Clark given new 2 tournament contract before the tournament. Don't agree with that. If he does well then fine reward him with euros but don't do it now. Not sure I want him to continue anyway.

Kaiser doesn't exactly love Clark, but his record is impressive, mate. Wouldn't mind if he goes or stays tbh. One thing he's excellent at is building togetherness in the squad, getting players to give everything for him, 2 things we need to try and be better at than other teams, as we lack in many other departments.

Deserves the new contract for how he has had the team performing so far, yeah he bottled it at the last two Euros, but getting to the finals is like winning the World Cup for us.

I'm not a Clarke lover like most Gers fans, but he does deserve it. Personally, would have thought 2 years with SFA holding a further 2 years tho.

Nah, Clarke is pitiful. Slow and defensive football. Crap to watch (other than that one Denmark game, really).
We have some cracking players in the Scotland squad, and still play like we are rubbish.
Plus, Clarke hasn't done well in tournaments, so I would have wanted him gone.
And lastly his interviews are soul destroying.

Should be judged on the tournament itself moving forward, not just getting there. Have to remember it's far easier to get there now. Not belittling his achievements, but should wait and see how we do 1st. If we go out at groups, he should go too.

I go to all Scotland games and we've played some lovely football and a lot of horrendous football over the years. He has gotten us to 3 tournaments, however. The big question is, if Clarke wasn't extending, who else would want the job?
Have to laugh at some comments online about how Hanley will manage to get 300 caps now and how he'll still be selecting Craig Gordon in 2050.

Love or loathe him, he's done what he's employed to do.
And though it's easier, Italy, Ireland & Wales would love to be in our position.
And just maybe continuity will keep us at that level.

Mph, I agree. I also think he needs a bit of time to change the old guard and do the same in building a team spirit with younger lads. It might seem to be easier, but we won the group so didn't need to rely on that. No manager since Brown in 1998 has managed to get us to qualify; that includes McLeish, Strachan and even Sir Walter; granted he did get left with too large a deficit to make up.
Happy he is being given the chance to rebuild the squad.

Yip, he did get us to the tournament but I can't recall what one it was, but it was the manner we lost in that was unforgivable.
I would have waited.
His remit after this is that he has to build for the future. Too many favourites. Bring in and blood players.
