John, we use the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP) for a number of reasons.
First of all, we don't have a world class facility in Scotland where a full medical can be conducted in one place. So, rather than a medical taken 10-12 hours over three locations in the city, it can be done in 3-4 hours.
Logistically, the facility is a perfect location, as its size means there's always plenty of availability, and its location next to a major airport means players can come and go in one day at relatively short notice.
Lastly, media wise, it offers a level of privacy for players and the club. No more leaks from airport security or city centre hotel staff.
