Read a report that Roberto Martinez is contemplating calling our Rangers striker youssef Chermiti up to the Portugal world cup squad from his current position in the Portugal under 21 squad ?
03 Mar 2026 18:16:02
Sws, That would be great for him and us, mate.
03 Mar 2026 18:37:26
Adds to his value.
03 Mar 2026 18:59:16
What a turnaround for the boy, amazing. ? I was in the he's piss camp, get rid of him. But I am so happy I was wrong. ?
03 Mar 2026 18:59:41
Good news. Hopefully, it gives him extra incentive to push towards the squad.
03 Mar 2026 20:56:22
There is definitely a player there, and I've thought that from the start. You see goals like he's scored in the Old Firm and against Hearts, which shows he can finish, and he is good off the ball most of the time in terms of hold up play. I agree with most of the previous conversations on here that he does need to score more.
I think he can and will. Still young, adapting to a new country, a new league, and so on, but he has improved and long may it continue. Ready to play for Portugal? I'm not sure, but it would surely give him a confidence boost, and it's good his name is in the conversation.

SWS, I would think it would be a call up for friendlies prior to the World Cup, to see about a possible call up for the actual WC squad. I could be wrong though.
03 Mar 2026 21:44:56
Can someone confirm we're not going to Fir Park in the split? Martin in the Rabble keeps spouting this pish that we are.
03 Mar 2026 22:11:42
Rangers have 2 home games and 3 away after the split. We are due to play away to Hearts and the East End. Home to Hibs and Motherwell. The final fixture will probably be Falkirk away for a 3rd time.
The issue that will arise is, post-split, Rangers, Hearts, Motherwell and Falkirk are all due to have 2 home and 3 away fixtures, with Hibs and the Timotheys having 3 home and 2 away games.
This means someone (Falkirk probably) will get an extra home fixture. For things to "even out", I'm guessing Falkirk will get a 3rd game away to Hearts and Celtic, have Motherwell and Hibs at home (which is what they should have), and a 3rd home game v Rangers.

Thanks.
03 Mar 2026 22:21:18
I backed him from his first game.
I could clearly see he had great technique, good touch, and vision when passing diagonal balls.
I was slaughtered for backing him.
03 Mar 2026 23:05:57
You did that, Stevie, but this 'he can't play up top on his own' is nonsense as well. Supply him and he'll score. That is the problem with us using one cf; we never give him good enough service.
04 Mar 2026 00:11:13
It was said last week or the week before that Moore couldn't play cf. Moore has played 8 games as a centre forward; he scored 11 goals and 4 assists.
England U20.
04 Mar 2026 05:20:59
Gers 70, Rangers will be at home to Motherwell and Hibs after the split and away to Celtic, Hearts and Falkirk, mate. ?
04 Mar 2026 08:28:41
He clearly can't play up top on his own. Never scores when he does. Been saying it since we signed him that he's the type of striker that needs someone up front with him. That's way forward and only chance we have of winning league in my opinion.
04 Mar 2026 09:21:10
You need to supply him on his own, Halfprice. He played four times in a front three for Portugal U21, 2 goals. Supply the ammunition and he'll score, as seen on Sunday with balls from Olsen. Our problem is supporting him in the box. Chermiti can't do it himself in the box alongside 4/5 defenders. This "he can't play alone" is just more nonsense.
04 Mar 2026 09:31:57
Perhaps with a fully fit Olsen and a better left winger, we can see the best of him on his own. Rommens will help improve that too, and then a new right back.
04 Mar 2026 09:49:15
Supply and support Chermiti and he'll bring goals, Stevie.
04 Mar 2026 11:33:06
Halfprice, according to your profile you can't have said it from the start as you have 0 posts and 1 reply.
04 Mar 2026 11:41:25
Another Enigma.
Scores against Celtic and Hearts, no show against everyone else.
The polar opposite to the like of the other Enigma, Dessers.
04 Mar 2026 12:25:10
Sorry, Geesa, guess I can't have been saying he needs a strike partner to get the best out of him. There's a player in there, but to me the proof is there that he doesn't do it on his own.
04 Mar 2026 12:59:54
That boomerang returned, Halfprice? Scores in 50% playing in a front three for Portugal u21. Supply him, he'll get goals. Loved big Dessers, Ally, but Chermiti is a step up in ability.
04 Mar 2026 13:10:44
If I'm being honest, I would rather have had Dessers this season. Dessers would have won us many of the games we dropped off. I like Chermiti, but he has only scored in 4 or 5 games this season. Brilliant when he's on it, but we need our number 9 to turn up against smaller teams as well.
04 Mar 2026 13:26:00
You need to supply him with teams sitting in. It could be Haaland, not any supply, no goals. And how do I have a tantrum if anyone disagrees with me? That's kinda childish chat. That is my opinion on things.
04 Mar 2026 13:26:09
Half price boomerang for sale. Only on the shelves (forum) for 24 hours. Buy quick before it's gone. :)
04 Mar 2026 13:29:10
Chermiti's first proper season in football, and even being considered for the Portugal squad should say something.
04 Mar 2026 14:16:00
Thanks Walter.
04 Mar 2026 14:51:07
Half Price. Dessers only scored two or 3 goals that actually won us games last season. Haha, the stats are there for everyone to see.
Dessers never scored the winning goal.
Chermiti and Dessers playing together might have been good, to be fair.
04 Mar 2026 15:55:41
Who said Moore couldn't play upfront on his own?
Also, you keep calling the Motherwell goalscorer a right winger, and he has played on the right 8 times, played on the left, and as a striker a lot more than that - a hell of a lot more. ?
05 Mar 2026 01:52:16
Funny how some call out people for saying the striker can't play up front on his own, when he's the one that says two forwards don't work anymore, yet his best games have been with two up.
But hey, some people get shown favouritism, while other posts get rejected, even though they may be filled with facts, while theirs are filled with insults.
06 Mar 2026 07:39:33
Chermiti to the USA might not be such a far stretch. Apart from the fact that there's still a couple of months to go, so who knows what can happen between then and now, but also, Ronaldo is almost done, which leaves a gap in the forward spaces, if they see Chermiti as having future involvement, then integrating him into the squad at a major finals would make sense.
