Plenty saying that Saturday is not a "must win" game.
Well I'm taking the opposite view.
Win and it's a chance to draw level on points with one of our rivals for the title.
It also keeps the pressure on Hearts who play bottom club Livi and will most likely win.
It also puts down a marker that we can take points of a title rival when it matters.

It means we are also not relying on others doing us a favour as the season progresses.
It keeps the momentum heading in the right direction. Builds confidence within the squad.
Would also set us up nicely for the double header against Aberdeen.
And it piles more misery on the Nancy Bhoys.

Momentum in the way that Danny described could be said as continuous forward movement.

So logically every game is a must win or said movement/momentum ceases to exist.

01 Jan 2026 15:03:18
every game Rangers play is a must WIN no half measures.

01 Jan 2026 15:13:27
I would definitely accept a draw, that maybe keep Nancy is a job.

01 Jan 2026 16:12:33
A draw wouldn't be a disaster mph, but you're right, we really need the win to crank up the pressure.

01 Jan 2026 16:14:16
Absolutely we go there on saturday to win and draw level with them and of course that should be our only thoughts ? However if it does end in a draw, for me it's not a bad result and doesn't mean that's it we won't/can't win the league because we still absolutely could ?.

01 Jan 2026 15:43:40
I would be very happy with a draw and absolutely delighted with a win ?.

On the downside if we beat them, Nancy will probably get sacked so a draw might be better in the long run.

Give him money to spend in January and then sack him in February with a team full of players the best manager doesn't want ?.

01 Jan 2026 15:47:32
We all obviously want to win and I'd take a draw rather then getting beat by them but not to accept a draw to hope they keep a manger. That's like saying I hope we get knocked out of CL to avoid embarrassment.

01 Jan 2026 16:31:19
We go all out to win. Taking no prisoners. Sets a marker down. We seriously mean business as we strive for no1 spot. The Colonel.

01 Jan 2026 16:32:10
Beale mate we don't disagree on anything much bro but I wouldn't take the draw no way. They're there for the taking. Whether we go 433 or 343 and match them I think we could really do them a good one mate I see us winning 3 or 4 1 x.

01 Jan 2026 17:02:27
Aphe he talks about next steps and that to my interpretation doesn't necessary mean winning every game. it means moving forward and getting better with every game.
whilst I obviously want to win I don't think that losing is the be all and end all for Rangers to make progress.

a good performance first of all and take it from there. if we get that it breeds confidence for the future. short term gains yes but I want a club who wins every year.

01 Jan 2026 17:04:49
Really think anything could happen at the game on Saturday, a lot more confident than I was a week ago, draw would not be end of the world either if it keeps their manager in a job.

01 Jan 2026 17:11:42
Stevie I have got a good bet on Rangers winning at 7/2 mate, and doubled with Motherwell at 3/1, both singles as well and bigger on Rangers, on the bet builder I put on after seeing the team, Rangers win, scorer, btts, and Rangers over 2 goals, said the other day i have never been this confident going to Celtic park and winning since the 90's mate, but a draw in no way would be a bad result.

01 Jan 2026 18:20:12
I'll have a wee look at the ner builder for it bro cheers. Coventry donw me for £1300 today man.

01 Jan 2026 18:56:45
Your opinion Stevie but I can't see those scorelines as we don't score a lot of goals and tend to concede.
I think it could be a score draw but would be delighted with a win obviously, If we were to win I'm going to say 2-1.

01 Jan 2026 19:44:18
Rosevale we're going to hammer them maye they're so much all over the place with this new formation and tactics it's hilarious maye. I expect a penalty but I don't expect Tav to start so Chermiti pen maybe?

01 Jan 2026 20:19:16
It's easier to play when the expectations were lower. Two months ago the season was a write off. But in this crazy season we are back in the race. It will be an interesting month or so. I am going to keep tempering my expectations as this team is noticeably flawed.

Fragile défense, no dominant striker, and inconsistent midfield. Just hoping to ride our luck to keep a place in Europe next season.

01 Jan 2026 21:13:53
Keep a place in Europe Cana, I'm wanting champions league, what a dent that will make in the money between both clubs.

01 Jan 2026 21:15:04
Cana, Best defence in the league as well, and at least we haven't got a Nancy mate.

01 Jan 2026 22:02:36
I'm putting him in the Russell Martin camp.

01 Jan 2026 22:33:19
Joint best defence in the league with Motherwell ?.

01 Jan 2026 22:34:21
We have also scored the least amount of goals out of the teams in top 6 as well.

01 Jan 2026 22:45:56
Given Nancy's no hopers will be disappointed without win.

01 Jan 2026 23:07:13
Stevie we don't hammer anybody, and it's a derby at Celtic park and regardless how their form is it's a one off game, and they are still ahead of us in the table.
We have done better since Rohl came in but not convincing in a lot of games so for me it could go any way, we need to step up as each time this season we have faced a bigger challenge we have fell down.

Word of caution Stevie I recall the same noise about them coming to Ibrox this time last year to turn us over when we weren't playing well, on the day we probably performed to our best levels the whole season and won comfortably, so it can happen.

01 Jan 2026 23:54:57
I'm not of the opinion that Saturday is must win, but I desperately want to win and believe we can. The Hearts defeat and subsequent results make me think regardless of the result we're still in a title race. However if we win, we put ourselves in a right good position and keep the momentum in our favour.

02 Jan 2026 06:27:54
My star that's a terrific price on Rangers mate ?I myself put 30 quid on them at the beginning of the week in wullie hills at 16/5 and i thought that was a very good price/bet ?A nice wee 126 quid back for my 30 if we beat them the morra and without shouting anything from the rooftops i'm quietly confident we will beat them ????.

02 Jan 2026 07:13:44
Sws £200 on Rangers at 7/2 mate, actually wish i went bigger, £50 on a double Rangers at 7/2 and Motherwell 3/1, had a £100 single on Motherwell, Celtic has won me a decent amount of cash since Nancy.
