I certainly don't believe it's anywhere near been abysmal, Ayrshire, but I think before the transfer window closes we need to sign players who are proven/experienced in their respective positions, and that's why, imo, we must do all we can to sign Cerny for our right wing, which is absolutely a problem area for us. 🤔 I know it's unlikely we'll get Mikey Moore now, but that's the reason I was hoping we could get him on another season long loan deal, because he can absolutely change games for us and can take us up the park, and as much as I rate Findlay Curtis, we've got to be honest and admit he's nowhere near Mikey Moore's level, and I don't care if Moore will never be our permanent player, it's for the here and now and we need him, imo.
🤔 We also need a class right back and a left back to push Rommens, so let's hope all this can be achieved. 🙏

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the signings so far. We really lack creativity in that midfield, and I thought, after last year and all the comments from the board, that we really were going to splash some cash and get some real quality in. Hopefully it happens before the close of the window, otherwise we are winning nothing again.

I agree, transfers so far have been disappointing. A couple of free transfers from Hearts, a couple from English Championship. The only pluses so far are the goalkeeper and the midfielder from Belgrade. Was really hoping for better.

I wouldn't even want us going for Braga if Chermiti etc was sold. Good player, but I've a feeling if they don't get him sold this window that price tag will plummet, even more so if their season isn't great.

Sadly, some (quality and not so) need to go firstly before we can go on a purchase rampage. Squad is too full currently. I hope movement happens over next 5 days and allows us to move quickly too.

Agree it hasn't been the best window, but don't agree fully with the Celtic comment. They've definitely bought a player in Hogh, and Duran seems decent, but they've also lost Maeda and may be about to lose Johnston, McGregor, Hatate and Engels, with nobody in their current squad good enough to take their positions and become 1st choice.
If any of the 2 they've bought gets injured, they have no-one to take their place. They have a hell of a lot of work still to do also.

Losing Maeda will be hard to replace for them, but make no mistake, the boy Hogh is a very good player. I don't pay attention to what they are doing, but I've watched Bodo a good few times and he was a stand out for them every time.
I think he will get them 20+ goals this season. I'm not confident Chermiti or Shankland will do that for us.

OMG. Am I deflated after reading the posts. I just wonder if it's worth playing this season. For my own opinion, yes, I think the players we have are an upgrade on last season. Let's see how things start this season, we are not, apart from Celtic, going to be playing anyone with the level of squad we have.

Wow just wow, let's not bother playing though. Most of you said it was Rohl and not the players, so we have the manager you all wanted. We have only lost Tav and Moore really, and Tav was done and everyone said McCrorie was an upgrade (not me).

so last season every player we have now got rid of was rubbish and why we weren't winning. so the club get rid of all those and still folk aren't happy. they bought players who know the league which is what fans on here wanted and still they aren't happy. we bought Rangers men as that is what was thought was needed and still not happy.
surely we need to see how they play before saying if they are an upgrade or not but given how bad the last lot were surely that won't be difficult to beat.
it won't be as if the club aren't trying to sign players but perhaps the players are of a quality that their teams don't want to let them go at all or at least until they have replacements. those transfers take longer unless you pay well over the odds. or perhaps we can't buy before we sell because of FFP rules and if no-one wants to sign the players we want to sell quickly what do the club do.
so let McInnes get the players we have playing as a team and see how we go as we continue to add that quality to the team.

Wishy, I really must have hurt your feelings the other day, and I apologise you took offence at it, but as Storm pointed out, it wouldn't have mattered what he did the last few games. If our players had turned up, then we would have got it over the line.
Angus, I'm glad we can disagree again finally lol, but that's all well and good stating it takes time etc etc, but maybe we should have focused on problem positions first instead of signing as many CMs, since you know we have Europe next week and that is vitally important to us that it goes well.

Bbj, my point is perhaps we did and are, but would you be happy just to get anyone in or do you want us to get the right player in. If it's the right player, then could those be held up until managers have assessed their squads at pre-season. Other leagues tend to get back later, as they don't have early European ties, so that is all I think it is.
Assessments made of players we want, and those clubs move to replace the ones they want to sell first.
Does anyone truly believe that McInnes with all his experience hasn't identified the positions he wants by now? If so, then it isn't lack of trying, it is lack of those identified being available.
