Rangers confirm that Isaame Charai has left the club by mutual agreement. Anyone reckon that assistant manager news could be imminent then?
13 Jun 2025 19:41:47
Rm will need to bring at least 1 in. I hope it's an experienced coach who knows our league.
13 Jun 2025 19:49:37
Is Matt Gills not assistant manager?
13 Jun 2025 19:50:53
Matt Gill is Assistant Manager.
13 Jun 2025 19:53:51
I would love to see Neil MCann back in a role to support.
13 Jun 2025 19:55:04
Apologies realised that Matt Gills is assistant manager, I thought he was just background staff and assistant manager hadn't been chosen yet. I put my hands up.
13 Jun 2025 19:56:37
Saw it on the Rangers Facebook page along with an embarrassing amount of 'take Tav with you' posts. Disgraceful how that guy gets treated.
13 Jun 2025 20:00:05
Same asst manager as he had at southampton and swansea ??.
13 Jun 2025 20:11:45
Wonder how much it's cost us for the mutual aggrement to happen.
13 Jun 2025 20:40:50
Chat was he was going to Westerlo in Belgium. Any idea if that's still happening?
13 Jun 2025 20:55:10
We give them Charai they give us Frigan.
13 Jun 2025 20:59:52
Tav should be away.
13 Jun 2025 21:08:50
Signs 3.5 year deal, leaves with 3 years left and no doubt a nice payoff.
Don't think we can put into words just how embarrassingly shambolic the previous regime was.
13 Jun 2025 21:14:32
Christ knows what on earth is going on just now, feels like we're going backwards with pace not seen in years, I didn't even think it was possible after last season. Just need Naismith to hit rock bottom.
13 Jun 2025 21:46:32
I thought Charai was a 49ers appointment albeit arranged through the old board. Obviously not.
Good luck to him.
13 Jun 2025 21:55:16
No-one knows what mutual agreement means. how about a different take - he is allowed to leave and we don't ask for compensation from the club he is about to join and we don't give him anything. as evidence why would the new owners pay for the old mistakes. when clement left perhaps that was the agreement. stay until you get an offer and then we will let you leave.
13 Jun 2025 22:07:27
Rostosto they people saying take Tav as well we're 100% correct.
13 Jun 2025 22:21:04
Storm now that sounds like an opinion ?.
13 Jun 2025 23:15:41
To all the Tav haters out there, I wait to see the next right back come in and make his kind of contribution. The amount of blame he carries is outrageous. Rangers should be a team on the front foot. When we are, Tav is creating as many chances as anyone else on the pitch.
14 Jun 2025 05:30:25
Personally I'm not interested in goal contributions from fullbacks Rostosto, first things first fullbacks should be able to defend, they come will goal contributions fair enough but not the most important thing with a defender imo, we need a rb signed this summer.
14 Jun 2025 06:18:22
Do you think fergie would go back in as a an assistant or coach?
14 Jun 2025 06:22:02
The anger towards Tav is a disgrace. I am not saying on the level with teent but trent makes was more mistakes defensively yet is regarded as a world class player because of his forward ability. Tav stats are unreal for a RB, and to be fair a Rangers LB or RB should be making mistakes and costing the odd goal just so happens he has been playing with clowns, in a better team around him, he would go down as 1 of the best for his stats alone IMO.
14 Jun 2025 07:57:41
I love Tav, been a great servant of the club through some difficult times and changes. It is obvious to everyone tho the legs have gone a bit defence wise he is vulnerable but if they insist on keeping him in the team i would try him at RW can still whip in a ball won't have the defensive responsibilty obv doubt he would manage nipping past players but could still contribute what's other peoples thoughts?
14 Jun 2025 08:03:46
Rososto no right back is going to score as many goals as tav did and won't be judged on that. Tav also costs as many goals as chances created so i'd rather we signed attacking wingers and replaced tav with a proper defender as his legs have gone.
