What's your thoughts guys

Being told of a central midfield complete overhaul barring Chokwuani

Too be honest, if we are looking for a CDM with the characteristics we are looking for now, composure in possession being a key component of that profile, then I feel Barron would not fit that criteria

Hearing we have interest in all three Raskin, Dio and Barron

26 May 2026 20:12:50
Barron stays for me, unless stupid money for him, 7/8m, Diomande should have moved last year, not fussed about Raskin either, hopefully a good fee and change after signing Ferguson. ?

26 May 2026 20:16:54
Fine by me, think they have under-performed in most games, not got many goals from midfield, so hopefully that changes.
Get decent money for Raskin and Dio, hopefully Bologna were looking at Barron and if we could afford Ferguson, use Barron as part of any deal if he wants to go to Italy.
Just hope we replace with better, so time will tell.

26 May 2026 20:19:10
I think part of the plan would be to keep Barron and develop him with the support of an experienced Number 6.

If we get rid of all our midfield, GK and most of our defence then we will have a new team for next season. We better just hope we all click really early. That would mean signing another 5-6 MF. Just don't see that.

26 May 2026 20:22:23
Sco, good thinking, Barron and 8m or similar, think you'd get him for 12m.

26 May 2026 20:23:44
Our midfield is a mess.

CDMs Cifu, Rice.

CMs Raskin, Barron, Diomande, Chukwuani, Nsio.

CAMs Thelo, Cameron, Bajrami.

It's not as big a mess as the defense, mind you.

26 May 2026 20:25:44
Barron must stay for me. Was one of very few that always ran himself ragged & was really doing well until his injury.

26 May 2026 20:36:47
I agree, EHL, many have to go to start afresh again. I call the likes of Raskin as the "Tavernier era", theology isn't good or brave enough. Dio has passed his sell by date, although still a good player.

Barron I love and would keep as a back up 6, and Bajrami I always feel was never played properly, another talent wasted. I love how the boy still celebrates wildly when the team score, shame about him. Djiga needs to go along with Aaron's, but I would like Souttar staying.

I'm not totally convinced that Fernandez is as good as some other people say, I could be wrong there, but if a serious question is asked finance wise then he will probably be sold too.

All in all about 9 new signings required with similar numbers going out, and I am certainly not ruling Mikey Moore back either. I'm hoping for Ferguson, Shankland and a good keeper and CH for starters.

26 May 2026 20:40:24
Absolutely criminal if we sell Barron. He could be the next captain, certainly a future captain. I think he's our best midfielder and definitely our most hard working. Even regardless of a healthy bid, I'd still not sell. The team should be built around Barron.

26 May 2026 20:45:20
Correct, EHL.

Hearing Bajrami has already agreed a deal in principal with a club in Italy.

Cameron's not happy, as he is being hawked around the SPL as a makeweight and wants away on a permanent.

Heard we tried to get Rice to sign a new deal, then loan him out, but he is keen to try something new.

Cifu won't be coming back, there's interest in him from clubs in the MSL.

Barron is also keen to try something new, and we all know Raskin wants away. Dio, what I heard is actually ok in staying, but our preference is to sell.

This isn't new news, guys, gossip that's been doing the rounds around the team for weeks now, may give context to our very messy end to the season.

26 May 2026 20:51:56
Barron is a good player who'll batter away in games, but he's got a lot to work on.
Namely his passing of the ball.

Our midfield has been awful for years, in not helping the forward areas of the pitch, not chipping in with goals at all.

I'd happily sell Dio Raskin and near the rest of the midfield, if I'm honest. We need a complete rebuild there.

26 May 2026 20:55:07
Dio has been rumoured to want away for ages, he didn't enjoy it under Clement and he was a rotational player last season. I don't think he has the right mindset to be a Rangers player, picks when he wants to play, lazy tackles getting himself sent off or booked, on his day and in flashes he looks a player but he has never been consistent with it.

26 May 2026 21:17:46
God, EHL, when you put it like that, there is a lot of dead weight to be moved on. I wouldn't be upset at Raskin moving as I think we would get good money for him and we need to get the ball rolling with player trading.
Dio is a good player on his day, but again happy for him to move.

Barron, agree with mystar, wouldn't sell unless it was 7/8m.
Cameron always liked him but not fancied by Rohl so would sell.
Bajrami, Cifuentes sell.
Asgaard I'd keep, think he will have a better second season when he can start to deal with the demands mentally.

26 May 2026 21:39:53
7-8million for Barron, are we having a laugh?

26 May 2026 21:42:02
Tom, Fernandez is better than you think he is, but unfortunately not as good as he thinks he is.

26 May 2026 21:51:25
Gersman, having a laugh? Aberdeen sell Miovski for £6.5m, Hibs sell Bowie for £6m, we sold Jefte for £6m, Motherwell sell Miller for £5.5m, Aberdeen sold Ramsay for £4.9m. So tell me why our own young midfielder who's had interest from England and Italy shouldn't be the same or more than those?

26 May 2026 21:55:35
Posted previously that Barron has serious interest from Italy. The injury earlier in the season impacted a move.

26 May 2026 22:03:05
Bologna have a noted interest in Barron.

Could offer him and cash for Ferguson.

26 May 2026 22:04:42
Mols, as he's not worth that in my opinion, that's why, and you can rhyme off all the sales other clubs and what we've made, he was struggling to get into our team, now we're wanting to sell for 7-8 million, just can't see it the now, that's not to say he's not worth that in the future.

