Club have not followed up on discussions with Mbuyamba after initial enquiry. Would expect him to move elsewhere.
No discussions with Maswanhise but he has been watched several times this season along with Elliot Watt.
Redzic I was told we might follow up with later in the window if a deal for him hasn't progressed elsewhere.

Rumours seemed to suggest that Mbuyamba is going to Austria. Redzic and Maswanhise probably fall into the category of "on a list" rather than guys we are actively pursuing.
Think the update of being more reactive now is about giving it a few days and seeing what players become available.

Maswanhise turned 23 last November. This has been his breakout season. Last season has nothing to do with anything, he was a young player still developing. Motherwell have done an excellent job of developing young players recently, and we should be trying to loan them some of our players.
If they do sell Maswanhise then Rangers should be on the phone offering them Curtis until the end of the season. They have a good manager playing a good brand of football.

I really don't understand the clamour for Mbuyamba, if it's a CB from the eredivise that's available on a free and neither Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV want him it would suggest to me he's not at the level required if he want to become a CL team. If we win league we really need to be ambitious or we will get pasted in the CL.

The last player who Rangers signed from Motherwell has absolutely no relevance to the next player we sign from Motherwell. We signed Scott Wright from Aberdeen and he turned out to be average at best, but Connor Barron looks like a really good find. Past performance in the transfer market has no bearing on future performance.

I haven't seen a fee mentioned for Maswanhise but they won't get £4million for certainly not from Celtic.
As for the argument about not signing a Dutch player because if PSV and Ajax don't want him he can't be good enough for us. Guys like Ricksen, Huistra and Mols came from smaller Dutch clubs and they did okay for us. Its about the individual not the club he plays for.
