Sir Alex Ferguson once said "strikers win games but defenders win titles" and he's absolutely spot on. 🤔 If we go on to win this season's Scottish Premiership league title, it will be more than likely because of our defence, which is the best in Scotland ie. pandur, Sterling, Fernandez, Makhanya, Penrice 👌🇬🇧.

There is no doubt that we have the best defence and I think the last goal we conceded was an OG at Falkirk which speaks volumes. As McInnes said, we are in safe hands with Pandur.
We have excellent options in attack, in fact all over the park. The squad is the strongest it has been in years and we have quality in key areas.
McInnes kept Hearts focused and was able to go the distance, I have no doubt that he will keep us focused as well.
I have never been as confident since Walter Smith was our manager.

Long way to go as fork says but if the 5 you mention stay fit they will give us a great chance to win it. League cup should be one of the immediate priorities and will give the new players a chance to taste winning with us and how special it is and give them the hunger for more.

Totally agree fork, right now we are the in form team only. Every season for past 5/6 years we have a few good results and suddenly not one Celtic player gets near our squad, then Celtic win the league, the rest is history.

I used to have a saying i used with associates or employees " i am not in the business of turning Gold bars into Lead bars ".

TT - but the Gold Bars of Morelos and Kent to name but two(which u probably elude to) - turned into less that lead value for us, so those few times cost us far too much🤔 there needs to be the right time to sell for the club as well, when stocks are high 🤔Hopefully we will strike the right balance and timing in that forum going forward - unlike in the past.

Regarding our defence guys, i read a good Rangers review article this morning which was about our goalkeeper Ivor Pandur and Peter McCloy and Jim Stewart were talking about him and they also both rate him and no wonder to what we've seen so far. 👌 Pandur has been superb and is no doubt a step up from Jack Butland, who in fairness was also a good goalkeeper. 👌🇬🇧
Pandur is superb with the ball at his feet and is extremely confident and calm and that absolutely breeds confidence to our defenders in front of him as they can without a doubt trust him. 👌 He reads the game superbly and is very fast with his reactions and making saves, he's so agile and an outstanding shot stopper 👌🇬🇧.

Said before McInnes was appointed, he has never had the quality he has now, better quality within his set up, he should have greater success, he's been successful at every club he's managed, some went on about his trophy count, Pep would struggle winning anything with the squads he's had.

Quality hasn't much to do with it then has it. the point from the OP is that Del kept Hearts focussed, he didn't, Hearts threw it away in the last couple of games. nothing to do with quality, poor tactics and set up cost them the league.

Jeez Geesa, he was 8 minutes from the title with a budget a fraction the size of us and Celtic. To keep that Hearts squad in the race and focused within 8 minutes of the title is remarkable. Poor tactics and set up took them to the final day.
Hearts have a squad value of 25m compared to Rangers 150m and Celtic 125m. McInnes has over achieved at every club in Scotland.

I certainly ain't naive enough to fall for that drivel , this was a club trying desperately to recover from major financial meltdown, nobody in their right mind would have refused this amount of profit for a very limited player, and nobody ever wanted Kent either
You have to consider that this was around covid years when football simply went through the motions and was not the same, Rangers never refused any offer because they never received any offer, or I could virtually guarantee that business would be done.

You get the feeling with our defence the title has a great chance of going our way , a run of wins from now to the new year then I will be totally confident , seen to many false dawns blown to bits by smaller teams taking points off us , do think we have a good squad and the old one game at a time and we will be happy bears come May.
