According to Scottish Co-efficient account on X we are the team with a 1.25 point lead and olympiacos must beat Ajax to overtake us.
Seems the post I read earlier outlining what I've said above was infact wrong. The joys of taking info as fact without checking. Lesson learned.

Just read the article and I see what the issue is. So in the Europa league there is a minimum 3 points coefficient rule so even if we lose both games we receive 2 points taking us up to 59.25 if olympiacos lose to Ajax then they will reach 58.5 as a maximum.
Our biggest threat after that is Shaktar who are automatically into the last 16 of the conference league and if they win 4 matches they will overtake us.

Ayrshire I just checked the UEFA coefficient pages and Olympiacos sit 34th and we sit 38th so it seems that we are already behind. They are also in a position to qualify for knock outs which I think gives them bonus points. so we definitely need to win both our next games and hope they lose against Ajax.

Angus, the additional 2 points wouldn't be added to our coefficient until we are finished in the tournament as the minimum a Europa league side can gather is 3. Those additional 2 points will take us above them.
Olympiacos would still have to win against Ajax and then win their league to take the automatic spot. But the first task for us is to win the league then worry about automatic qualification.

Olympiakos are 3rd place two points behind both 1st and 2nd but they have a game in hand on both which would take the top of the table but it's a very tight league this season.

Lately it isn't easy to do that. I can tell you what the current coefficient points are and league positions. I can tell you that each club gets 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. however there are other elements such as teams in Europa league get 3 points minimum no matter how many they get. so we currently have 1 but will get 3 if we down win another game.
also you get points for where you end up in the league. Europa teams get 0 points if they finish below 24th. Champions league teams get 6.
then there are points for getting through each knockout phase.
so you can see how complicated it is. all I can tell you for a fact is that Olympiacos are currently 34th (58.5 points) and have 1 game left and we sit 38th (57.25) and have 2 games left.
so on club coefficient I think that Olympiacos will finish above us if my thoughts are right. however an added complication/benefit is that Greece is only 2 points behind Czechia in the country tables to reach 10 points. so if their teams earn 2 points more then they drop out of the equation for us.
so not as easy as it seems.

Ayrshire correct about 2 possible points at end of league phase. my main worry is that Olympiacos at worst get another 6 for their position in league and we would get none.
lets just win ours first and hope they don't and that solves it.
