Rangers Review reporting that we have knocked back a £13m bid for Chermiti from Fenerbahce. This has got to be a wind up? I mean it has to be!
27 Jan 2026 21:35:33
You mean its a wind up that we have knocked it back. I would bite their hands off for that money for him and I would take it right now. A striker who rarely scores is easily replaceable.
27 Jan 2026 21:38:35
He's scored only 4 goals and we are getting 13m for him imagine what teams will bid in 6 months time when he keeps getting better. There's less than a week left to replace them we can't be selling key starters. Chermiti might not score a lot yet but we are a far far better team when he plays.
27 Jan 2026 21:41:52
spot on wishy.
27 Jan 2026 21:51:20
What did we turn down for Morelos £16m. Let's see how this works out.
27 Jan 2026 21:55:07
If he's worth £13 million now what's he worth if he scores another 6-10 and has a winners medal … if it was the first week of the window I'd give it some thought. Not now,
27 Jan 2026 21:56:46
In Thelwell we trust?
To soon ?.
27 Jan 2026 21:59:51
East end difference when we turned that down for Morelos, we were skint. We aren't anymore and people need to stop acting like we are.
27 Jan 2026 22:04:41
So 10 for Gassama and 13 for Chermiti and we knocked them both back, 23 million, what am I missing, yes we're in the hunt, i get that, but we'd still have time to get someone in.
27 Jan 2026 22:05:57
Also that Morelos bid came off the back of a season where he came off the back of 30 odd goals, he was never getting any better than that, Chermiti has so much room for improvement. He's only going to get better and add more value to his price tag.
Crazy to sell right now and the club obviously agree hence rejecting the bid. Would have to be stupid money for me to sell this late in the window, as we will be paying stupid money to get a good replacement in.
27 Jan 2026 22:08:17
It can be very difficult to know when to sell a player.
TBH, I'd have been very tempted with the 13 million offer.
Time will tell.
27 Jan 2026 22:11:06
Is that an initial offer or their highest? Not kuch profit on the fee we payed for him, would only sell if he is pushing for a move.
27 Jan 2026 22:16:05
it is a rumour ?.
27 Jan 2026 22:19:04
Can't sell him now, need him for the run in. His performances of late have been really good.
27 Jan 2026 22:31:55
Your making addumptions he's going to get better what if he doesn't.
27 Jan 2026 22:44:17
He's getting better every game I watch him play forever.
27 Jan 2026 22:48:54
Agreed, Fork. If we have decent replacements in mind that we are certain we can sign before the deadline then I think we should accept the money. There's always the risk that we keep them then they get injured or don't kick on and other clubs lose interest. At the same time, selling these players now may unsettle the team and cost us the league.
Regardless, Rangers knocking back these offers shows that the club will no longer accept lowball offers for our players as we are knocking back 8-figure sums for players that a lot of our fans don't even rate.
27 Jan 2026 22:51:29
Iam glad we never sold morelos because he was pivotal to us winning 55.
He didn't score as many goals but he dropped deep and pulled the opposition defenders out of position to allow our other forward players to take advantage of the space.
I don't know about you but that title was worth more than 16 million perhaps even considered being priceless.
27 Jan 2026 22:58:44
Highly likely he only improves with game time forever.
27 Jan 2026 23:01:21
I'd be all for selling both Chermiti and Gassama for £23m but we then need to find ready made replacements with clubs willing to do quick business. We don't want any problems with difficult clubs then find we run into red tape when there's only 6 days left. I'm not sure I 100% believe these stories anyway but if these players are attracting attention now they surely will in summer too, possibly even more.
Is this the time to move on pretty settled players with loads at stake? I mean we're not desperate or skint under this new ownership.
27 Jan 2026 23:06:50
We already have 3 new players to bed in and probably another 2 on top of that still to come, if we sell another 3 players on top of that that's potentially 8 new players to bed in to a team that's settled and winning. It's a huge risk and not one I want to take when we are going for a title.
27 Jan 2026 23:11:54
He is improving but he isn't getting better every game he peaked against Celtic and hasn't played that good since one or two games but not getting better every game.
I would take the 13 million in a heart beat if the rumour is true.
27 Jan 2026 23:24:22
We are a better team with him in it, his hold up play and ball control gets this team on the front foot a lot more, we will make money on the big man but probably be the summer.
