Not a steve clarke fan but kudos to him for realizing the potential of young findlay Curtis. His confidence and (value) will benefit from this major upgrade to his career. also a good move loaning him out. i'm sure neil will take good care of him.

16 Mar 2026 16:25:50
Maybe we would have been better off if he was still at Ibrox.

16 Mar 2026 16:34:41
I think he'll come back a more complete player. Without hindsight, I can see why they loaned him out with the senior players that were there.

16 Mar 2026 17:10:38
The move was the best thing for him and the club going forward.

16 Mar 2026 18:17:57
Whatsmyname, don't think Clark has many fans, but nobody can knock what he's done with national team tbf. Buzzing for young Curtis, good for his confidence.

16 Mar 2026 19:22:56
BB4, I like Clarke's dynamism in press conferences. ??

16 Mar 2026 19:47:45
The move to Killie was best for him right now. Yes, he'd get some minutes with us but he's going to get a lot more at Killie and that can only be a good thing. Watched most of the Hearts game and thought he already looked more confident and assured.

16 Mar 2026 20:10:59
Curtis much better player than Gassama and Aasgaard, Antman.
Would have kept him and played him. Who out of the above is showing better quality than what we have seen from them all so far?

16 Mar 2026 20:27:05
All these hypotheticals are really ridiculous. It's pretty obvious if he played and didn't perform he'd get the McCausland treatment and his confidence would be shot to bits. This loan is the making of him.

16 Mar 2026 20:37:24
What an honour for young Findlay Curtis and his family today, receiving the superb news of getting called up by his country. ?? He's got a big future in the game, and hopefully it's at Rangers, and I truly think it will. ? A very well done/congratulations to young Findlay Curtis. ?

16 Mar 2026 20:38:43
I know where you're coming from, Rabbi. ? Curtis is much better than McCausland for me. ?

16 Mar 2026 21:27:46
Curtis has the potential to be better than McCausland.

Also, good to see McCrorie called up.

16 Mar 2026 22:12:59
Curtis may have more potential than McCausland, or even be better, but Rabbi's point does hold water. If he had a poor patch, he would get the same treatment. Would he then turn into a second-season McCausland who stopped taking people on?
I want him to play for us, but think, like the club, being on loan in a less-pressured environment is better to get him to the next stage in his development.

He can go through his patch of bad form there and recover.

16 Mar 2026 22:47:27
I don't think McCausland was as highly rated, and maybe an earlier loan for him would have been better for him too. At the same time, though, comes a point u have to show you're good enough, or you're moved on, just like anyone else.

17 Mar 2026 00:19:29
A front 3 of Curtis, Chermiti and Moore would've been our best bet of being successful this season.

17 Mar 2026 04:43:14
Good points, Angus, and, you know, like myself, mate, you're absolutely going to get inconsistency with young players, and us as a support all have to understand that. ? When they have their run of bad form, get behind them instead of on their back, which can drive a young player into a shell of the player they're capable of being.

? They will lose form, but remember, they'll never lose their talent, so let's get behind them and guide them through their bad form. ?

17 Mar 2026 07:56:07
SWS, that is true of everyone as well. Talent is permanent, form is temporary. One of the reasons why I always think that players who come to us will somehow show that talent and regain form. As Djiga shows, it sometimes takes longer.
I saw Yang of Celtic being quoted as saying that, in his third season, he is now starting to feel more at home.

He has performed okay before then, but shows the mental element of playing, imo. Not saying I think every player gets 3 seasons before others jump on that.

17 Mar 2026 08:15:26
Angus, I agree entirely, my friend, but if you are a player recommended by Aphelion, you must show that you are the best in your first 7 matches or you are a useless flop.

17 Mar 2026 08:49:48
I actually think another full season loan next season will do a lot of good. If we're going to take him back and have him as a bit-part player, it is pointless. Killie fans are raving about him. Keep him at Killie for a full season, and if he keeps progressing, then hopefully he's a starter the rolling season.

17 Mar 2026 09:20:35
Angus, I've never agreed with that 'talent is permanent, form is temporary' phrase. Football is littered with players who had a good couple of seasons at one club, then completely drop off a cliff and practically disappear by their mid to late 20s. Talent must be constantly worked on to maintain it, and must be coupled with the motivation and desire to keep it.

17 Mar 2026 09:49:31
Aph, mate, why do u choose to make it personal? No one is disappointed in any player's performance because Aphelion recommended them.

17 Mar 2026 10:52:59
Kaiser, I agree it needs to be worked on to maintain, but their innate skill level is always still there. But that skill doesn't show itself for many reasons at times in any player's career: if they aren't motivated, mentally prepared etc, then they don't have the base to show that talent.

So they don't lose that skill even when they fall off that cliff; there are just other reasons why they don't show it.
