Woeful.
And that's being kind.
The type of game, no matter how good the opposition are, if you have aspirations of being title winners – you need to win.
Rangers concede a last-minute goal to a side with 10 men.
Our title rivals both score last minute winners.
Gassama was absolutely honking last night. And had the gall to put on the petted lip when being substituted.
Tav broke his domestic average and gave the ball away 20 times.
Chermiti missed a sitter.
And Souttar had one of those games where one minute he's strolling out of defence like Franco Baresi and the next falling over the place like Frank Spencer.

Rohl himself is accountable. Wasn't 100% convinced of the lineup.
And the subs were even more bamboozling.
I would have brought on Rommens and Antman at the start of the 2nd half for some creativity down the left.
The only highlight was Diomande and Raskin linking up for a wonderfully worked goal. One of the rare times we broke with pace.
We now must beat Hearts.
Onwards and upwards.

Spot on, MPH.

Would anyone have taken a draw, though, if offered it at the start of the game? I'm sure a lot would have.

It's more the way the game was played.

Danny Rohl got it all wrong.

12 Feb 2026 09:07:43
Agree, MPH, that again was a must win game. You play your strongest team, and we were schooled by a well organised team who passed the ball about in a fashion that we could only dream about.

We will not win the league playing Tav, Chermiti, Meghoma, Gassama and Aasgaard. When I saw the team, it was like DR had learned nothing about dealing with these teams away.

12 Feb 2026 09:11:21
Subs lost us the game. The changes were there for everyone to see. You don't change shape unless you're chasing something. We should have changed both full backs, who had a poor night, and the front three. Olsen, Antman, and Naderi should have replaced them. Very simple, keep your core and add pace.

We have players with supposedly superior ability on the ball in the final third, so we need to play to our strengths and play attacking football.
Last night, we sat off too far, wary of Motherwell's ability to move the ball and break the lines. Our players aren't comfortable doing that. We need to go at teams.

12 Feb 2026 09:12:20
We lack experience on and off the pitch, and really need to beat Hearts on Sunday. Danny said he'd have taken a point before the game started. That's not the mentality our manager should have, so Sunday is massive. Win, it's game on, draw or lose, we are up against it.

12 Feb 2026 09:19:54
Draws shouldn't even be in our head, not before or during a game. If we draw a game, we should be walking off the park p**sed off at dropping points. Draws at this stage of the league are defeats. Winners win, and first place loses are in day dreams for draws.

12 Feb 2026 09:21:50
Wouldn't have taken a draw. 3 points last night would have shown we have the mettle to be in this title race up to the last.

As MPH said, title-winning teams make it happen, just like Hearts did in the 88th minute and Celtic did in injury time. Instead, we concede a goal in the last minute to throw away the points to a team with 10 men.

That's the facts.

Also felt we were playing with 9 men with Gassama and Chermiti on. The front line was completely ineffective. Seemed we had absolutely nothing on the left. Gassama was useless. Most disappointing player last night, imo.

To be fair to Motherwell, they deserved at least a point.

12 Feb 2026 09:28:00
No, would not have settled for a draw before the game started.
I am afraid if Danny Rohl, as part of the lead up to the game, gave players the impression a draw would be an OK result, then he is not the man to lead us forward.
It is just giving some of these gutless players an excuse.

As for Gassama, some keep saying he is young, but he is not learning. He needs to have a good look at himself. If he thinks his contribution last night was satisfactory, then he is deluded.

Should have been hooked in the first half.

Least said about Chermiti the better, just never going to make it at Rangers. If Danny Rohl persists in playing him, we have no chance of winning the league.

Tav, Butland, and Souttar are meant to be senior players. Not one takes responsibility to see out games. Just a bit of leadership would have helped in the last 10 mins last night.

12 Feb 2026 09:30:34
I think when DR went to a five at the back, he signalled his intent to try to see out the game at 0-1. That was a mistake imo. We need to take into account that Motherwell were good last night. However, his comment about looking at two games is strange, as he has always said one game at a time. Would have been better, instead of going to a five at the back, putting an extra player in midfield and controlling the game from there.

DR has been excellent, but I think he got it wrong last night. Still in our hands, but no more slip ups, as Hearts and Celtic have shown how to keep going to get 3 points. That could be the difference between winning and losing this league, and we cannot do this again going forwards.

12 Feb 2026 09:32:04
Didn't play well. Too many changes from the weekend. Diomande is gash. Sooner he's sold, the better.

12 Feb 2026 09:41:23
Last night and the Hibs game set up and lineup has really worried me. I think Rohl has got it wrong several times now away. The Celtic game was badly wrong and he corrected it at HT, after Celtic let us off the hook.

Then, last night and Hibs, we've set up not to lose, and both games never looked like winning.

Agree with MPH. I even think we got the subs wrong last night.

12 Feb 2026 09:43:16
We have far too many very poor players just now. I see the Tims are saying, if they do win the league, it's the worst Celtic team to do so. I think that could be said for us too. For both teams to be still in with a chance of the league shows how poor our league is.

12 Feb 2026 09:53:43
I think what Rohl said re taking a draw was that if you'd offered him it before the match, then he'd say, 'It is what it is.'

I think we need to give Motherwell some credit, they are no mugs. They are, by some distance, the best 'footballing' side in the league. They're hard to beat, and they don't lose goals at home, which has been demonstrated since October.

That being said, you can't be losing a goal like that in the last min when you need to see the game out.

When they go down to 10, we need to go and kill the game and present ourselves with the chance of going top of the league by 6:30pm on Sunday.

Instead, we went to 5 at the back, tried to see it out, and paid the price.

We need to take the point and ensure we leave Ibrox with 3pts on Sunday, preferably with a comfortable win.

12 Feb 2026 10:05:36
Souttar also honking on the ball.

12 Feb 2026 10:15:15
Diomande is one of our key players, Superally. To say he's gash is nonsense.
Retains the ball better than anyone in the team.

12 Feb 2026 10:43:26
?? comment, Dio created the only bright spark in the game and put the ball on a plate for Nico. Aye, he's gash. ?
Spot on, Jzer. ?

12 Feb 2026 11:44:02
Correct, Fork. Also, Chermiti's run, taking a player with him, at the goal was important.

12 Feb 2026 12:50:07
Jasp, just to clear it up for you, Tavernier had been subbed off by the time they equalised, so blaming him for a lack of leadership to see out the game is just your bias showing. As for Butland, he saved everything and didn't have much chance with the goal. What else is he supposed to do, do you want him to keep the ball in his box for the last 10 minutes? A combination of weak play by Sterling and Souttar cost the goal, and we shouldn't be surprised, as Souttar is always liable to mar a good performance by a costly mistake.

Blame people if you want, but blame the right people.

12 Feb 2026 13:36:49
Correct, JFM. ??
