Just read a report in the Daily Record there that Mikey Moore is tipped to move from spurs to Rangers permanently in the summer ? This would be a stunning piece of business and tremendous coup for us and is very hard to believe we could actually buy Mikey Moore permanently ???
23 Feb 2026 19:19:00
Think he'd be out of our price range, but a 2nd loan could be realistic.
23 Feb 2026 19:22:27
Can't see that happening, mate. Would be over the moon if it did. SWS. How much is Moore costing? Very good chance it's out of our reach.
23 Feb 2026 19:24:47
Funny money is required. tbh, I wouldn't if he continues to play him wide. He needs to be behind the strikers.
23 Feb 2026 19:25:14
That would be sensational business. Any idea how much for?
23 Feb 2026 19:46:49
Swsobe, the Daily Record?
23 Feb 2026 19:50:07
Do Barry Ferguson and Peter Grant know what Spurs' plans are now?
23 Feb 2026 19:53:26
Just Peter Grant's opinion. I doubt very much anything is in it, but you never know.
23 Feb 2026 20:29:22
The lads are on £42K/week.
I think another year-long loan for his development is feasible.
23 Feb 2026 20:29:45
Might depend on what the player wants too.
23 Feb 2026 20:44:20
Tottenham have him rated at over 30 million, so no way I see this.
23 Feb 2026 20:50:57
If we are not able to keep Mikey Moore beyond this season at Rangers, do we think young Findlay Curtis, currently at Kilmarnock on loan, can take his place in the Rangers first team as his replacement?. ?
23 Feb 2026 20:53:57
Don't want to be negative, but I would take anything from that paper as lazy journalism.
If we look at the last 2 windows, they have only found out about our transfer business because the selling club or journalists in other countries have quoted moves.
Tottenham are possibly in a relegation battle. Moore will be the last thing on their mind.
I can see another year on loan for European experience and more game time, but I doubt we would invest so much in one player, even though I highly rate him.
23 Feb 2026 21:50:44
Moore was playing behind the striker on Sunday, though, and wasn't great. Miovski came on at HT, Moore moved to the left then, and I thought he actually improved. 4 of his 5 goals in the league have come from wide positions. Stats don't seem to back up him being better in the middle.
23 Feb 2026 22:22:48
Maybe rated 30 million if someone in England wants to buy him. Different cost to different markets imo.
24 Feb 2026 02:59:11
£30million ? Aye, right. He's decent, but that's it for now: decent. How many players his age look good one season, then fall away? Too big a gamble, even at £7million for me.
24 Feb 2026 05:30:24
I'm sure Spurs are interested in Manny Fernandes, so maybe a swap with some money to them, or a similar deal might be had. Never rule it out, although my opinion would be he goes back to Spurs 1st team.
24 Feb 2026 07:21:58
Moore is a good player. Currently, he gives the ball away too much, but he'll probably learn. He doesn't have the physical attributes to attract serious money. Pace is everything in the EPL, and he doesn't have it. £30 million? Maybe, if he absolutely finds his A game every week, but no higher than that, and certainly not now.
24 Feb 2026 09:06:13
Over the course of the entire season so far, I personally would not pay the fee that Tottenham will no doubt ask for.
People absolutely love Moore for what?
He has been posted MIA in the majority of games this season, other than a short purple patch.
Same people writing off a player we have a realistic chance of signing, after 259 minutes of football.
24 Feb 2026 09:07:16
Think DR has definitely picked it up wrong. Spurs have come out publicly and said they'd welcome Moore to a second spell with us, as he wants it, is comfy here, and is growing well.
But they are definitely not selling him. Their fans love him too, and the media consider him the next big English star. He's done us all, though; we never fall for a loan player. ?
24 Feb 2026 09:23:39
I believe there may be some truth in this. If Spurs stay up, I think Moore may be allowed to return to us on loan, but if they are relegated, then there will be a huge rebuild there, and I think they will look to play him in the Championship.
24 Feb 2026 09:30:04
Think Tottenham might well need him in the Championship next season.
24 Feb 2026 09:50:59
Aphelion, because Moore is only an 18-year-old with outstanding potential, this is only folk mentioning it in the media anyway. Spurs won't be interested in selling him.
24 Feb 2026 10:14:00
Personally, I think Moore has done ok so far this season, but no better than that. I don't see why he's rated so highly. He's had some good moments, and he seems to go through purple patches, but he also disappears in games and isn't consistent enough or doesn't provide enough numbers in terms of goal involvements.
He is only 18, though, with further room for development. I can't see us buying him, as he would be way out of our price range, but there is a chance he returns on loan for next season, as he comes across as he genuinely wants to be playing here.
24 Feb 2026 10:38:54
Mikey Moore would cost about £20m - It's not going to happen.
I'm not even sure about him coming back on loan. The lad is a good player, but his end product is lacking. If you look at the teams around us, Motherwell have Maswanhise, and Celtic have Nygren. Both play wide/central. Both of those players have 14 goals each.
What Rangers lack badly up top is goal scorers. That needs to be addressed in the summer. When Moore's loan expires, sign a player that can get us numbers - like that lad from Motherwell. Sell Miovski and get someone in who can actually score. We need more of a threat up top.
24 Feb 2026 10:52:32
He is 18 and will be a very good player in the future, and I can't see us being remotely interested in a permanent signing because of the cost. If you had to grade him for the season, it would be 6 to 6.5, and that is being generous, imo. He is a very young player.
Angus, that post from you is spot on. ?
24 Feb 2026 11:49:39
Haud oan a minute. Storm agrees with Angus. Jesus wept. Need to lie doon. ??
24 Feb 2026 12:36:21
My star Rangers Football Club will not be paying 30 million for potential.
24 Feb 2026 13:07:01
Fork, it happens more often than you think, I suspect. We are just remembered for the little bickers we have. As Storm has said, both fans want the best for the club; they just have differing views on how that happens. ? He just realises that my opinion is right. ???
24 Feb 2026 13:14:08
John, that's why I can't see him being a Rangers player, mate.
24 Feb 2026 13:16:41
Still think it's weird anyone still reads the DR, never mind take anything seriously in its content.
24 Feb 2026 13:45:54
He's a great young prospect, but people act like he's the second coming of Laudrup or Gazza.
He has a long way to go, but yes, huge potential. I just can't see Spurs letting him go at this point; a loan to the Championship or Europe is next on the cards.
24 Feb 2026 15:19:41
John, Rangers Football Club won't be paying 30m for anyone, mate. ?
24 Feb 2026 16:17:08
He might be playing in the Championship next season.
24 Feb 2026 18:06:22
Rfc22, I think you're right. Not so long ago, Dr said he struggled to see Mikey Moore when he was on the park.
24 Feb 2026 19:58:49
All this chat over Peter Grant having a laff!
24 Feb 2026 22:29:30
We should not be looking at Moore to return unless it's a perm deal or a loan with an option to buy. We need to start developing our own players, or buy our own players.
25 Feb 2026 13:09:54
Peter Grant, and Barry Ferguson, full of inside info, them two.
No danger are we buying Moore, when we have our own homegrown star in the making in Curtis. Lads got the talent and potential to be as good, if not better, than Moore.
Give him a full season at LW next year and he will attack the opponents' box for the full 90 mins and get us goals. He is fearless on the ball.
