Afternoon all,
Few things.
Jen's Hetro Dahl is progressing. Club and player have agreed a deal. Similar conditions to the one agreed in march however delayed as we did not get into champions league. Structure of the deal is progressing and Rangers are committed.
Dragojevic starts for Partizan, deal may not be as far down the line as reported. Don't think we'll see him in the blue shirt.

Scott McKenna may be a one to keep an eye on for later in the window. A player DM really likes.
we are targeting a right winger and a left footed centre back keep a close eye on that developing.
Penrice is a no go, he'll be likely into English Championship team. PC at Norwich or Blackburn.
Fernandes has huge interest from palace, I suspect Rangers will have our biggest sale broken in the coming weeks.

12 Jul 2026 16:36:36
Hope we stay clear of McKenna, another Souttar with mistakes in him and a bit of a thug for me similar to Porteous in attitude.

12 Jul 2026 16:40:21
Thanks for the update, Union. It's all coming together nicely. Would like to hear us mentioned with a better CB opinion with only a few weeks to go.

12 Jul 2026 16:41:31
Expect both Fernandez and Raskin to break our transfer records. Anything less than 25m for each, and we shouldn't be contemplating! That amount of cash can seriously help us make the squad much stronger.

12 Jul 2026 16:43:08
I really can't see us allowing Souttar to leave and planning to sell many. We have so much to do, it just feels like we are leaving ourselves an absolute mountain to do with incomings.

12 Jul 2026 16:45:12
Hate McKenna as a player, really don't rate him.

12 Jul 2026 16:46:37
McKenna is a Celtic fan. He has spoken in interviews about going to his first Celtic game as a kid and how amazing he thought the stadium was, etc.

As long as he is fully committed to Rangers, he can be an asset. We don't want another Michael O'Halloran here.

12 Jul 2026 17:09:39
Been a lot of players who have played fantastic for both sides, but supporting the other team, I don't see any harm in it.

12 Jul 2026 17:21:38
Still waiting on a signing to blow my socks off. So far imo, it's journeymen pros just filling blanks of the left, or due to go soon. Are we stronger than last year? As yet, can't see it tbh.

12 Jul 2026 17:26:44
Union, I'm told we only need to agree structure of payment re Dahl.

12 Jul 2026 17:34:22
Excellent news, John.

Union, any idea on the LB we had agreed deal with?

12 Jul 2026 17:53:28
Bar72, I take it you didn't watch us last season? Signing Hearts starting 11 would be an improvement on last season, fs.

12 Jul 2026 18:01:56
Shankland in top 5 players in league isn't an improvement?
Mcorrie isn't an improvement on Aaron's?
Pandur, jury's out on whether he's an improvement on Butland.
Same with Godfrey with Dijga.
Neil is added to squad, and I think will be brilliant; respect views of others that the league he comes from has scar tissue.

Don't think it's fair to say we haven't improved, but we 100% need more, and I think judging by links Dahl, Cerny, Dragojevic we will add the real quality to squad after a good few steady pros in Shankland, Mcorrie and Devlin.

12 Jul 2026 18:10:53
John, see Doekhi on a free transfer to Lazio, likely destination. Wonder if we could try re tempt him.

12 Jul 2026 18:14:20
Hard to disagree, Wishy, Shankland, Mccrorie, Pandur, Godfrey and Neil are all definetly upgrades on the likes of Aaron's Djiga etc, but I think most fans will hope that's the sensible, easy to conclude, if you will, loan replacement signings done. As for quality, our best players and biggest assets (Chermiti, Raskin, Manny and Dio to a degree) are all still in the door. I'd expect 3 of those to be gone come end of the window and their replacements will need to be the marquees.

Just hope we don't leave ourselves short by selling too late and not properly replacing.

None of that even includes the centre back or two we need, the back up fullbacks and the winger or 2 needed, so I imagine it'll be a busy end to the window and an exciting one at that, fellow bears!

12 Jul 2026 18:16:56
Think that ship has sailed, Peterpanloyal. Was heavily linked in January under Rohl and under Martin and too before. If he was ever going to be a Rangers player, I think it would've happened by now.
But you never know, stranger has happened, and I hope I'm wrong because I think he's a better quality than everything we have including Big Manny.

12 Jul 2026 18:33:38
Mcrorie is no upgrade on anyone. Devlin is a desperate signing, let's hope it gets better, cause it certainly doesn't sound like it.

12 Jul 2026 18:47:40
Ajd, McRorie is a good player and has come on a lot since leaving.

12 Jul 2026 18:53:22
Come on, enough that he's going to help us win things. Come on now, you can't believe that. We will be lucky to make 3rd again at this rate.

12 Jul 2026 18:53:30
I think Mcorrie will surprise people right away.

12 Jul 2026 18:53:34
Might as well throw the towel in if the McKenna rumour comes to fruition! Can't believe anyone is a fan of McKenna, surely not. ? Deary me, that's ruined my day big time. What would be the point of selling Souttar and bringing in McKenna, they're like for like! In fact, that's a bit unfair on Souttar.

Souttar's as slow as a week in the jail, while McKenna's as slow as two! Awful player.

12 Jul 2026 18:54:33
McCrorie is an upgrade on Tav who was done about 2 years ago.

12 Jul 2026 18:56:06
McCrorie is an upgrade on Aarons and Tavernier now, Ajd. When was the last time you saw him play? He was good for Bristol City.

12 Jul 2026 19:13:28
Good for Bristol City, is that really our level? Come on now.

12 Jul 2026 19:15:18
James Tavernier was done 2 years ago? That's mental. He was nominated for Scotland's PFA POTY award in the summer of 2024.

