There's a lot of debate about youssef Chermiti in regards to whether he'll become the complete striker and on a consistent/regular basis? SO ED, would you be so kind to run a poll amongst us all regarding Chermiti ie. my poll being will Chermiti turn out to be a very good all round Rangers striker, yes or no? Thanks ED and as always, very much appreciated pal?

Chermiti poll

17 Feb 2026 09:15:43
Far too early to tell. Pointless poll.

17 Feb 2026 09:21:29
I thought the second goal was just a wee bit special. So that's a yes from me.

17 Feb 2026 09:25:03
No Undecided, no vote. ?

17 Feb 2026 09:44:13
A long way to go. Can't make a decision about a career in five months.

17 Feb 2026 09:55:33
Followed by a pointless post. ? ?

17 Feb 2026 09:58:51
I think if he gets another 5/6 in the run, we actually might get an offer for him we can't refuse. He's not consistent enough to start every week. His 2 against them and his hat trick are great, but he's nowhere near clinical enough, and, more often than not, as a "no9", he's just not very good.

17 Feb 2026 09:59:21
Let's just wait and see, hopefully he proves the doubters, including myself, wrong. He's a young player, learning his trade.

17 Feb 2026 10:12:49
Then don't vote and scroll past. It's easy.

17 Feb 2026 10:15:28
Relax, Tuur, it's a bit of fun. People get too hung up on whether their opinions are actually that important. They're not!

Sometimes, just having a chat and getting things off your chest is the whole point on forums like this. I'll be voting!

17 Feb 2026 11:18:03
Too early to say for me.

17 Feb 2026 11:19:55
Did not vote, Jfm. Did not realise we r not allowed to comment, soz.

17 Feb 2026 11:33:10
A chat is completely different from a yes or no poll where there is no middle ground, Rostosto.

17 Feb 2026 11:44:36
Boy is learning the game. The more experience he gets, the more he will improve. One thing is clear, he thrives in the big game atmosphere.

17 Feb 2026 11:48:04
Considering he's only 21, I don't see him not getting any better. He's our youngest striker and currently our first choice, imo. That, coupled with the price tag, means he's probably under a lot of pressure. Just need to see him scoring more regularly.

17 Feb 2026 12:07:38
I think he will be a decent enough pro but nothing special, and will be remembered at Rangers as a "flop".

Not shown enough in most of the games this season. He's had 2 good games (Tims and Jambos), the rest of the games are why people have called him a "donkey" (not my term, but seen it plenty of times).

Any profit made on the lad would be good, but only if we win trophies.

17 Feb 2026 12:11:03
John, that plum from BBC & Premier has already made his mind up on Chermiti? But the former Hibs striker Bowie will hit the top, so he says. ?

17 Feb 2026 12:42:02
I'll tell you late May. If he gets 15 goals, then he will be sold for 15-20M. His age is a very positive factor. And that header was a tad special.

17 Feb 2026 12:44:43
If Chermiti is supposedly learning his trade, how come he's been a 1st team player since 2023? What does a player need to learn in 3 years? An undergraduate student completes law school in 3 years, and an engineer takes a bit more than 4 years. A boy who's been playing football for more than 13 years has to know that his job requires kicking a ball and hitting the net.

He's been playing since he was 8 years old. What is required in the job description? Kick left, right, pass, shoot. Wow. Get the diplomas out. Sorry, boys. How far have we fallen, that guys think 7 goals in 30 games is a good return? Take the first offer that comes in and reinvest. Nediri has 2 in 4.

17 Feb 2026 12:53:31
But he hasn't only had 2 good games. If you use the metric of 'you have to score as a striker for it to be a good game,' then there are lots of good strikers who have had plenty of poor games, as they didn't score. Does that extend to wingers not having good games if they don't assist, or defences not playing well if they don't have a clean sheet?

Profit on players is good even if we don't win trophies.

Take the profit at the right time and invest to win more trophies and be consistently challenging.

With Chermiti he has gone from being a flop, a donkey and dog turd to actually have the potential to make us profit from a transfer fee which was roundly written off as too much and a waste of money. Does that mean that Thelwell and Purdy know more about a player's ability and potential than fans. ? ?

17 Feb 2026 13:10:44
Whine, how good were you (not how good you thought you were) at 21? With experience comes consistency, better decision making, being used to people around you, etc., etc. That's what you learn playing and maturing.

17 Feb 2026 13:25:31
What are you talking about, mate? ? That's probably one of the most nonsensical comparisons I think I've ever read.

In the league, he has 7 goals and 2 assists. It says in 19 games, but in reality he's only played 1051 mins = just over 11 and a half games.

He needs to score more goals against other teams more frequently. Nobody said 7 goals in 30 games is a good return. Certainly, in the league, 7 goals and 2 assists in under 12 games isn't bad. It's 0.8 g/a per 90 minutes; he just needs to spread them out against other teams.

17 Feb 2026 13:28:09
Couldn't agree more, Whine. 7 in 30 appearances now constitutes what we want from a Rangers number 9? Incredible. He was very good on Sunday, but 2 good games in 6 months isn't going to cut it. Mikey Moore is 18, and most people are sure he will become a smashing player, but Chermiti is 21 and we say wait and see with him because of his age? He's either good enough or he's not.

I hope I'm wrong, and he scores most weeks, but I just can't see it.

17 Feb 2026 13:38:42
Jackboy, I need to ask now. So, what constitutes a good game for you from Chermiti, or any striker, I suppose? It looks like you mean they score, but I may be wrong.

If it is scoring, do you think that Harry Kane, who hasn't scored in 9 club games this season and 24 last season, had bad games in each of those?

Btw Mikey Moore only scored 4 goals this season in 22, so 18 bad games I guess.

?

17 Feb 2026 14:06:13
No.
He will never be a 20-30 goal a season striker.
If anyone comes back in with a bid of 13 million again, I'd bite their hand off.
Fingers crossed he proves me wrong.

17 Feb 2026 16:01:25
He doesn't need to just score goals, but he has had only two games that he has been good in. It's just lucky for him that he scored in both. His overall play has been poor in the majority of his games; a blind man can see it. But he is improving, just not quickly enough for some.

17 Feb 2026 19:24:06
Play with two up top and you get the best from him and from Rangers. It's a 'yes' from me.
