I'm suprised as all the chat has been a German manager, Gerrard facts or Ancelotti.
For me Ancelotti was too big a risk, has never been leading a team before and always coached under his dad. He may be brilliant or terrible, we don't know yet.
Martin has a strong attitude, has done well to get Southampton promoted and briefly played for us.
By all accounts reading up on him, his upbringing and his career is very a very determined individual.
He is still a risk, certainly looks like has work to do to win the fans over but hopefully he can get us playing entertaining football and winning again.
I for one will be backing him, hopefully does well for us! We need a good season!

Paul a 60% win rate in the championship is very good against far better opposition, posters will try and dish him in any other way they can but a 60% win record in the championship can't be dished from anyone.

Everyone should listen to RM's interview on The Rest is Football podcast on YouTube. It's an interesting insight to him as both a person and a coach. The assertion that he doesn't change formation is a myth, but his football philosophy and the way he wants to play the game stays the same. As always, player recruitment will be key, especially to fit his style. I will be supporting him and wish him all the best.
