Was told last night that already makhanya has glaring eyes on him from a few english Premier League clubs βΉοΈHearing chelsea, Liverpool,
spurs and aston villa are supposed to be the clubs interested in him π€π¬π§ I hope we can keep him for a few seasons yet as he's got plenty time to go to the better leagues and it would benefit him staying a couple of seasons with Rangers instead of maybe going to soon to a big club in one of Europe's top leagues π€π¬π§.

Not going to start talking about record transfer fees like we all did with Manny last season, but we have to realise that players will see Rangers as a stepping stone these days.

DTB, i totally agree mate unfortunately with the league we play in that's always going to be the case βΉοΈIf Rangers were say in the english Premier League with the money/sponsorship in that league good players we have, wouldn't leave Rangers π€π¬π§.

Why is the first thing we do as a fanbase when we get a good player speak about selling him. Let's see if we can actually build a team to win some trophies.
Celtic get a good player they keep for 2/3 seasons before selling then maximise their value.

He's just in the door and has done nothing yet.
Long way to go before he can think about any of those clubs.
As a fan base, we need to be more chill about these guys. A couple of good performances and some see tens of millions in fees and a move to an elite league.
All the hype is no good for a player's focus - see Manny Fernandez.
Two full seasons of consistent performance, some silverware in the bag, then let's see where we're at with him.

Only passing on info and allegedly both Liverpool and villa had been watching him at Philadelphia Union before we did π€ So guys i'm not talking about wanting to sell makhanya,
i'm merely sharing info that clubs are already watching him and are interested π€π¬π§.

Tell them it's Β£70million cash up from lol. hopefully that will make them leave him alone.
16 Sep 2026 10:30:36
Keep him for 2 we'll be doing extremely well.
16 Sep 2026 10:31:05
Well you can remove Liverpool as they have needed defenders for 3 years & signed attackers instead.
{Ed001's Note - they bought 4 centre-backs in the summer. No idea what you are talking about. It is midfielders they needed and didn't buy.}

The reality is it has nothing to do with what the fanbase either says or wants. A business decision will be made based on what the hierachy deem to be best for Rangers. Even with the speculation and uncertainty around Raskin this summer, i'm glad we stuck to our guns and kept him. I'd like to see a pathway created where we keep players who are doing well for us for at least a couple of seasons.
Where we may benefit financially from a "Bassey" type scenario, this does nothing for continuity, team morale, and sustained success as it is unlikely that any replacements will bear the same fruits on a constant basis. I'd much rather have a lesser rebuild every 2/3 seasons, as opposed to ripping it up every year.
16 Sep 2026 11:49:42
reality is we are a selling side so if someone comes in with the right offer and the player is up for it he will be off.
the challenge is not losing too many key players in one window.
and yes we can't go out and buy like for like as generally that would cost more. the hope is we buy decent with good potential, like we did with him.
16 Sep 2026 12:40:16
It's good we've got players worth them keeping an eye on. These type of clubs will have eyes everywhere though so wouldn't read much into it. As long as folk don't get carried away and it doesn't go to his head either like with the Manny to Arsenal and Dortmund stuff after half a dozen games.
16 Sep 2026 12:40:55
Ideal world here for two poss three seasons and he wins everything then leaves, lot easier to let one or two leave from a winning team and bringing the same in instead of the lottery of rebuilds every year, hope all our players are getting looked at by end of season.
16 Sep 2026 12:48:18
No qualms at all with other clubs looking at, or considering buying, Makhanya or any other Rangers player - means they must be doing a job for us.
My issue is us ensuring we receive top dollar for whoever it may be. Something I feel we've let ourselves down with on far too many occasions over the years.
π΄β½π΅π.
16 Sep 2026 13:15:48
My price for him would be Β£25-30m
Put off the clubs looking at him.
He would however be due to be offered a better contract if we value him in that bracket and I think we need to make that a high priority.
Make him feel loved and he will be happier to stay than on lesser money. Simple really.
16 Sep 2026 13:54:28
We heard all this about Fernandez after a few games and yet he's still here despite the window being open for what seemed like a year and the " linked" clubs all signing defenders. Likewise how many clubs were " linked" with Raskin and nothing happened.
Its great for chat on here and other sites but that's likely all it is. As somebody says, it would be better to keep him and win things for a few years. One thing the new owners gives us is financial stability so that we don't need to sell as soon as we get an offer.
16 Sep 2026 14:18:36
Fernandez/ Raskin, = 25 mill anyone?
Let's just enjoy the guy when he is here & hope he kicks on & actually wins something!
Is that too much?
16 Sep 2026 14:29:43
If I say I've loved the look of Makhanya, settled in right away and has been a consistent performer, can I join the "I can spot a player" club? π.
16 Sep 2026 19:10:29
He can go anywhere he wants after he has league winners medal π₯.
16 Sep 2026 20:01:29
Both him and Fernandez will leave for big money, I'm only interested in them building a great partnership as Rangers players.
