8M on Chermiti. They have lost their heads really have! This window has been a disaster and spend a fortune as well and let our best players go. 4 games 4 draws. Absolutely destroyed in Europe.

It's Purdy identifying the targets and negotiating the fees. Thelwell is the approved. Martin has no say currently on signings. This was different earlier in the summer.

Ehl did thelwell not sign this boy for Everton? He must have had some sort of input? The boy turn out to be great but it reeks of desperation.

Bonzo, it's funny as Martin had no input in to this signing and Thelwell only supported in the finalisation of the deal.
This signing was identified and progressed by Purdy. Although I've never seen a lad kicking a ball, based on my interactions with Purdy I'd have ever faith that he's going to be an absolute star for us.

Agree John, the recruitment dept obviously rate this lad having bought him previously. That said, I thought Mijovski was going to be our 1st choice No.9. I can't see us spending £8M on a squad player, unless we are going to play two up front? Or can this lad play on the wing?

KJ, an interesting post. Which of our best players have we let go? We sold Jefte for a very good fee and Iga didn't want to be here, so it made sense to sell him. We got hammered by Brugge, but we got past Pana and Plzen before that and guaranteed Europa league football. I know next to nothing about Chermiti, but we've got to give the boy a chance before he's written off.

This has got MoneyBall Purdy all over it. I wonder what algo takes into account the variables of playing plastic pitches and low blocks on a Sunday then Roma at Home in front of, what could be anything from, 30,000 to 55,000 fans depending on how the football is.
Is it different from Koppen? EHL was Koppen a guy who relied on data as much as the next guy in 2025?

Verdant. You just posted exactly what I was going to. Let's not judge a book by its cover guys. Young players are always a risk. It might very well work out a good bit of business. It might not. Let's give the guy our support if he does arrive. Not lambast the guy like some of the support done with Dessers.

An Everton fans page popped up on my FB page yesterday and from reading some of the comments, there are a good number who wanted him to stay at Everton and all acknowledging that he's not had an opportunity at Everton.

Hardly think 8M is smacking of desperation. think its more like someone knows something of this lad and thinks he is well worth it. hope it comes to fruition but let's stop writing people off before they even kick a ball here.
