Danny Rohl has just stated at his presser he has been assured he will be at the club next season. So we can bin the rumours around that and move onto transfer targets
12 May 2026 10:28:56
He's not going to say he's going, and Gerrard said he was asked stupid questions before sodding off a week later. Only time will tell.
12 May 2026 10:36:46
Only thing you ever have to revert back to is SG. Do I look happy. Also, if we end up losing last 2, that's 5 on the bounce. Does any Rangers manager survive that? A lot can change.
12 May 2026 10:50:33
YoungBlue, Danny Rohl undoubtedly is the Rangers manager next season, pal. No question about it. ?
12 May 2026 10:52:24
Let's start talking about signings Rohl, Cavanagh and Stig can possibly make to make us top dogs again, because the Rohl staying or going has been put to bed. ? The focus is now who we could sign. ?
12 May 2026 10:54:20
Peter, I've said he needs to win the 2, even drawing one and winning one is terrible.
12 May 2026 10:58:22
Coops, under Danny Rohl, Rangers will have a battle for 4th and 5th with Hibs and Motherwell.
I have zero hope. It's a 2 horse race next season, and we ain't in the race. Simple as that. The good y s worse than Barry.
12 May 2026 11:07:42
Another season with no league title.
12 May 2026 11:14:03
Another season without a trophy.
12 May 2026 11:24:16
Rohl has my full backing. We are far too quick to just chop and change, especially when we have one of the most talented young managers at the moment. Given a summer to build his team, I think we will win the league at a canter next year.
12 May 2026 11:36:44
What talent has he displayed?
We're a bomb scare at the back, our forward play is slow and lethargic. The team is changed every game with no guaranteed starting 11. Personally, I believe his head is not in the game, since it was reported his family are very unhappy with him being separated for so long.
I won't speak badly of the guy, but it's just not clicked, unfortunately.
12 May 2026 11:51:20
Is Sir Walter Danny Rohl's da?
12 May 2026 11:56:23
Good post, Jasper.
The biggest argument I hear for him to stay is we will have a team full of new players, my issue with that is that he still doesn't have a system or style that I can see, so again it will be a team of individuals.
We need a manager who will bind a team together, DR, for me, will struggle with that regardless of who we sign.
12 May 2026 12:01:12
Look, I don't want him here next year, and if he goes then we move on. The top to bottom needs to change in approach and implementation. We need to bin the ethos of the high pressing, fast flowing football, which is cool for around 12 European games but not for the 50+ domestic. The player trading model is failing and is seriously hindering our own youth development. So, being objective.
Dr will need to adapt and sign players accordingly. Squad needs to be more pragmatic. Maybe that's been noted and discussed? ??
Any players already targeted and have agreed to come, an issue is created if a new manager arrives and of sets things already in place.
??
Develop our own players for quantity and buy experience winners for the quality. ??
We are not a winning squad and the mentality of players is questionable, so we have few sellable assets, sell those now and invest. No new contracts to protect investment. That approach has cost us millions over the years. Hot to trot, get rid. ??
Maybe that's been noted.
What ever happens, if he goes by November next year then get ready for new owners.
12 May 2026 12:06:17
4th or 5th? I get u don't want him, but that's just being ridiculous. He did much better than Hibs and Motherwell with this bunch, so work that one out.
12 May 2026 12:06:17
Oh, forgot to mention, no DOF. Keep the pyramid of accountability small.
12 May 2026 12:13:16
So he's apparently going to be here next year. This is rather disappointing. His inability to control games with 40 million worth of signings is not what we need. He threw away the league when 10 man Motherwell equalised against us whilst they were playing us off the park. Losing 8 goals in 3 games is not the calibre of players purchased, it's the manager's style.
Don't forget, we were absolutely hopeless in Europe with him at the helm. His best signing was the set piece coach, as he made us look more dangerous than any of Rohl's tactics. Here we go again, and hopefully a manager and not a coach is available come October when they realise that we have made the same mistake. Pretty sure the definition of insanity is amongst this cycle.
12 May 2026 12:32:36
Cavenagh backed Martin, Thelwell and Stewart. All were given the sack not long after.
12 May 2026 12:33:31
I agree with Sir Walter.
imo, Dr didn't spend £40m. Thelwell spent the bulk of that. We all thought in October that it was the worst squad in history and that we had peed the money up the wall. These are mostly the same players who aren't good enough. The players that were here last season weren't good enough. Rm has clearly a very bad appointment and shouldn't have been, but we are going into the same loop again by wanting the manager sacked.
He isn't faultless, however, the blame seems to be falling directly on him. What about the pre-October recruitment and the poor playing squad? We all have short memories!
