Aasgaard confirmed loan to Anderlecht.
02 Sep 2026 23:32:12
Disgraceful decision. Threw his toys out the prsm, and we have caved in, I suspect. Best thing we can do is empty the place of anyone involved in these decisions. We are as disjointed and shambolic off the park as we are in midfield and defence.
I genuinely fear a double figures defeat this month based on that tonight. The gaps, the lack of any shape, disinterested players etc etc.
02 Sep 2026 23:37:36
And Fernandez was a disgrace tonight. His attitude, his application, his couldn't care less mistakes. No way he's playing in my team again any time soon.
02 Sep 2026 23:43:48
Eastend, a double figures loss? Like a 10-0?
03 Sep 2026 00:07:59
Depends how much the loan fee is?
03 Sep 2026 02:57:41
Fernandes is already away in his head.
03 Sep 2026 05:34:32
He's away training with the under 21's in my head.
He needs removed and told he's not very good, and needs to improve if he wants back in the team before he gets anywhere near a move.
Honest to Christ, who would buy him?
The board need a long, hard look at themselves, letting Asstgard leave on loan with an option, very weak discussion, and will continue to make us an easy target for other clubs.
03 Sep 2026 06:12:29
We need a whole new transfer team and strategy cause clearly the now it inept n just not working well.
03 Sep 2026 06:49:04
I don't understand why letting Thelo go is being viewed as such a bad decision?
03 Sep 2026 07:02:05
If Big Souttar is still there after transfer window - he would be straight in that team with Fernandez and his dancing shoes warming the bench for a good few games - we are just so so slow moving ball from back through mid or even getting big diagonals - this tipy-tappy along back has been our downfall in the past, and will still cause us grief in upcoming games along with Manny's dithering.
- Big Manny, please go away and watch videos of your last few games - If you expended more energy moving the ball quicker rather than throwing your arms around like an aircraft marshall at Glasgow Airport, we would be in a far better place. 🤔 All that missing is two glowsticks in your hands - You are a defender, so defend, move the ball quickly and stop thinking you are Franz Beckenbauer.
03 Sep 2026 07:02:13
Agreed, EHL, he is way too inconsistent to be relied on in a starting 11. However, the same could be said about them all just now. I'm really hoping they start to gel soon and the creativity comes from somewhere.
03 Sep 2026 07:08:18
EHL, because we haven't let him go, loan with option favours Anderlecht, not us.
03 Sep 2026 07:15:56
I'm happy to let him go for a transfer fee. That's the model we're trying to replicate. Letting him go for a loan fee with no obligation is pretty weak management and is continuing on this dangerous president.
I can see why Raskin will be even more frustrated now. Looks like one rule for one and a different one for him.
Anderlecht either want him or they don't.
03 Sep 2026 07:38:32
I think it's more the fact it's a loan, EHL.
I'm guessing clubs were not willing to meet our valuation without a loan to prove himself, however.
03 Sep 2026 08:05:50
How about we actually see a future for him but he needs game time to boost his confidence; we get back a better developed, more mature player ready for their first team.
And even if we want to sell we are effectively protecting the player's value by loaning him as him sitting on our bench doesn't do that. On top of that, we get a loan fee and they pay at least part of his wages which is surely a benefit.
But the truth is, no-one on here knows, they just think loans are automatically bad.
But my favourite emotional rant of the year so far was us getting a double figure defeat soon. In the history of the modern SPL post 2013, that hasn't ever happened to any team. 🤷 And all this after a win. Thank goodness we didn't lose or even draw.
03 Sep 2026 08:18:34
The witch hunt on Manny is unbelievable, he's one of them characters that's quite nonchalant but outwith his silly pass last night, what did he actually do wrong?
Was he at fault for the goal, no. Did he pick up a needless red or throw out a dangerous tackle, no. Did he header almost every dangerous ball out the box, yes. Did he ping a few passes that only him in the team has the ability to do, yes.
Honest to god, the praise wee Barron got who couldn't even consistently get in the team for looking full of desire but doing absolutely nothing (check the stats, where's the goals and assists) compared to Manny who's consistently been a 6-9/10 every week as a young CB? Starting to think there's something more in this than his rocky start to the season, it's verging on nefarious.
03 Sep 2026 08:19:35
Some harsh man managers on here. Send him to the Under 21s for training? A disgrace? A double figure defeat? Send him out on loan. He's away in his head. Fernandez is a young lad with many more mistakes in him, I'm sorry to say. But he also has the potential to be an excellent player and I'm in no doubt that when we do sell him, it will be for a significant profit.
And I'm sure that other much maligned signings such as Aasgaard, Raskin and Chermiti will also make the club significant profit. We have to accept that when we sign young lads, they're a work in progress. That's where the club is at just now.
03 Sep 2026 08:21:35
Was reported during the week about Aasgaard. McInnes asked him to do something in Aberdeen game and he ignored him in front of the cameras, so obviously pissed McInnes off as he spoke highly of him before and started him first couple of games. A loan might actually generate more funds for Aasgaard also as fee is 6.5 mil and they will pay a loan fee which could be 1-1.5 mil, so that's 7.5/8 mil then they cover his full wages for the year which could also be close to 1 mil.
