With what you know EHL, when you state correctly what was said by paarag marathe at the very recent EGM, "be prepared to be surprised" regarding signings, should we be excited by the players that you know of, we're trying to sign?

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jun 2025 08:18:44
SWS I am allowed to say with great certainty that you should get excited about the future of our great club.
Natural order will be restored and we will return to dominance.

28 Jun 2025 08:45:53
Sir Walter

That's how I heard and read it.

But seen a few posts saying some have taken it the wrong way.

But I reckon if the club managed to get the players they want to depart we will be in for a few good players when space and wages made available

I think Turgeman would be an exciting signing

Be interesting to see who else we go for when space is made available hopefully ?.

28 Jun 2025 08:49:56
Absolutely trust your word Asa and thanks very much for the reply my friend, very much appreciated.

28 Jun 2025 08:52:38
I pray you are right, Asa. And we should all relish in it when it happens.

28 Jun 2025 08:52:50
Couldn't have put it any better Asa.

28 Jun 2025 08:53:12
Sws, I taking it as surprisd as it has not been mentioned anywhere looking for clicks mate.

28 Jun 2025 08:55:19
You've said it before Asa and it needs repeating. We are on our way back to the top. Exciting times.

28 Jun 2025 08:57:35
I of course do hope that maybe the standard of players we bring in will 'surprise' us in terms of them being of a very high standard and players already playing at a high level… however I will say I think people, and especially the press, are reading a little too much into what was said. What I think he was actually saying was more along the lines of, 'we don't want the names of players we are after to be well known and constantly talked about in the press, as this could drive prices up, we want it to be a "surprise" to the fans when we announce a signing. So I believe it was more a case of being a surprise 'when' signings are announced because they weren't all over the press, rather than being 'surprised' by the names of the players we sign. Of course it would be great if it was both. Just worried that the press are trying to build that statement up as a 'stick to beat us with' if the players brought in aren't well known 'big names'.

28 Jun 2025 09:20:49
No bother at all my friend. I can assure you that this regime will not suffer fools lightly.

As a group this regime has the business credentials to back up rhetoric.

We are back!

28 Jun 2025 09:51:20
Gers I would agree with you on the owners wanting to keep our transfer business quiet for just this reasons especially if they are not as well known. however they don't seem to making that good a job of it with the number of names released to the press. either that or agents are telling everyone we are after.

28 Jun 2025 10:31:32
Tbf Angus think that's from outside inquiries, and buying or selling clubs making it known to drive interest or £'s up for club n agents.

28 Jun 2025 10:44:13
Maybe the surprises are Taylor n Kyogo???.

28 Jun 2025 10:46:21
The club seem to be operating a closed doors policy in terms of names/ transfers etc. Imo, nobody outside of the boardroom knows anything and anything that is circulating is paper talk and agents banding their clients names about. Things have been slow so far so I'll wait and see before I get too excited.

28 Jun 2025 10:53:18
Yes Angus but the point is, are these the players we are actually after/ in discussions with? Nothing was known regards Max Aaron until a media outlet in Spain broke the story as he had been with Valencia on loan. It was only after they reported it that the papers here started to talk about him, and by then it was a pretty much done deal with everything agreed.

28 Jun 2025 11:34:20
Asa, whilst I'd like to believe you there seems no evidence of it yet. Return to dominance? . i'd say we'd need 4 or 5 quality signings- say£50 m spend but I cannot see that happening. we need more than blind faith.

28 Jun 2025 11:54:02
A bold claim Asa, let's hope it comes to fruit. If, as you say, we become successful again and the business model works, I'd be surprised if another franchise wasn't eying up a similar move for the puddle drinkers. Maybe not an NFL franchise, perhaps NBA.

28 Jun 2025 11:55:30
@ Asathor not to be argumentative but want is this natural order you keep mentioning. Certainly Rangers have had periods of dominance in their history but the last time that happened was in the 90s which was almost 30 years ago.

There were a lot of lean years in the 60s/ 70s and early to mid 80s so not really sure there is a " natural order" as your term its just periods were Rangers were doing really well. If you look at the last 20 odd years "natural order" would be Celtic winning most trophies but, like most things, this won't last forever. With the recent investment in both Hibs and especially Hearts we shouldn't be surprised if those two plus maybe Aberdeen start to disrupt things a bit more.