Give Dr a proper chance with his own squad and let's start talking about player in's and out's.
12 May 2026 12:36:56
De Boer, it just seems so very obvious to me that Cavanagh was always going to give Rohl time to build his own team. If others can't grasp that, then that's not my problem. ? My choice wasn't him originally, but I just used my head and thought why Cavanagh would keep him, that's all it is, mate. ?
12 May 2026 12:37:40
See the 40 million thing. I think it's a bit of a daft argument. If money guaranteed success, Chelsea would be the champions of the world every year. They've spent literal billions. Anyone think Garnacho is a world beater or any of the other numerous expensive signings?
Yes, we spent 40 million, but it doesn't guarantee the player is up to it. Look at Anthony, went to Man United for like 80m, flopped big time, has gone to Betis and is a superstar in La Liga.
Some players don't suit certain leagues.
This is not a defence of Rohl. It's just a pointless comment in my eyes, as spending big doesn't guarantee success.
On the Stevie G lines, he's going to Burnley, let it go, guys. He's not coming back. Acceptance is your friend. Until Rohl is proven a liar, I'm going to take him at his word, because he could have deflected the question or given a vague answer; he didn't have to go all in, but he did.
12 May 2026 12:39:23
Another season gone, and once again there's been no fight, no grit, and no real desire to win. As soon as any pressure is applied, we fall apart- it's been the same story time and time again. With Rohl in charge, that cycle will only continue unless he addresses it properly during pre-season.
He has a big job on his hands.
The mentality has to change, and that means getting rid of players who can't cope when it matters and bringing in those who can handle the pressure. Most importantly, we have to start the season strongly. If we don't, it'll just be deja vu all over again- another year of the same problems, rinse and repeat.
12 May 2026 12:43:21
The cost to dismiss is relevant, another club wanting him may be the thought with the owners, but is not safe. What else could they say right now? It's like asking an employee what they think of the bosses. You rarely see "na mate I cannot stand them" in the building or outside the building.
This is the message we get, "all is fine don't panic buy your season tickets and carry on we will sort everything or ask someone that actually knows the game. Like Thelwell for example, mind him?"
12 May 2026 12:43:40
We need a proper manager, but I would also ask why Stig is still around the place. He came in as temporary support, now he seems permanent, but why? Head of recruitment is another role that we need somebody who knows the club and the league.
Lee McCulloch was mentioned, and that sounds like a good idea to me, and get some of our ex players to help find players. I remember years ago John Brown finding Cuellar when he was actually at a game looking at somebody else. It's insight like that we need.
12 May 2026 13:07:40
Think we should wait until next week to see his future, he probably deserves a pre-season, but can't see title coming with him in charge to be fair, owners need to get it right and, in my opinion, a figurehead is the way to go.
12 May 2026 13:15:05
Chelsea are world champions, Ayrshire. ?
12 May 2026 13:19:26
Can I ask where online it says SG is going to Burnley?
12 May 2026 13:21:19
Cavanagh is now the question??? The whole Rangers Group doesn't have a clue!! We are in good hands we were told on this site??? Really
12 May 2026 13:32:38
Why would a proper manager come, we only give them 6 months. ??♂️
12 May 2026 15:33:39
Money alone does not guarantee success, that is correct, indeed, esp for other leagues. Any club spending 40 mill in Scotland, however, should be challenging for the title over the whole season & end up with at least one trophy.
Bar that lot, all other Scottish teams are on a fraction of our budget, yet somehow they all improve & we get worse. I just don't get it. ??♂️
12 May 2026 16:31:30
Mass 79, aye mate, agreed.
12 May 2026 23:34:32
Jasper, sorry for singling out your comment, but saying we are slow to build up play or don't get forward quick enough is part of the problem. Big Phil transitioned every time we won the ball. It was like a basketball game.
Quicker you go forward, the quicker you lose it. The best teams dominate the ball.
I'm
not saying we don't play forward quickly when we are ready to do so or set traps to catch a team on the ball and we are overloaded, but dominate the ball, break the low block with wide triangles. Get men in the team who calm things down. That, for me, is how we get the most points.
13 May 2026 02:51:55
I don't see the logic in your thoughts on where Rangers will finish, considering what he took over and the way it has gone up until the split.
There have been huge mistakes, yes, but don't think we can land most of them at Rohl's door. Think Skov 100% club signing, considering we've tracked him from youth in Denmark and made previous attempts at signing him.
Still think Chuckie and Naderi, his signings, rest clubs (opinion) for how bad our window was under Martin. We've done ok, people seem to forget where we were and prob those same people that were saying we would not qualify for Europe.
