I was delighted to see that Lyall Cameron had a great game playing for Aberdeen v Motherwell last night, not for the first time since he went there on loan.
My sincere hope is that he will be welcomed back into the squad at Ibrox when he returns.
It's all a bit mysterious regarding what happened with him at Rangers, but hopefully he'll be allowed to restart his Rangers career, as I think he's a cracking wee player.

Agreed, Jim. I think he could kick on like Barron, or better. I rate him anyway, and think, given a shot, he could do well for us next year.
19 Feb 2026 16:13:46
Yeh, I agree with you, Jim. I thought he would be decent for us and can't understand why he never got more of a chance. Obviously, the people in charge weren't keen on what they saw.

Pleased Lyall Cameron is playing well, and pleased he's getting game time, but I wish it was for another club instead of the Woolies. I despise that apology of a football club. ? ?

I get a feeling that he won't return, which I think is a real shame.
19 Feb 2026 17:16:28
Ehl, I agree with u. Not rated at all by the managers.
19 Feb 2026 17:22:06
I think Raskin will be sold in the summer and Cameron will take over his spot.
19 Feb 2026 17:27:45
Doesn't quite fit in the current model of getting 6ft plus players.
19 Feb 2026 17:43:24
Hopefully we will get a decent fee for him plus add-ons. Hopefully I am wrong, but, like a few others, I would be pleasantly surprised if he plays for Rangers again.
19 Feb 2026 17:44:52
Tbh I'd prefer him to Barron.
19 Feb 2026 18:11:22
Unfortunately, he wasn't the current manager's signing, so it seems to me he's a decent wee player who doesn't fit into the plans of our manager.
19 Feb 2026 18:38:29
Sadly, I think both Ehl and John are spot on here, and Lyall Cameron might well not be back at Rangers and will move on permanently once his loan deal with the Woolies ceases. ?

Not sure what happened to Cameron. So much number crunching and analysis goes on these days that maybe he simply didn't impress in that part. There was a rumour going around that he had some personal issues as well.
Either way, it's a shame because he looked pretty effective to me when he played.
19 Feb 2026 21:47:32
Would be a shame, as I was keen to see how he got on with us, but could well believe he is not in the manager's plans. Hopefully get a decent fee for him if he is off.

Cameron is actually rated as a player. However, he made a few silly decisions that upset a few at the club and brought his ability to adjust at a club of our size and stature into question.
I was hoping being out of sight, so to speak, at Aberdeen would help, but from what I can gather it's unlikely he'll be forgiven.

If we sell to Aberdeen, we should insert a 50% sell-on into a deal, maybe for £1.5m, as he's a class player, imo. He'll move from them to the Championship within a season, or maybe even by the summer, we'll get a lot of offers.

Ehl can u definetely say he hasn't done something silly like cought taking stuff he should t or failed a test if if u get me?
It seems that something serious has happened.
Rumours of mcgeadey and Pearson coming n American tour under strachan type of thing.

Stevie, I can definitely say he didn't get caught taking drugs - I wouldn't have classified that as a silly decision.
20 Feb 2026 09:54:09
Good, discreet info, Ehl. I had high hopes for him. To do something that won't be forgiven sounds pretty serious to me. He won't play for us again, I fear.

I liked the look of him, so come pre-season, he should be given a clean slate. He's not the first player to do something silly, including some legends. I like the fact that when he got injured against Brugge he knew the team were a man down, and no subs left, and was prepared to play on, not eager to come off.
He caused himself greater damage, but he put the team first, and that shows he has got something about him.