14 Jun 2025 08:04:48
We also currently have no goalkeeper coach?
14 Jun 2025 09:12:44
Very similar situation to NK.
14 Jun 2025 09:43:11
Although tav has cost us goals over the years, they are not even close to the amount he has created. Ridiculous statement dado.
14 Jun 2025 09:58:40
Personally I want our full backs to attack. we have around 70% of the ball so the crowd would be moaning if any of our FBs sat in defence and waited for the opposition to attack. then because I want our FBs to attack I realise they may be caught out defensively unless they have the recovery pace of Bolt and even then. so I expect the teams structure to cover some of the defensive duties of the attacking FBs to allow them to support attack.
14 Jun 2025 10:26:48
Angus correct, I want attacking fullbacks but defending in more important to me than goals contributions.
14 Jun 2025 10:34:43
Tav only has eyes for going forwards - to be honest he couldn't mark a Saturday coupon and his legs are now going which is expected - he is long past the sell buy date at our club and am in the firm belief that we will only win things when he leaves - thanks for the service and many good memories Tav but the time has come?.
14 Jun 2025 10:53:00
Goughie - he has cost us many goals at the back so I think the ratio of goals lost could be higher than you want to believe? great servant but time moves on and so should we.
14 Jun 2025 11:36:50
Guy literally won the league cup single handed, wouldn't have been anywhere near a European final without him, was part of the meanest defence in Scottish football history for 55 and people were calling for his head whilst all that was happening. Our fans should have more respect.
14 Jun 2025 11:39:45
Opinions are not fact other than it's a fact it's an opinion some just struggle with the kings English and go 12 rounds with it.
Good fun though reading it .
14 Jun 2025 11:44:25
Nothing to do with what I believe I merely stated that he has more goals and assists than goal against contributions it's not rocket science. Is he costing us goals yes, has his legs gone and distribution deteriorated yes, should he have been used sparingly last season but wasn't an option due to players being made of glass yes, does he get blamed for everything in the world yes, would the last 10 years have been poorer for us to watch without him absolutely. Carried us for years and deserves a little more respect for his efforts imo that's all.
14 Jun 2025 11:46:56
Also I've watched soutter and butland cost us goals and immediately folk on here blame tav so your definition of goals lost ratio may not be as high as YOU think they are. Cheers mate.
14 Jun 2025 13:25:40
Goughie we could feasibly replace the full defence but RB needs changed first due to age and legs going. Souttar is home grown which goes in his favour. Butland was a joke last year and i'd sell him too.
He single handedly won the league cup? Is that amazing these days we have won 3 trophies in 10 year he's been here. Not all his fault obv but you can see why there is contempt for him as captain. Comes with the territory mate.
14 Jun 2025 13:50:17
There is a spot for Tav maybe not RB but he will fit in.
14 Jun 2025 14:16:17
In the modern game full backs have a pivotal roll in attack and creation of chances, to say that as long as they can defend the attacking part doesn't matter is old fashioned and a bit naive.
My question is, Is Trent Alexander Arnold a great right back and therefore worth millions or not because he is not a great defender?
14 Jun 2025 15:02:55
Hes 34 just give it a rest and move on for a younger 'modern fullback' then. Too much negativity around him and does take a lot of the blame so fresh start be better for everybody.
14 Jun 2025 15:06:54
Wsl I agree and you can't be an attacking Fb and then concentrate mainly on the defensive side of things otherwise you are a defensive FB. look at both Liverpool FBs they were good going forward and whilst they could defend they had others to cover for them. the opposite but same is true of the front 3: if you want them to cover back then the forward element of their game suffers. I just want the RB to do what the manager wants him to do; what the crowd want is immaterial. and do you really think managers are going to play a player if his 'legs have gone' because he wouldn't be performing in training. he didn't play Danilo and Cortes last year for not being match fit. even if we didn't have another RB he would be playing a young lad or another placer to cover, Barron played RB when he was younger.
