UEFA are corrupt, they will find some way of stopping us, maybe Villa or Forest winning Europa League.
Rangers have never had automatic entry to the Champions League because they simply don't want us, they want teams with the star Forest/Villa/Celtic and only teams from bigger countries. They were meant to govern the game for all countries, to keep it fair. They now just try to make as much money as possible to give to big clubs. We are soon apparently going to see 6 or 7 English teams in the Champions League. If it was truly governed correctly, at least top 20 countries would have their champions automatic entry.
English 5th team getting in before Scottish champions or Greek champions or whoever is a farce.
And the argument about bigger club, would teams like Rangers, AEK and Reat not become bigger clubs if they were auto in Champions each season, more revenue and could attract better players.
UEFA are killing the game, and mark my words, Champions League, Europa Conference League will soon turn into division 1, 2, 3 with promotion and relegation, and top so many teams in division 1 not requiring doing well in domestic league to qualify following season. It will be a closed shop, just like they were trying to do with World Cup in pushing for top nations to auto qualify.

Agree with most of your rant forever, apart from the Celtic part. They don't want them either, and only we can qualify. I think it's ruined the European competitions, to be honest, and also the domestic leagues. With half the English league now likely to be in Europe, there's no longer the need to be the best.

Forever you are bang on pal, the fact that the ECL is now a 36-team competition, there is no reason why at least the top 15 leagues' champions shouldn't get auto qualification.
That then leaves 21 spots that can be dished out. For me, I have no issue with the top 5 leagues having 2 teams auto qualify, and then the rest 100% should be made to qualify.
The money awarded for teams from the likes of Scotland, Poland, Romania, Norway, Denmark etc. would improve those teams year on year, and would actually draw bigger crowds as people love watching the underdog story, Bodo being the perfect example this year.

5WATP, No, it isn't. They are 3.5 points behind us, a win gets them 2 points, a draw 1 point, still half a point behind us, unless they win both games in the semi, but we don't want them reaching the final.

Fork Champions League is just the name now, it doesn't mean champions only. I honestly don't see the issue with the name.
BbJ, I agree, too many teams get in, but if they didn't get that amount, then they would have broken away years ago and made a league on their own.
It nearly happened a few years ago, but was an outcry, and I don't think there would have been a big outcry if those top leagues were only getting 2 teams in it.
If we were in EPL, I'd, as fans, not complain about this, we would probably be saying they should be more big teams in it.
This is the way football is now and it ain't going to change for teams from the lesser nations, just going to get harder.

Sadly, I think Shaktar will progress to the final. So that rules us out if we win the league.
The CL is a bonus. We win the league is all I want currently.
We would get absolutely horsed in CL, but the money goes a long way to keeping us top domestically.

Unfortunately MyStar, you're only half right. Yes, it is 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw, but it is also 0.5 points for progression to the next round, which a win and a draw would guarantee. So a win and a draw would put them level on points with Rangers.
Realistically, I expect Palace to knock them out of the tournament and go on to win it, but you never know. The main thing is we win this league regardless of auto progression or not.
