'However big we expand Ibrox, we know we'll fill it'.

These are very interesting words. Is there a limit to what we can feasibly do with our ground?

Anyone itk regarding this?

Conducting surveys as we speak.

Great stuff but definitely a while away but until then hope they can improve outside the stadium, would hope that's feasible sooner.

Good to hear asathor.

24 Jun 2025 10:49:22
Thanks Asa.

Would just like it to be bigger than theirs but not sure our max could be.

24 Jun 2025 11:08:48
The Copland and Broomloan are feasible and a third tier on both is possible with minimal disruption. Cost will have to be assessed but sound like options are being explored.

24 Jun 2025 11:43:16
Doesn't necessarily have to be bigger. just better. Better entrance, better facilities, better experience in all areas. And a winning team.

24 Jun 2025 12:02:58
The costs will ultimately pay themselves back over time and now we have the financial backing to do what's required there will no doubt be some sort of expansion happening.

24 Jun 2025 12:17:47
Agree colonel but would also love it to be bigger and eventually crush them in every area - but more important things currently the starting 11 and squad to be ready for the season ahead.

24 Jun 2025 12:26:44
Sounds like a few have given up there season tickets this season as the club are now filling them off the waiting list.
Like everything it boils down to having a successful team because if we don't we don't need extra capacity. How many games was Ibrox actually full last season, not many.

24 Jun 2025 12:41:31
If I can remember correctly I read a while back that we can't dig any further down the way, think our only option was to take away the big screens. Can anyone confirm or correct me on this?

24 Jun 2025 12:38:07
Been saying for a while. Stick the big screens outside the stadium with seated paying area. More seats inside and out.
Not sure of the logistics for it thou.

24 Jun 2025 12:41:14
Kingandulster, yeah i think the reason we can't drop the pitch wa sdue to the water table from the clyde.

24 Jun 2025 12:44:34
Surrounding areas of the stadium are a joke, potholes everywhere, the walkway up to stadium from subway station could be doing with new surface or paving with lights all along the walkway walking up to stadium.

24 Jun 2025 12:45:29
I know it's been looked at for years but what could attendance realistically be increased to? Would love it to be more than them for revenue but don't think we can. Always came back to difficulties as listed building.

24 Jun 2025 13:25:38
I'm sure they will explore all the options for stadium expansion. Not sure how far you want them to improve outside the stadium, the road from the tube might be covered in pot holes but I think it's beyond our priorities for the time being.

24 Jun 2025 13:35:48
I'm sure when Willie Waddel had a look at a few German stadiums, he came up with our plan and it was built with the contingency of adding on up to 70k or thereabouts.
Stadium design has changed, but the structure is there to be expanded, I'm sure.

Cletus

Of course there's limit to size/ depth any new stadium. Main stand club bastion/ Penistone but it is untouchable due to architectural rules/ regs making building round it difficult. I'll be first to say it new ibrox looks c@@@ and needs proper rebuild and not present cheap brickwork. Only reasonatble enlargement is building up. 3 new stands of 3 tier each all seated giving Ibrox 70k maximum capacity. My only downer with this only fit for football. If oval 3 tier 70k stadium perfect all large events and a revenue earner. Just a thought.

24 Jun 2025 14:00:49
My thinking was a mixture of all your replies lads, hence the question. So the only way is up, as yazz quite rightly pointed out. Fill in the corners and build up from the stands then seems the only feasible option?

Crazy idea, but would you be up for a brand new stadium, 80k seats.

24 Jun 2025 14:30:19
Not for me Cletus - I know a lot of big teams have left their spiritual home but would break my heart leaving ibrox.