Not to mention, if he goes there and does well it might spark a bigger bid from elsewhere if they don't take option so we could do better out this deal than people think.
03 Sep 2026 08:23:08
EHL - from what I've seen and my own view too, we're pissed that it's another loan rather than sell and receiving money right now. Far too many loans, not enough straight sales. Seems to be the way we do business these days. Meanwhile Celtic sell players superbly, e.g. Jonny Kenny away for 3.5m!
03 Sep 2026 08:29:50
Letting Aasgaard go is a shocking decision, EHL, why did we not just punt him at start of window. He our most technical midfielder. Him and Sterling is the only two I would have kept. Now we have one 10 that's meant to be a left winger. He literally saved us from defeat.
03 Sep 2026 08:34:05
Agree with Ehl - on reflection, I don't think it's a terrible move, based on the formations we are trending towards, I just don't see where Thelo was going to fit in. He's not a 10 really, not a winger and not a 6 - Rohl was trying him as a CM towards the end of last season with limited impact on play.
So better to loan him, hopefully he does well and they take up the option, but I could only see him playing very little under McInnes the way things were heard tanking his value.
03 Sep 2026 08:37:19
The thing that worries me about Fernandez is it's the same mistake every game, lack of concentration. I do not know if it can be coached into him to keep turned on for 90+mins, but until he gets that out of his game he will always be a worry.
03 Sep 2026 08:39:56
Okay, so it's a loan.
We've moved on a player who we didn't want and who didn't want to be at the club and increased the likelihood of getting some money for him next season whilst reducing our wage bill for this season.
I'm pretty sure if there was a deal to actually sell we'd have taken it, but so many posters act like we knocked back multiple offers and choose the loan with options on purpose.
03 Sep 2026 08:47:13
It's been our problem with a lot of players. We say they are not good enough for us, but then moan that we are not selling them for big fees.
A loan makes sense if no offers meeting our value, hopefully, goes well and they buy him.
03 Sep 2026 08:52:53
We are happy to take Godfrey and Nedlakovic on loans, yet we moan re Aasgaard.
03 Sep 2026 09:15:42
Would rather see money come in, for sure, but this is modern football, and deals like this are more common. We could have demanded a fee and not got our valuation, or a lower fee with add ons, but at the end of the day it is better he will be playing, assuming he doesn't end up warming their bench.
He never hit the heights with us, but because he does ok for Norway, some people think we should be demanding £15m and he's definitely not worth that.
03 Sep 2026 09:17:35
My opinion on Aasgaard is that our game moves too fast for him, and he has struggled to adjust. There is clear ability there, but he isn't suited for our game. A loan is disappointing, but there is the option and we make a profit if that's taken up.
03 Sep 2026 09:19:49
Papac, Manny definitely played a part in the goal we conceded as well. Watch it again.
03 Sep 2026 09:30:25
Aasgaard wants away, he isn't up for Scottish football, he's a lazy lazy player who I see playing for himself and not the team. Get rid. Well done Rangers, another dud out the door who is nowhere near what's needed.
Well done to Derek and the team for getting the 3 points last night, hark back a year to a 1 each draw under RM, that's progress! We are building a very good team, I'm excited to see them gel and progress together.
Next couple of games are massive markers in their season. Wins against Motherwell and St Mirren will be crucial.
03 Sep 2026 09:35:17
My problem with the Aasgaard situation isn't the loan, it's the option for 7m. He could look a real player with a run of games.
03 Sep 2026 09:41:14
I'm glad he's off the wage bill and closer to a sale.
I think what people aren't happy with us, we should have negotiated harder for an obligation.
03 Sep 2026 09:59:38
Where's this Kelsey? Apparently on the plane last week. Where was he heading, the moon?
Maybe AV missed the news or something.
03 Sep 2026 10:00:07
The commentators on Sky Sports were out of order, literally mocking Fernandez on live TV. If I was the big man, I would be suing them. No need for that, and totally unprofessional.
03 Sep 2026 10:06:24
It's pretty easy to understand why so many are p!ssed at loan.
We are terrible at selling!
Just sell him! Find a suiter and sell him!
03 Sep 2026 10:15:19
For the goal, Manny was marking their CF, who tugged his shirt as he turned to run. He did go down far too easily, but, given his man didn't score and it was a diverted attempt to clear the ball, I am not sure how he could be at fault. 🤷
03 Sep 2026 10:50:11
Seriously, did Fernandez bully some of you in school? So, other than the pass, what did he do wrong? The goal, he was fouled; a shirt pull is a foul, and for the rest of the game, every other pull was a foul. His pass wasn't all his fault if you actually look at it, midfield doesn't show for the ball (been a problem all season & near the end of last season), the wingbacks pushed far too forward & Makhanya was too far away, so who's he supposed to pass to? Punting the ball away achieved nothing too.
He won pretty much everything.
