Hope everything clicks into place sunday, it will set us up for league games

Could give the whole team/fans, etc., a huge lift to get a good result, Foreverblue. On the other hand, it could be really disastrous to lose, mate. I really hope, if we lose, that people don't start calling for Danny's head.
We need to remember he's a young coach, and was always going to make mistakes along the way; he just needs to learn from them quickly.

I don't think they'll be calling for his head. I just hope he's learnt from his tactical naivety, and we can get through his tie.
Generally, I feel people only call for a manager's head when they make the same mistakes week in and week out.
So far, Rohl has proven he can adapt formations, and hopefully he gets it right on Sunday.

Rohl should get to start next season even if we win nothing. He inherited a total mess, and over time he's been the best, so deserves a chance. He is still a young manager, learning too. Personally, I think all the criticism from the Motherwell game for making 3 subs at the same time, late, got in his head and stopped him making changes vs Celtic.
I'd say to him, attack games and trust his own instinct on subs, but I think it's very important to keep attacking in Scottish football.

Foreverrangers, I have absolutely no doubt that Danny Rohl will still be Rangers' head coach for next season, even if, God forbid, we don't win anything this season, and rightly so in my eyes. ? He absolutely deserves time to build his own team further than the small amount of signings he's made to improve us so far. ? I rate and like Danny Rohl. ???

Dado, there's been a few on here already calling for his head, mate. It was difficult for him to come in when he did, as his main focus must have been to stop us losing too many goals and making us hard to beat, which I feel has taken away from us having any kind of style of play. Lbh, when he came in the door, we were a mess.
All we can look for as fans is improvement, and he's certainly done that. If we don't win anything this season, I wouldn't be too hard on him. Personally, I'll judge him next season, but I'll be hoping to see a style of play after pre season, as we've been terrible to watch this season.

Agree, BB4. It has been nervous as a fan a lot of the time.
06 Mar 2026 19:39:09
Agree, BB4. Don't like people calling for him to leave after 4 months. Could you imagine another Martin in charge.
He'll need to (and I believe he will) hit the ground running next season. It's just a shame he's had a number of tactics in games wrong towards the vital part of the season.
06 Mar 2026 19:40:06
I'd like to think, and in fact I would say, that most, if not all, on here won't be shouting for Rohl's head, as we can see that he has made improvements under difficult circumstances and deserves at least into next season to try and keep improving this team. January, for me, was just the start for him and his team aiming to get a successful team on the park.
The downside is, I'm afraid, that the general support is fairly fickle and demanding at our club, and that will never change. I've no doubt if we get beaten on Sunday, then there will be rumblings, but I feel that will only be a minority, and a large segment of our support recognise that it probably highlights where we are short and need improving.
06 Mar 2026 22:23:07
Correct, Rosevale. My one hope is AC ignores that fickle support and keeps to the plan he has.
07 Mar 2026 07:32:53
Never mind anything about any potential "tactical naivety." The players, to a man, need to give 100% for the full match, and not have the same mindset as last Sunday, where one good half makes a team or determines a result. A Gers Jekyll and Hyde performance will not be acceptable come Sunday, IMHO. ? ?
07 Mar 2026 08:11:35
Works both ways, though, Angus.
Thank goodness AC listened to the "fickle support" or we'd still have Martin in charge. ?♂️

My view.
Best thing for us would be to continue the plan with Danny into next season.
I think he's shown enough already.
Celtic will have the upheaval and uncertainty of appointing a new manager, and it will be hard for Hearts to keep this form of results going two seasons in a row.
Hopefully we win tomorrow and open the door to give us what would be a good chance of winning the Scottish Cup.
Hopefully we can continue being title contenders up to the final day with a chance of being champions.
When he took over from Russell Martin, I would have been delighted to have been in this position right now, but a trophy would take the pressure off him, that's for sure.
Danny seems happy to adapt on the move with different systems, and has shown enough for me to be convinced that if we can't win the league this season, with stability, some tweaks and upgrades, he will deliver the title next season.

Bb4, that's my slight worry. How many times have we said, about managers over the last few years, that they will need to learn quickly. ?
07 Mar 2026 14:28:33
Storm, was actually thinking that when I wrote the post tbh.
