So guys how do you feel the first transfer window has went?
I personally think it has been a very good window.
A breath of fresh air being so busy with incomings whilst also making the club wage bill more sustainable.
03 Sep 2025 18:20:51
Totally agree Asa.
03 Sep 2025 18:32:21
I think it's been eventful but not successful Asa, I would have rather we made permanent signings in defence first but nice to see us back a manager even if he is the wrong choice imo.
03 Sep 2025 18:35:21
It's been a really good transfer window for us Asa and i would be really confident of winning the league this season, if we had a better manager/ head as opposed to having russell martin, who i'd love to prove me wrong but just can't see it working under him tbh ?.

Time will tell regarding success but it was nice to be active. To spend £25m and bring in £20m is good player trading at the very least.
Look our previous transfer window in January. 1 loan signing Rafa Fernandes… so it was night and day under the new owners.
03 Sep 2025 18:48:03
I think it's been good overall.
I am shocked about how many players have arrived in one window, really didn't expect that many.
Still a few I would like to have seen go out the door permanently.
Just need to get what happens on the pitch sorted now. Will be interesting to see what January brings now.
03 Sep 2025 18:49:23
I think the window is a 7/ 10, a lot moved on, we will see this completed over next twelve months
In coming hars to say, looks promising but not every incoming will be a major success
They need to win silver, preferably the league.
03 Sep 2025 18:56:39
I agree entirely John, the proof will be in the results.
03 Sep 2025 19:00:42
A think it was a restructuring window which was very much needed personally not a single player will playing in 4 windows time.
03 Sep 2025 19:01:14
I think we've done well.
A lot of changes.
We'll know better next year.
03 Sep 2025 19:16:53
Agree the proof will be on the silverware
In paper it looks a good young strong squad think a good manager would do well with
Martin needs to prove he's the the good manager now the window has closed so let's see the results improve.

Asa - Disappointed to be spending so much money on loans than deals tbh. Once again I don't think the club is being run very responsibly tbh and think Koppen could have done better.
If it's true the net spend is £20M then as I said yesterday the loan fees are HUGE.
❌ Aarons - should have got Mulligan
❌ Djiga/ Cornelius - expensive downgrade on Balogun (I know he had fitness issues)
✅ Meghoma - good loan although wanted Cadden.
❌ Rothwell - not dynamic enough. Not as effective as what we already had, waste of money so far.
?♂️Antman - jury still out
✅ Gassama - looks a steal.
✅Mijovski - will prove to be better than CD
❌ Asgard - jury still out but atm downgrade on Hagi who wasn't good enough
?♂️Chermiti - expensive and could turn out to be a star but think Bowie would have been a better option.

Asa- still too early in process but the average age of the squad has come down, plus a few players have either left the club our gone out on loan.
Our defence has Aarons - Loan, Dijga Loan, Meghoma Loan, and Cornelius- Loan ( option to buy) and after the season is concluded we are back to square one searching for new signings.
Hamza and Dessers have both left the club so hopefully Miovski who was excellent at Aberdeen, and Chemitri can fill the void.
Total revamp of the squad so ?we can win some silverware.

Happy 8/ 10 for me.
03 Sep 2025 20:07:32
Zikos mulligan turned us down.
You haven't seen cornelius to judge against balogun?
I wouldn't mind cadden either, currently playimg 2nd fiddle to obita. Meghoma upgrade on anything we had last season.
Rothwell only cost 500k so low risk signing.
03 Sep 2025 20:12:33
Zikos you have that bang on mate. Not worried re aasgaard though he'll be a player imo.
03 Sep 2025 20:16:54
I think the amount of loan deals is deeply concerning, and we will be in similar trouble next Summer.
For example, we could potentially need 8 defenders next year if Tav and Souttar leave as expected. That's absolutely insane!
This ? should have been addressed in this window.
03 Sep 2025 20:19:44
5/ 10 for me but can get better fed up with English players we haven't learned from that.
03 Sep 2025 20:46:34
Rusty you are right that I've not seen him play but my point was more about the irresponsible spending. How much has Cornelius and Djiga cost us in loan deals? When we already had someone in the building that could have filled in and been a solid backup.
Mulligan apparently only turned us down when we signed Aarons, which appears to have been a major mistake. Again how much is that loan costing?
Rothwell maybe only £500k but how much in wages and is it for 3 years? Probably going to cost us around £3M at least! When we already had better in the building.
Wonder how much the Moore deal is costing as well.
As I said yesterday, I heard from an extremely senior person at the club that we have spent more on Loans (a lot more) than we've spent on Chermiti. I was hoping that meant we hadn't spent a lot on Chermiti but after Thelwell comments today about net spend it doesn't appear so.
I think we've spent far to much to only improve the squad slightly, if any.
03 Sep 2025 20:53:26
I think the 3 best signings this year will prove to be Mijovski, Gassama and Cameron. By all accounts 3 Koppen targets which appears to be responsibly sourced.
03 Sep 2025 21:28:10
Yip the whole defence strategy has been a mess zikos, it's as though no thought has went into it.
03 Sep 2025 22:29:25
Big discrepancy with the figures. Simple calculation was approx £5 m net spend however we're now told it's £20m including loan fees. I for one don't believe we got £6 m for jefte unless it included large add ons.
