Given how impressive Gassama has looked, it'll be interesting to see how Camara gets on over in Portugal.
Koppen was really keen on both players and out of the 2 had higher hopes for the right sided Camara.
Looks like a bit of a sliding doors moment for us getting Gassama - as we'd originally pressed pause on the deal (which is understandable) .

If Sheff Wed were not in dire straits we would never have been able to afford Gassama. I find it hard to believe that he was a Koppen target given the poor record of signings Koppen made. I tend to believe that Gassama is a player RM identified. Just my opinion. Anyway I asked last night and got slaughtered but does anyone know if we have changed our policy on the dress code for our Manager? I noticed that RM wasn't wearing the suit and tie and wondered if this had changed.

Vassals stated he was aware of Rangers interest since December, it's koppen who has identified some of these players. His good work hasn't all been abandoned.

He wears it at pressers. and he was identified by Koppen, the difference was at that time Gassama wasn't in the situation SW are in now and we didn't have any money to spend. The players that Koppen managed to bring in weren't the original targets.

Gassa, Koppen signed a couple of players that we will receive more for than got spent on all signings he recommended, he also put things in place for future transfers.
Martin could wear shorts and t-shirt for all am caring, am only interested in his side winning games of football.

Honestly, have we really become so obsessed that criticism of the managers clothing is being made? He can sit on the touchline in fancy dress, in a dress in fact, as long as he puts a winning team on the park.

Gassa, if you have time listen back to Gassama's interviews, he talks about being aware of our interest in December.
Also, RM wasn't originally sure of him, so it was actually Sal who encouraged him to revisit the deal - hence the sliding door moment.
Again, I'm sure Martin has talked about this in interviews.

Given he wasn't wearing a suit I would say the policy (if there ever was one) has chanegd.
personally I think the manager should wear a suit especially when the temperature is 36 degrees. In fact we should go back to asking him to wear the sheepskin car coat which managers wore in the 70s. If they don't wear the suit and the car coat then their ability as a manager will obviously be lessened. I think this is why Joachim Low didn't win the World Cup with Germany as he always wore a black t shirt (oh hang on I forgot 2014) and why Pep guardiola will never be any good. ??.

Angus history and standards matter. If every other manager in our history can wear a shirt and tie at away European ties so can Martin. That said it is a small issue and not one I'd fall out with anyone over.

Gassa. Its been changing constantly since gerrard was manager. Players used to be collar and tie to training. now its tracksuits to training and games. Martin turns up in suit but changes for the game it looks like.

When Kent never wore a suit everyone on here said Kent was disrespectful for not following our traditions. Why is it no longer important and why does RM not get called disrespectful like Kent. Wishy yes standards do matter but only if they affect the ability of someone to do his job. I would say it was a tradition rather than a policy anyway. Gerrard covered it a a tradition which he said he would follow "for now" when he got the job.

I'm just asking the question because in my 41 years the manager has always wore a suit and tie. Only the match day squad were required to wear shirt and tie. It matters because our traditions should be upheld. Our traditions are what make our club.
