After the Scotland debacle last night, can we stop thinking guys like Gunn, Hendry, McKenna, Paterson etc could do us a turn.
25 Jun 2026 10:32:02
Patterson done not too bad, imo, if he was fit I'd 100% have him back! McKenna was awful.
25 Jun 2026 10:44:22
Playing McKenna was a big mistake. He's not been fit, hasn't played a minute in any of the previous games or warm up games, and is then thrown in cold against Brazil. Any wonder he was caught in the ball after 5mins? (Only problem being, if it wasn't him, then likely it would have been Hanley playing sooo likely the same outcome really ?).
25 Jun 2026 10:50:17
Patterson should be nowhere near us or the NT, not up to the standard.
25 Jun 2026 10:51:22
I thought, considering Patterson hasn't played much recently, he did well against probably one of the best wingers in the world. He showed enough for me that he could more than handle playing for us again.
25 Jun 2026 10:56:16
He was at fault for 2nd goal. Patterson is not a good player. Wouldn't have him anywhere near our team.
25 Jun 2026 11:00:41
Patterson was one of our best players last night.
He had one of the hardest jobs on the pitch.
I actually thought Gunn made some really good saves as well.
25 Jun 2026 11:11:34
I wouldn't make a decision on a player based on their performance last night as I don't think the players were put in a framework that played to their strengths.
I also think it's difficult to establish if Paterson was at fault for the goal without hearing the communication between himself and Gunn.
I'd welcome Gunn, McKenna and Hendry to Ibrox, providing they were brought in on deals that were value for money.
Likewise, I'd welcome Paterson back on the same condition, with additional caveat that he could improve his availability.
25 Jun 2026 11:21:49
Hasn't Henry signed a new contract with his current club?
25 Jun 2026 11:23:06
Yeah, I forgot that those players mentioned shouldn't be near the team as we will be playing teams as good as Brazil week in week out in Scotland.
25 Jun 2026 11:24:02
Gunn is likely to be at Man United as third choice.
25 Jun 2026 11:24:16
Great post, EHL. ? Agree and hoping a few who u have mentioned are doing more than talking with us.
Was told at the Morocco game that there may be one starter in that game coming to us next season.
25 Jun 2026 11:25:27
Correct Gazza.
25 Jun 2026 11:30:20
Actually thought Patterson had a good game last night, always looking to get a cross into the box, so yes, I would like him back.
25 Jun 2026 11:34:07
I think, with a run of games and obviously, if he stays fit, Patterson has something to offer. Would need to be in our wage structure though.
25 Jun 2026 11:41:27
I thought Patterson did well too. All about opinions, but I would definitely take him back if he can prove his fitness.
25 Jun 2026 11:42:50
Patterson was one of very few who scraped passmarks last night, he wasn't great but he was far from terrible. Hendry, on the other hand, thinks he's a world beater, where in fact he's nearer to being a panel beater.
25 Jun 2026 12:19:20
Robertson was to blame for the 2nd goal.
25 Jun 2026 12:22:08
Gunn and Patterson, I would definitely take at Ibrox.
Ferguson, if we get that over the line we have a really coup there.
Shankland, I think, worked incredibly hard with zero service.
Curtis was brought on too late to make any sort of impact, and should have been brought on instead of Christie.
25 Jun 2026 12:23:19
I wouldn't sign Gunn but I thought he had a good game last night and it would have been 5 or 6 if not for him. I would sign Patterson though, I thought he did well last night, although he did lose Vini Jnr at the second goal.
He looked fitter and sharper and more like himself. Certainly wouldn't want McKenna after last night confirmed what I think of him as a defender, and I think he will be shattered after last night and will struggle to recover.
25 Jun 2026 12:35:35
Not watched a single minute of any of their games, watched others though.
25 Jun 2026 12:36:10
Patterson was partly to blame for the second goal, as we see him try and dart in front of Vini and clearly misjudged the flight of the ball, but Robbo shouldn't be trying to pass it out his own box in that scenario either, so both to blame equally.
25 Jun 2026 12:47:05
I don't think it's fair to say Patterson shouldn't be signed due to not playing 10/10 against Vini Jr. ? The only reason I would be cautious about signing Patterson would be his injury record.
That being said, I would take the risk as I think he would be a low fee.
Gunn, I would probably not want, but I'd take McKenna for the right price and unsure on Hendry.
25 Jun 2026 13:03:49
I don't think Patterson was at fault for the goal at all. Gunn was caught underneath the cross, and the cb also. Patterson should have been closer and more aware of Vini Jnr's position, but to blame the right back when it should have been the gk or cb dealing with that is just nonsense, imo.
25 Jun 2026 14:10:09
Ch was not marking Vini, it was Patterson's man, and he misjudged it. Simple, really, Cmac.
25 Jun 2026 14:21:53
I don't want him signed because he is not good enough and injury prone. Nothing to do with last night, and he was at fault for the goal as he made an arse of the flight of the ball and Vini had a free tap-in header.
As I said on chat, you just can't slag off any Rangers minded player because some of our fans have blue tinted specs on with them.
25 Jun 2026 14:22:28
BbJ, see if he was ex Celtic player everyone would be blaming Patterson on here.
