wide, he causes problems and a great out ball against fullbacks. Very good dribbler and decent pace.

23 Mar 2026 08:06:22
Let's go get Shankland then Fort, even when they have a cf will far more ability.

23 Mar 2026 08:07:04
We never won the Championship with Dessers. A fantastic attitude though, and good goal return. Celtic's central defenders had him in their pockets.
Let's just back the current players and see what the next 7 matches bring us. If it's the Championship, well done to them all.

23 Mar 2026 08:07:31
Fork, I'm going on ability, Dessers could only dream about having Chermiti's.

23 Mar 2026 08:14:48
The manager seems happy with the current strikers; if he weren't, he'd drop them or start Miovski. While fans focus on goals, the manager may be looking at the bigger picture.

He'd likely prefer more goals, but if their positioning was a major issue, they'd be fixing it in training. Also, by signing Naderi instead of a traditional "poacher," the manager suggests this playing style is intentional.

We've only drawn six games since Chermiti started, including the Celtic game where he scored twice. In other draws, we created chances that others simply missed.

That will happen even if the striker is our principle goalscorer; last season we had 9 draws with a 20+ goalscorer.
The plan seems to be for strikers to press hard and create panic, allowing others to score. Just like Dessers before him, is Chermiti being unfairly criticised because fans are still looking for a legendary goalscorer like Ally McCoist - a type of player that rarely exists in today's game.
I want him to score as well, but you can't blame him for not doing it if the manager isn't playing him to do it.

23 Mar 2026 08:25:06
As Chermiti can only dream about Dessers goals, as I said, Naderi does more for the team imo, and I like Chermiti, as u know. Why would I want Shankland btw, I never have.

23 Mar 2026 08:26:28
Think you're correct, Angus.

23 Mar 2026 08:29:31
Chermiti and Dessers are different levels on ability, Fork.

23 Mar 2026 08:30:30
How many goals did Dessers score in this first proper season, Fork?

23 Mar 2026 08:32:54
Signed for Rangers at 29, had around 100 goals.
Believe when Chermiti is 29-year-old he will have that, but has far more ability.

23 Mar 2026 08:37:32
In your opinion, not in mine, and no matter how often you say it will mine change, that will only happen if Chermiti kicks on and up a gear. As I said, gd player but not all that. Yet.

23 Mar 2026 08:51:06
Keep going, my opinion won't change, no matter how many posts you fire off. You think he's all that, I don't, not yet anyway.

23 Mar 2026 08:51:47
You thinking Chermiti won't have 100 goals at 29 years old? Fork, I'm not really interested in changing anyone's opinion, I'm only saying Chermiti has easily got far more ability than Dessers has.

23 Mar 2026 09:06:44
Did I say that? No, I didn't, yet you fire off lots of posts. Who are you trying to convince your opinion is right, yourself? You do it all the time when someone has a different perspective.

If you believe that, carry on. Me, I don't, and as you've missed it in every one of my posts, I've said in relation to Chermiti that he's not all that at least, not yet anyway imo.

23 Mar 2026 09:16:59
Fork, I agree he isn't the finished goalscorer which Dessers was when he was with us. The age difference may be the reason for that, but it may not; we need to wait until he is 29 to know for sure.

You have said he is a good player and I would simply agree with that. My point is only that he might not be being asked to play a game like where his sole purpose is to score goals.

So, for anyone, and I don't mean you, to criticise him when they don't know what his role is in the team just seems unfair to me.

btw, if you want Star to stop, don't take the bait and keep posting. ;)

23 Mar 2026 09:19:08
Didn't you say about Chermiti dreaming of Dessers goals? Reckon he'll have more at Dessers age, Fork.
I've already said that. I ain't changing nobody's opinion, but easily, imo, Chermiti is levels up as a footballer than Dessers has ever been, obviously you think different, same as an older Naderi.

23 Mar 2026 09:22:53
Nah, not the Dessers chat anymore guys, come on. ??

The facts can be looked up by anyone, and it's not a good watch.

Sure, the goal totals look good for CD9, but if you care to look into it, you will see that most of his goals were in games we were already winning, so it was just stat padding in the end.

Not to mention, Dessers had a lot more chances created for him by his team mates.

We have been stinking for more than half of this season, and not creating chances for our strikers until more recently.

Dessers was also meant to be in his prime.
Chermiti is a young player learning his craft.

If we can make a profit on Chermiti this summer, then I would say to sell him.

23 Mar 2026 12:20:02
80% of Dessers goals were crucial, so the "stat padding" is a lot of nonsense.
I'd personally prefer Naderi as the focal point of the attack, with Chermiti doing the donkey work for him. As I believe Naderi makes better runs and is more instinctive in the box than Chermiti.

23 Mar 2026 12:51:47
My opinion on Chermiti is well known, so not getting involved except to ask Leerc, what part Chermiti played in any of the goals? Naderi set up Moores and set up the disallowed goal, but unless you count keeping out of the way, I don't know what part Chermiti played.

23 Mar 2026 11:18:34
Hes a player when he gets time he seems to panic with his shooting. he's better when he's no time to think

23 Mar 2026 14:10:54
Wsl higher successful pass percentage, which could mean that he keeps attacks going more successfully. If he isn't successful in that, then the moves don't finish with the ability of the last player to make that assisted pass. Naderi was not as effective, as 1/3 of his passes didn't find a Rangers player.

Chermiti attempted 2 more passes, so more effective in being involved, if only slightly. However, I think they both play a part in how the coach wants us to play atm anyway.

23 Mar 2026 15:48:10
I think both are not in the positions they need to be. Dropping back too much, too deep. Causes chaos on and along the back line. Defence needs to push up, which hopefully pushes up the midfield.
Add into that a later runner like Airfield mould.

This would help.
The strikers playing too deep or too wide, they won't score.
Naderi is better at making angled runs, but our midfield can't spot them.

I do have a concern about runs, or lack of runs into the box. The instinct in the box is missing.
