My comment about proven incompetent was in relation to the original poster saying he would have rather Ferguson and co over any the managers in question.
Judging by the rest of your post you just wish to have any reason to have a go at me and to continue your rhetoric about wanting British.

I'm afraid you will always get a reaction like that Asathor when you call a Rangers legend incompetent. By the way i really didn't want BF to stay after the season ended. But when you look at what he took over from PC calling him incompetent is a bit strong.
Why can't we just stop all the arguing over the next manager at least until it's announced.

It brings the forum down.
To me it's taken all out of context
I agree that persistent anti-foreign rhetoric can absolutely become offensive
but there's a key difference between genuine xenophobia and criticism of foreign influence or policy. Not every concern about immigration, foreign investment, or international governance is rooted in bigotry or in this instance the manager of Rangers Football Club.
It's important to allow space for legitimate debate on these issues without immediately labeling opposing views as offensive. Otherwise, we risk shutting down conversations that are legitimate to what the poster believes to be true whilst following the club and the success it's seen under various managers and the time frames over the posters lifetime
not every critical view of something "foreign" is
a critique of foreign influence is xenophobia.
For example
Sometimes people are fed up with bad policies, not foreign people. Big difference.
We can't just slap the "offensive" label on every uncomfortable opinion. Debate dies when nuance does.
In Relation to Rangers dick Advocaat was the only Foreign manager growing up up watching my club was successful I'm not taking into account English mangers etc
Mangers out with the Uk bar Advocaat in my time growing up never were successful that's not me being Anti Foreign.
just what I've witnessed and watched during my time following my club and the coaches who have led the team.
I haven't seen BB4 being or showing anything or writing anything like Anti foreign-Rhetoric
Only a difference of opinion like many others who would rather a British manager than a foreign Manager

Apologies for thinking it was Gerrard, but it's just the same with ferguson, as when anyone on here gives reasons why they don't want terzic (my choice btw) rose etc you start calling it anti-foreign asa that's all i was pointing out. I've not got a bit of anti-foreign in my whole body, if you followed my posts I make it blatantly obvious that's who I am as a person. I'll ask again asathor please show me a post where I mentioned anything close, you can't make those kind of accusations and not back them up with something. The whole site knows you've brought this up 4 or 5 times but not one person on here can say that I've ever been anti-foreign as it's never happened facts!

I've not really got involved with the manager chat at all mystar. I said right at the start who I wanted and I've left it alone since. I just wish it was done. I've stayed away days at a time as it's become so repetitive. Can't wait until it's announced.

BF was incompetent as a manager I don't see what wrong with that. He was a legend as a player.

Not that it makes much difference but Rangers dropped 39 points last season - 25 under PC from a possible 81 with a further 14 from a possible 33 under BF. It doesn't take much to see that BF's percentage of points won was much less than PC. So maybe this nonsense that BF should've been given more time can be put to bed.

We should all be free to give reasons why we don't want a certain manager purely for football reasons, without anything to do with anything else.

This is just getting to a stage where no one will want to post or say anything, all the bickering across lots of topics is saddening. Sad state of affairs when you can't say anything without being castigated. Site is poorer for it, regardless of what topic is discussed, there is always a niggle.
Lots are guilty of it, I've done it myself, seasons over let's look forward not inward at personal beefs.

BB4 there was no need to apologise, you are correct we should be able to give our opinions freely.
I have nothing against people preferring British managers but I ask that when dismissing others it is not solely down to being foreign.
It was never my intention to cause you upset and I value your input.
I hope we can continue to debate football solely on football reasons in the future.

Nothing wrong with wanting a Britsh person to fill a Britsh jobs if they are the best person for the job. We should not look to the foreign market in general if we have the employees here already. BF stepped up when we needed an interim manager. He took charge of players not of hos choosing. Did anybody really expect him to get the same players that played so poorly so often for OC to suddenly become a team that would beat all comers. He done OK under the circumstances he was dealing with and I thank him for stepping up when he did. Not sure why that's so hard for some fans to do but we're all different. I'm glad the season is done and we can move on. Just let's get the announcement done before this site erupts completely.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it only becomes a problem when things are aimed personally which I don't think is the case here.