12 Jul 2026 19:20:25
Ajd, I really don't understand what you're getting at. Good for a club playing in a much stronger league, with a better quality of player.

12 Jul 2026 19:20:26
Mckenna is rubbish, about as good as Ohalloran.

12 Jul 2026 19:36:09
McCrorie will do stellar job for us, there's no doubt bout that.

Expect him to eventually move into centre back in his 30s.

12 Jul 2026 18:59:52
If you really think mcrorie is an upgrade on Tav then your deluded yes Tav struggled at times but he still contributed a huge amount of assists and goals so don't be so disrespectful

12 Jul 2026 19:03:50
Unionjack1, are you actually hearing mcinnes is interested in signing scott mckenna for us mate ?Are you hearing anything at all regarding ryan porteous ?

12 Jul 2026 19:41:29
Ok, Rohl with cheese, let's say 23 months then.

12 Jul 2026 19:41:30
And are you sure you're a Rangers fan, so negative!! That's the problem, we have all these fans that know it all about the players ability etc, McCrorrie is a decent signing and will prove loads wrong this year, instead of flagging players off, get behind the dm and his squad.

12 Jul 2026 19:43:24
For the guys who have come in, I have stated my opinion on all of them. For those still to come in, I will state my opinion on them.

For the ones I don't rate, I will support and hope they shove my opinions down my throat and prove me wrong. ?

12 Jul 2026 20:06:31
Wishy I'd be better than Aarons & so would quite literally anyone would be. He's a player I never wanted near us. McCrorie is an upgrade to Sterling, cause he's always injured & isn't as good as people say & we have no one else. Remember playing in the Championship means you'll be a failure here.

Is Godfrey better than Djiga? Jury is out on that one. Godfrey hasn't played more than 30 games in a season for 5 years & we're hanging our hat on him. Djiga improved massively under Rohl, & will get better as he's still young.

Shankland is 31 years old in August.

He'll need replacing in a season or two when his body inevitably starts failing him. He already had a spell out injured last season.

I really don't think we are better placed squad wise than last season. Window is still open for a while, but we still lack players in key areas & focusing on the wrong positions. Bring in like for like. Neil could be a great signing, but has he been brought into play as a 6 or a 8? I hope 8. We need forward thinking midfielders. Dahl will be one if we get him over the line, but we need more than one.

12 Jul 2026 20:18:15
Ajd, not as deluded as you thinking Tavernier wasn't coming to the end of his career. Will ask again, when was the last time you seen McCrorie play?

12 Jul 2026 20:23:45
Some absolutely wild comments getting fired out today, jeez, man. Back your team for God's sake. Signings so far are really solid if not spectacular. People need to realise where we are in the market these days.

12 Jul 2026 20:49:33
McKenna is an Aberdeen fan. Not sure where the Celtic tag comes from. And slow? Anything but slow. Would be a huge asset for us if we can get that over the line but has interest all over Europe for a reason.

12 Jul 2026 20:36:18
Ajd, can see through you a mile my dear negative, obsessive friend ?

12 Jul 2026 21:03:15
McKenna is not as good as Souttar, positional sense murder, decision making poor as well, big No for me.

12 Jul 2026 21:20:10
What fecking difference does it make which team he "supports"? This place is bonkers for that. ?

12 Jul 2026 21:30:47
Albertz, he's definitely slow! His lack of pace is his main weakness, mate. Nottingham Forest fans hated him for it, got tore to shreds every other week while playing in the Premier League because of his pace (or lack of). He's a carthorse!

12 Jul 2026 21:42:29
Star, think Ajd is just looking for some attention. Don't bite.

12 Jul 2026 22:25:45
Ajd, the only one being disrespectful is you, by slagging the team and not getting behind the staff and players, true Rangers fans will back the team no matter what

12 Jul 2026 22:49:12
Albertz McKenna being a Celtic fan comes from McKenna himself and the majority of people know this.

12 Jul 2026 23:21:34
Defo Celtic man.

12 Jul 2026 23:39:21
Scott McKenna is 100% a Celtic fan.

He told The Scotsman: "My dad was a Celtic season-ticker holder. I went to a few Celtic games round the time they were doing well in Europe.

"I remember being there when Alan Thompson scored versus Barcelona. I used to love going to a midweek game at Parkhead under the lights."

McKenna comes up against his former suitors on Sunday but, despite admitting his affection for the Bhoys, the big centre-back revealed that sentiment 'goes out of the window' when he is facing them with the Dons.

He added: "Of course, when you play against Celtic for Aberdeen I want Aberdeen to win. When you become a professional and it's your job, supporting Celtic goes out of the window. You play for Aberdeen and you want the best for Aberdeen."

13 Jul 2026 09:37:26
RohlWithCheese, it wouldn't concern me what club he supported, we all make mistakes.

13 Jul 2026 10:13:57
Surely the guys coming in are better than the guys they replaced? Shankland is a goal machine. Why you wouldn't be buzzing with that 1 alone escapes me.
The thing a lot of you are missing is not just their footballing ability but their mental ability as leaders. Most of the players we signed were club captains or vice captains and that was all we were short of post split games.
The GK looks very good from what I've watched from him, and Butland has been a liability in past 2 seasons, with numerous howlers, especially against VARtic.

Aaron's or an ex Rangers player who was here for over a decade who can play multiple positions? Shankland or Danilo? Neil, a player who runs through brick walls for his team, as tenacious as they come just like Devlin but even better. We get players like that to get ball back asap and their enthusiasm to press and win 1st and 2nd balls will run off on rest of the team.
Add stardust of Dahl and Cerny and you have a team that is 30% better imo.
