I know for a fact that Gerrard is speaking with Thelwill and Steinsson tomorrow. That wouldn't be happening if it was Ancelotti's. Especially since it isn't the first or second time they've spoke regarding our job.

On Gerrard, would he be my first choice? No, but a lot of ours had unrealistic expectations. It wasn't ever going to be Rose, Terzic, Schmidt anyone like that. He's got the stature and experience of Scottish football. Did he make mistakes his first time? Of course he did not denying that. But if the ambition of the board matches the ambition of Steven Gerrard then it's going to be a good couple of years.

Just read the Sky story and it is all Sky understands Ancilotti and Gerrard are 2 names the club have sounded out. Sky say this is as they look to finalise a short list. they then list about 4 or 5 names including Edwards, Martin and Rohl. no word of Rangers telling Sky. 'Sky believe they are assessing; does that sound like the club have told them anything.
Sky actually write: While there is no front runner at this stage, CEO Patrick Stewart confirmed on Sunday the search for a new head coach "is progressing well" and added the club "look forward to concluding our process in the coming period".
so they could actually be talking to Gerrard tomorrow and it could still be Ancelotti, or Edwards, or Martin or Rohl, i. e. the search is continuing.
people do realise that most of us can actually read so can check what is written here don't they.

If the club have been negotiating for a new manager since the start of the year, would make sense it's Gerrard as he left his position in the Saudi league in January 2025.
The only SPFL League cup success Rangers have had since coming back up was with Gerrard.
The only League cup Success Gerrard has ever had was with Rangers.
Why wouldn't we bring back the manager that Killed Celtics 10 in a row campaign in it's tracks and went on to win the SPFL League cup UNBEATEN, and had us playing superb attacking football once he got the squad rebuilt to a standard that could not only challenge Celtic but out play teams of much higher caliber in Europe.
With the right backroom team and and talented team with funds to spend on serious quality young raw talent, i think he would be a bigger success than before.
Would be less of a rebuild this time round as our squad is far more talented than when Gerrard originally took charge in 2018.
Just my opinion.

Laudrup, u hit the nail on the head mate with the rebuild part. It is less of a rebuild this time, the club are in a better position in all departments and the squad is in a better place in most departments than before.
It's not as big a job. More support and more funds will also make it easier for him.