26 May 2026 22:10:42
Exactly Mols.

26 May 2026 22:20:33
He was only struggling when he came back from injury though, as he started most games before that (13 from 19). Also played from start in 3 of top 6 split games. Is that really struggling for a game? Injury stopped a decent run of performances as well.

26 May 2026 22:26:47
Spot on, Ehl. I've thought for a while now it's the midfield that's been our problem for a while, as we've not dominated games in a long time.

26 May 2026 22:28:35
Sorry, but have to agree fully with Mols.
Bang on - and not because of other player sales, but because Barron is a great wee player and has a tremendous engine.
Of course he's worth that and he's only going to get better with more quality and experience surrounding him.

I really want him to stay at Rangers and build his career with us.
Hope he stays this season and then makes a decision next year when we're champions.

26 May 2026 22:35:33
Forever, it's not just ball retention and creativity, it's also defensively they've been problematic. Not tracking runners and not showing that desire to get back. Communication and understanding each other looks poor as well on the pitch. Offensively, everything is slow and safe, with very little sharp short movements or blindside/late runs.

That's not going to work in this league or European level.

I will say Russell Martin got one quote or analysis right, and it's that too many in this team are out for themselves or their "egos", as he called it, and hopefully that's corrected this summer, which I believe it will be.

26 May 2026 22:37:06
Barron running himself ragged that is bare minimum for a Rangers player he is never a Rangers captain in a million years. ?‍♂️
Run about and the fans love you Jesus Christ. He is good for back up and fits the Scottish quota that is all.

26 May 2026 22:51:27
I thought we saw the best of Dio under Clement. Wouldn't be surprised if Norwich come in for him.

26 May 2026 23:00:17
Mols, some are still stuck in 2006 rather than 2026 with valuations.

26 May 2026 23:08:42
Storm, you say bare minimum, but we don't see the same energy from the rest this last season?
Hopefully that's rectified and we see clear progress in players coming in this summer.
So that's why Barron stands out, a player playing for the badge.
It's what we all say in here all the time.

We want a player to give his all whilst on the pitch.
Barron delivers that - whether you think he's good enough or not, he's giving 100%.
Is that not what we look for from all players?

Imagine what can be achieved if every player gives 100%.

26 May 2026 23:44:24
I struggle to see how anyone could watch the last Old Firm match and think Barron is a future captain.

His use of the ball was absolutely shocking at times.

I like the lad and think he could do a job, but in an ideal world he doesn't play very often, as we have much better at our disposal.

That said we need to go and find those players.

Elliot Watt is far better than Barron imo.

26 May 2026 23:56:19
I like Barron, but a realistic value is probably closer to £5-6million. Would keep him and sell Dio and Raskin and get 3 good quality midfielders in with the cash.

27 May 2026 03:46:37
Would rather keep Dio than Raskin at this stage. I don't think both will leave.

27 May 2026 06:12:58
True Ayrshire, they all maybe look ok individually, but don't really work well together. I said a while back that we had too many similar players, only recently guys at Rangers review and elsewhere started picking that up and running with it.

27 May 2026 06:19:08
Glad u seen that Zikos, a quality CM when their team's backs are against the wall. Tries to dictate play by getting the ball down and putting a string of passes together, not lumping it up the field as often and as hard as possible.

We need much much much better. Good guy, but not Rangers quality even as a back up.

Dio is a really nice guy, loves the club, but I do feel the club wants more than he can give, hence why we are looking to cash in.

If we can get £25-£30min for all three, I would be happy.

Use that money to get Neil and Watt for standards, both serious upgrades on what we have currently. Would love a real quality experienced CDM bought as well, as well as a quality CAM.

27 May 2026 06:22:36
Yes, Angus only in the team after the split because Raskin was injured wasn't getting a look in after his injury, so I would say he was struggling to get back in the team.

27 May 2026 07:00:08
German, why would it be stupid money, or did you miss reading that park?

27 May 2026 07:01:19
I don't think the midfield needs a big overhaul. It needs a couple of number 6 types, and I hope that's a priority. Guys like Chuck, Raskin, and Diomande will all benefit from having someone like that in the team.

27 May 2026 07:03:27
German, luckily your opinion nor mine are worthy of Barron value. It's what a team will bid for him that matters. You don't know if he's worth 6m. Could be 10m for all we know, or maybe 3. We wait and see.

27 May 2026 07:08:28
Part.

27 May 2026 08:37:32
Yeah, I read that part. That's why I said having a laugh at that valuation, even being stupid money.

Yeah, Davie, you're right, but that's my opinion, or am I not allowed an opinion? And, of course, it's what a club will pay for him, that's not rocket science. If no club bid for him, then he won't be sold.

I want to keep Barron, as I think he could be a good squad player. I just don't get the hype for him, like building the team round him. He's not even in the Scotland squad, and don't blame him, he's just back from injury as others are called up who have been injured.

27 May 2026 09:27:33
German, go re read my reply regarding what you say is your opinion on, or are you not allowed 1. I'll give you a clue. Read the top line of my reply.

27 May 2026 09:54:34
You'd also read, Barron and 8m for Ferguson, valuing Ferguson at 12m, Gersman.

27 May 2026 11:21:20
My star I'd do that deal the now.