I think it would be remiss of both the Glasgow clubs to dismiss the challenge these clubs could present. From speak to Brighton fans I work with Bloom is no mug and knows what he's is doing!

28 Jun 2025 11:55:53
Colonel,

More excited by business acumen new owners overshadowing and out playing old regime. We now have new regime outright majority with excellent previous.

28 Jun 2025 12:07:36
To give an indication of just how good we are at keeping things private, there have been two potential new signings at the training centre this week and I haven't seen or heard their names mentioned outside of the club.

It's impressive.

28 Jun 2025 12:44:13
Lanzarote it can't happen overnight but trust me my wallet does not operate on blind Faith or supporters demands for that matter.

28 Jun 2025 12:48:34
By Natural order i mean pre 2012 events. Always more successful and most successful in the world in terms of trophies.

I am not underestimating anyone I am merely confident in my partners.

28 Jun 2025 12:49:36
Again talk is cheap and i'd rather go down younger prospect route than players that are past thier best coming to Rangers because career faltering elswhere cause let's face it if they are coming to scotland there's a reason.

28 Jun 2025 13:22:44
Fork, Gers, EHL the point there is nothing coming from the club is one I still think is the case. Pussyfooting around saying it given the reaction to a poster yesterday who was hounded and called a Celtic supporter. but good to hear from someone at the club that the rumours aren't getting out.

There are other ways for these to be known but difficult to know if true or just an agent trying to create a market for their client. I like to read these rumours, sometimes with incredulity but always want to wait until that scarf holding moment before I truly believe they have signed.

28 Jun 2025 13:29:20
Mojo I think the natural order in Scottish football is for both sides of the OF to have periods in the ascendency. since 1986 to our bankruptcy year we won 17 of the league and you won 9. since we came back up you have won every one apart from 1. so money is the main differentiator in who wins the title, well at least from the 80s.

so natural order to me would be us at least competing on an equal footing again. better for both clubs and Scottish football in general. if the others can take points and make the league competitive then even better although I think there will be large groups of fans form both clubs who would struggle with that prospect.

28 Jun 2025 14:12:08
ASA liked your war cry there, I am now going to call you THOR lol.

28 Jun 2025 16:08:42
Hi Angus, I totally agree with your comments about even footing and both teams running each other closely for titles and trophies. Asathor seemed to be implying that Rangers being in the ascendancy was the natural order which I do take exception to.

I do think some of the other teams will make it harder in the coming years whilst not necessarily winning the title. Potentially exciting times ahead and transfer window will hot up in the next few weeks. Think Celtic will buy a couple of big players this year and Engles will be more prominent this season and really show his worth, despite what some Celtic fans think! You guys Keeping Raskin will be important as he is the one that can drive your team forward.

28 Jun 2025 17:40:01
Agree Mojo I think Asa is referring to our having the upper hand on title wins before our demotion and being the team with the most titles worldwide. a fact I suppose but the bankruptcy change d all of that IMO. personally I think we have a lot of work to do before we can get back there as Celtic gained the upper hand and gained financially so they were able to drive forward and won lots of titles. I also don't think that you will sit back and let us catch up without a reaction. we both accept it takes players a bit to settle so it may be Engels does progress. Our challenge would be if Raskin goes and we need to replace him as we then have that settling period. at least or I hope so there will be more of a challenge to you unlike last few years. interesting times.

28 Jun 2025 17:42:47
Mojo, clearly with Rangers having those lean periods and Celtic, only now catching up, shows the 'natural' order. Rangers were always well ahead of Celtic, even with War titles not counting for us.

28 Jun 2025 19:25:30
Mojo you're correct to say what u have said mate

ASA hasn't said anything wrong really though, it's a term used in football a lot isn't it? Maybe as a bit of banter from one set of fans to the other rather than factual.

Personally I don't like it I think it shows arrogance whicj I'm against in general in life.
But Asa is only making a comment used by many on both sides I'd say mate.

28 Jun 2025 19:30:03
Fair enough Stevie G.

As I said I think Scottish football could be in for an interesting few years and I think we all agree that it's the closest competition that makes it exciting.
