I'm not surprised at this, i've said before i'd imagine tav being well liked in the dressing room and obviously has a lot of respect from players and managers that come in. I'm not expecting him to get as many minutes and hope we bring in kasa or sterling can stay fit enough and we'll see a raskin or someone else be the captain on the pitch.

More to it than that, I read an " if he plays" in amongst that, also a " 50 or 20 games it's up to him" and an " if he buys into it". Think RM has his eyes wide open tbh.

Why would any manager that's just in the door not take some time to assess who might be best captain, especially as Tav doesn't exactly have a great winning record?

The way i see it is he will be there another season. There's no way we can replace just about the whole side that every body is expecting this will be done gradual.

He's not going to come in and strip our current hall of fame captain straight away. That would send out the wrong message to the whole team. Give it til after pre-season and let's wait and see if Tavs still here ?.

I'd be more worried if we didn't bring in a new rb with the potential t9 be at least playing 30 plus games a reason tav being used when needed would be OK, but if we're going to constantly use him then I'd say he has a lot more influence or something in his contract.

Teddy blue do you think if we changed who the captain was last season it would have made any difference. Players who aren't captain officially can still be captains and leaders on the park. Tav shouldn't have been played as much as he was last season, but that wasn't helped by sterlings and kasanwijro injuries. It's nowt to do with who the captain is we need a better team over all.

Rangers Royal - a new manager can come in a put his own stamp on it. Tav has seen off enough managers. The right time for Martin to dispense with Tav as captain is now. We need a fresh start in leadership positions across the board.

It would be foolish to strip him of it via the media don't you think? Regardless of your views on Tav if he's stripped he should be sat down by RM and told and the reasons behind it. I'd have grave concerns about RM if he said he's stripping him in the media.
Let's see where the squad is at come the end of the window. Tav might not even make the squad but remain under contract, remain the Club Captain but not Captain the team.

My guess is our season wouldn't have been so dire if Raskin had been captain. We finished 17 points behind Celtic with a goal difference of 47 less than our only rivals. The captain has to take some responsibility for such a failure.

We have no wingers and basically 1 center back so that's top priority. Need a new striker and attacking mid. Fringe and loan players to sell. All of these I would see as a priority ahead of replacing Tav.

Raskin was on the pitch for every single game more or less, him being captain would not have changed the outcome of the season. this illusion that this comes down to one man and doing something like swapping an armband on someone's arm would have changed anything. i'm not advocating for tav to be captain or be a starter i'm all for changing captain and all for getting a new right back. Tav shouldn't have been a starting right back last season but who else was going to play there. People seem to point the blame towards one person though when the whole team underperformed last season and having raskin as captain wouldn't have changed that.

EHL has hinted at Tav not being here and also told us Kasawirjo was being signed permanently. If that's the case no need to strip Tav of the captaincy. I hope Raskin is our captain next season but let's wait and see how it plays out ?.

I read it the same way fork, that he will captain if he plays, but he will still be the club captain even when he doesn't play, armband will just pass to somebody else if he's not on park.
I have nothing against him being captain btw, but I just think with all going on it was the perfect chance to give somebody else a chance. I fully expect Tav to be here next year but it might take the pressure off of him and take him out of firing line a bit if he doesn't hit the ground running this year.

Fee is agreed for Kasa and contract offer agreed in principle.
It's down to the player to decide - so imagine he'd want a conversation with RM wrt his plans etc.
