Just watched the lowlights again of last night's performance.Something that struck me is how many times we came off 2nd best in tackles, 2nd best in jostles for the ball, basically we get pushed around far too often for my liking.Mikey Moore is an example I know he's only a young guy but for all his skill gets muscled off it more often than not.Let's toughen up can we employ a tackle coach along with the set piece coach.

Fair point, although Chermiti and Chucky come out on top a lot, and Djiga.

Was very impressed with Slattery, and said last night, for Motherwell. They honestly controlled the game. Not helped by our very poor passing. Souttar, Tav, Butland, all putting us under real pressure. And i know i keep mentioning him, but Chermiti is god awful. Will never ever be a good striker. He's just not got it in him.

It's because sometimes the tackles are half arsed.

Our 2nd ball winning was really poor imo. I don't know if the stats backed that up, but that's where i thought we lost the game.

A tackle coach, is that a new term for a sex therapist? ? If a player needs a coach to teach a tackle, then we really are in bad shape.

I thought our midfield 3 did well in the duels with their midfield, tbh. As for the performance, their star man, Maswanhise, didn't do a lot in the game.

12 Feb 2026 18:03:56
And yet Slattery lost the ball the same amount of times as Tavernier when passing. ?

12 Feb 2026 18:49:06
Angus, he had a much better game than Tav and is in the middle, also. Please stop with this nonsense, honestly, it's boring.

12 Feb 2026 18:55:36
The number of times a Motherwell player came through two or three tackles and still had the ball was frightening. All three of our midfielders just committed foul after foul, and Raskin, in particular, lost so many fifty fifties by just trying to nip the ball away rather than go and win it.

Moore, Gassama and Meghoma are just lightweights, and you can add Aasgaard to that list.

Storm so we can use stats to show our players are rubbish as that fits the narrative following a draw. but when they are used to show the same for an opposition player then it is boring. fyi FBs are known to play higher risk passes than many CM and CH passes as they look for progressive rather than safe 10 yard passes

btw is it you that now owns the site and says what can be posted ?

but you are right fans who are positive and support the team aren't welcome on this site.

FBs do not play more risky passes than CMs, Angus.

12 Feb 2026 20:52:14
Correct, Angus, better just being negative, and throwing in the towel half a dozen times over a season. Maybe try being a little positive and just support the direction our club is heading. Probably be better than throwing your toys out the pram after a draw.

We played poor last night, Danny Rohl made a few bad calls, it is done now, hopefully he has learned. Get over it, 3 points needed on Sunday, will still be a good few twists in the remaining games.

Stats show that MFs at dominant clubs like Celtic and Rangers typically register higher volumes of short passes and lower average pass lengths due to their high-possession styles. This is why they achieve high pass success rates.
Tavernier is in the 98th percentile for progressive passes globally for his position, so he is less likely to cycle possession and more likely to attempt "smart passes" or direct balls into the channels. Therefore, his successful pass rate will be lower than a CM recirculating balls and making short passes.

We play a lot of balls through our CBs to our FBs, so the CBs have high success rates.
I didn't understand why his success rate was so low when I don't see that level of failure, as I thought the same, so looked it all up over a period of time. It is the explanation I found, and I am happy with that, or choose to believe otherwise; tbh it makes no difference at all to me.

I find it concerning that a Motherwell midfield put together for a relative pittance could completely show up our 3 multi million pound midfielders in terms of passing ability and movement, and outplayed them most of the night.

Yes, Diomande and Raskin combined for our goal, but I feel the 3 who played last night are all too similar and, in general, don't offer enough creatively or in terms of goal return, and shouldn't all play together in the same team.

I thought the same. My only thing on this is that, as a Rangers player, you aren't allowed to act like a hammer thrower like the rest of the teams, like Motherwell. Not to mention, Motherwell got every second ball.

Any time a Rangers player went in strong, it was given as a foul.

Doesn't help that players dive and play act constantly now (Gassama included).