27 Jan 2026 23:30:53
He's maybe not had as good an individual performance since Celtic but in both Aberdeen games he made the team play so much better and the difference when he's not playing is night and day. Big risk selling and the player we replace him with doesn't hit ground running or ends up like Miovski.
28 Jan 2026 00:08:15
Turkish journo Erdem Akbas (I know the Turkish journos aren't the most reliable) now reporting Fenerbahce not giving up and are coming back with an improved offer! Says the clubs are in talks.
Fener having had bids from Saudi clubs for their main striker Youssef En Nesyri of around 30mil euro. Their other main striker being Jhon Duran who they only have on loan from al nassr for this season.
28 Jan 2026 00:18:23
Wishy some see nothing like that.
28 Jan 2026 00:19:13
Agree Strom, we paid the money for him to score goals which he hasn't been doing. Agree with others also that his hold up play is improving but is that enough to justify not making a profit on him while we have the chance.
28 Jan 2026 00:49:47
Spot on rwn some on here want 13 million knocked back for a striker just because he has decent hold up play who doesn't score regularly, and then worry that someone coming in might not hit the ground running? Neither has Chermiti! I don't think in my 45 years watching Rangers I've seen so much dross written about a bang average player who some of our support have delusions of turning into a future goal machine and potential superstar who we couldn't possibly win a league without, its crazy.
28 Jan 2026 00:57:21
Selling our best CF now, with Danilo potentially going and Miovski barely scoring is league win suicide, sell your best now and the team is disrupted, sell all the duds first, we don't need the money right now, we need consistency and wins wins wins, as others have posted the lad has a lot more to his game than just goals, he was worth every penny of the fee we paid, reject all bids for him until end of season then re assess, same for Gassama and
Fernandez, no deal jog on, we are going for a double and a champs league spot, we will gift all 3 back to Celtic selling 3 of our best right now, regardless if what's offered, they are all worth a lot more in terms of what they along with the rest of the team can achieve this season, we were 8th in league not too long ago Danny the coaches and the team have turned that on its head, none our regs are for sale right now.
28 Jan 2026 01:36:58
Jack boy he didn't hit the ground running that's the point mate. We don't have time to waste with players who will need time to get up to speed. The teams winning right now and is playing well with Chermiti being a big part to it.
Massive risk getting rid of him and hoping who we bring in comes in and bang at it from the start.
28 Jan 2026 02:42:12
Sorry but that's just not true he is not getting into goal scoring positions any more than he was at start of season his work rate improved sure but he's still not consistently scoring
Three games since Celtic game and he's not scored wishy how is that improving he's scored 4 league goals with 23 league games played i think he will be lucky to wven get double figures for season
Mystar. duh. of course young players improve with more games but can you honestly say he's improving with every game?
Personally i'd take the money on condition we can get a quality forward in.
People are bigging him up based on Celtic game the hard work is the least any Rangers forward should be doing.
28 Jan 2026 02:45:08
Sorry guys i know things are going well but the truth is our fan base standards on what is a quality player for rangera has went down.
28 Jan 2026 06:24:02
Cry us a river grumpy
The standards of a lot things at Rangers have dropped since our cashed up murray days, the culmination of that era was the lowest division in Scotland and almost the death of the club not much of a standard in my book, but do grumble on about as having come far since then and fans opinions that don't agree with your constantly negative tinged ones.
28 Jan 2026 09:14:01
Forever you clearly have no clue on Chermiti ability as a footballer, surprised, nope.
28 Jan 2026 09:40:14
Yes wishy he didn't hit the ground running and still hasn't broken into a light jog, its no risk because someone coming in won't be worse than Chermiti, i would say its a massive risk relying on him to fire us to a title-by your logic we shouldntve signed anyone this window then as results were good before the window opened, the squad requires a regular scorer-forever spot on it seems that some now regard anyone who runs about a lot and has a couple of nice touches as a Rangers number 9.
28 Jan 2026 09:46:52
Maybe the clubs making bids or the guys who work with him day in day out know more than a fan with regards to his potential, I feel as if he could play as a 10 or with another striker but I have liked him since a few games after Rohl came in, maybe not scoring regularly but hard working and good hold up play for me, I think the goals will come.
28 Jan 2026 10:20:13
Wishy we may not be skint but are still a business ?and businesses need to make profits too?we need to buy and sell at the right time so I have faith in 49rs group that they will do just that!
