So RM has named players in senior leadership group. Tav butland and dowell named. Why can't managers see what all fans do thstbDowell simply isn't good enough.

Under different manager's with different styles we just never know in football OWS ?If Martin thinks dowell is good enough then we have to wait and see how it pans out and who knows mate ?.

He's not been good enough that's not to say he's not capable. He's very much a confidence player and Martin very much a confidence giver. I would like him moved on and replaced saying that.

Have to admit OWS I always let out a sigh when Dowell is in or around the first 11 but willing to give him a chance if RM deems he's standing out training and can fit his system well.

Ows, Dowell is a good championship player, played the top flight also, he was also a part of the England squad that won the under 20 World Cup, he's not nearly as bad a player as the majority of Rangers fans make him out, I agree he's never done anything in a Rangers jersey but he's mainly been injured and barley featured, I do know Martin rates him as it was one of the first things i heard after he was named manager.

Dowell Hardly played last season at Rangers due to injury, went on loan done well at birmingham, i'm all for giving players another chance.

Cmon onewalter just give the mangers job to the fans lol. RM has obv seen him in training and believes he's best option for now. He has been poor in our jersey but apparently he had a cracking loan spell and going to have to trust the gaffer.

I don't think Dowell is a bad player. The main thing I can't stand about his game though is he does not track back in the slightest. Many times when he's had a chance playing against Celtic he just saunters back when they're breaking.
If RM has the basic standard of running hard then he's in for a shock with Dowell.

He is not going to get in the midfield as it's currently stacked. He's most likely only featuring because we have little ready to go on that right hand side currently.

Iv yet to see a game where Dowell stood out for us and made the difference also if RM wants player with mobility to come down dowell can't do it simply don't get why he's evdn art of our squad.

Here's a thought onewalter - RM sees more of the players than we do and obviously thinks differently to fans who quickly judge and then ridicule players.

He never called them his "leadership" group, he said they were senior group and was talking about them welcoming new players helping create environment.

I could flip the question and say why fans not see what every manager has seen in that he is a good player. I can actually give you the answer as well in that fans don't see the player all the time and only one or two have that football knowledge to identify a good player. perhaps if we just accept the players for once that manager spick and give them our support then we would see the best version of that player every week.

Angus our captain james tavernier is a prime example of what you're saying mate ? Like i've said before, it's no coincidence that every manager at Rangers since tav signed rates him highly and keeps him as captain, are they all wrong i ask ?Also think of how many top football pundits that have stated they rate james tavernier, i suppose they're all wrong also and the small minority who don't rate tav are correct ? Somehow i don't think so and i know who i believe.

We've ruined too many decent players in the past by judging on a friendly performance or the first couple games. If we actually give players time to settle, get fit etc then we'd likely have players kick on as confidence grows.
If a player aimlessly runs around and throws arms in the air the every now and then, that makes them a great player in some people's eyes - Hagi for one.
If RM likes Dowell then let's give him the chance and get behind the team. There will be ups and downs this season with all the changes but more ups if we actually support the team and remove the animosity towards certain individuals.

Agree SWS but we make an opinion of someone and it is difficult to change that. all of Tavs issues are that we haven't won anything, other than 3 trophies, and he is lumbered with being the captain during that time.
I would also like to point out that despite the new Angus having similar opinions we are not using the same ISP. I almost feel like I have a groupie and this could get confusing. welcome Angus Mark II.
