Got to give him a chance, he feels very much 5th or 6th on the list but he's played at a good standard and has plenty of years in front of him.
I'd love to see what our scouts don't see in the boy from Motherwell, it appears that either he has no interest in us or we have no interest in him.
EHL: given your experience both as a player and coach, do you see something poor in his play which you think we'd be put off by?
Again, if Archer is the signing then I wish him well, he'll need to find his scoring boats fast.

Just a case of bringing anyone in to fill a slot, he will be just as effective at sitting on the bench as Danilo was so good like for like signing.

Interesting one. They're been a few folk knocking him, but surely even English teams don't spend £15-20m on someone with no talent, never mind 3 teams paying that over the course of 2 years. Do we have any real chance of keeping him long term though?

I think he will be an improvement on Danilo who is pretty much done at this level, likeable guy but he bottles out of challenges and has lost a yard of pace. Good luck to them both.

Massive decision who we bring in to replace Danilo, and could be the difference in the title race.
Maswanhise has proved he can score goals on a regular basis with Motherwell this season, and fair play to DR who has done a great job since being appointed,but we need to sign a prolific goalscorer before the transfer window closes.

It's the same as shankland didn't fit the profile for our number 9 even though he was free….hes still the best number 9 in the division….its tap in stuff signing wise.
Maswanhise value has went through the roof last few weeks he could have been bought earlier in window for a reasonable fee it's not like the stats weren't backing him up.

do we mean the injured 30 year old Shankland playing for the team that we are currently outscoring. that one. so we wouldn't have him playing for us now.
sometimes clubs might just do things as they have a plan which will make the club better and want to play a way which the player doesn't fit into. we are doing well enough currently so someone must know what they are doing. how about giving them the chance to build further.

Maswanhise all day long for me! He has nothing to prove in this league, it's there for all to see! The guys different class and he isn't just a winger, he's proved that with his goals and all-round play this season. Best player in Scotland just now by a country mile. Said it before, if he was playing in a Rangers jersey scoring 20 goals (across all competitions) with 2 thirds of the season gone then what would he be worth? We'd be looking for at least 15mil.
True Archer may well come here and bang them in but there's no evidence there to suggest he would, he's a gamble, Maswanhise isn't.

True Angus, all fan bases are fickle like this unfortunately ?. He doesn't seem to miss much tho. I know people will say it's totally different at Rangers with the pressure and opposition teams playing the low block but currently our strikers aren't delivering! And it's not just because of the tactics/style of play from opposing teams.
Chermiti and Miovski have missed some sitters and their decision making in the box at times woeful. If they had taken the chances that have been created for them they'd both be(and should be) in double figures.

The recruitment team don't start working at the start of a transfer window.
They work non stop all year profiling targets.

Ran I am not sure that is the case. the sitters you talk about are the big chances or xG stats. our strikers are actually scoring those chances and are bang on the number of goals they are expected to score. Maswanhise on the other hand has an xG of 7.6 but has scored 13. that is why I would eb worried he would continue the same with us. most players can't outperform the stats for long like that.
yes our strikers take every chance they get but no striker does. Until yesterday Maswanhise had 2 shots less than both Miovski and Chermiti combined. he hit the target 22 times and combined our strikers hit target 24 times. our 2 have scored 7 which is the xG expected of them and the same as expected of Maswanhise. only difference is he is scoring those he isn't expected to.
this is the reason I say we don't create enough for our strikers. imagine ion both had even 50% more chances to shoot with a similar increase in xG or big chances. hence we need to create more for them or continue scoring goals from all over pitch.
