Following on from my post yesterday I would like to clear one thing up.
At no point did I say that Healy was a candidate worth serious consideration.
Although I viewed some comments that were hard to understand. The reason I think Healy is better than Ferguson is that he is evidently more successful.
By any metric used he has a higher win percentage than Ferguson at any club he has been at.
The northern Irish league may not be strong but Linfield play a more entertaining brand of football than I have witnessed so far with Ferguson and by all accounts his time at Clyde, Blackpool, Alloa and Kelty were not much better.
I was merely attempting to point out that to some the only requirements they have of the new manager is they are "Staunch" to quote the terminology used.
Who embodies that more than someone who mimicked flute playing.

Thank you SWS, I understand why people like Ferguson and I appreciate him as a legend of the club but as I said last week,
I can say with great certainty that the new regime has no interest in sentimentality.

Asathor I think aslong as the new regime do not make the same mistakes as the previous regime when it comes to appointing a new manager then we'll be going in the right direction. I would also like the new regime to overhaul the scouting department and how we identify players. Perhaps the lack of sentimentality will clear the decks and set us off on the right foot. Out with the old and in with new.

Ferguson was put in to appease the old guard and that's evident with the dial being turned up slightly in the bigoted songs at away games since his arrival. In my opinion he's not the guy to take us forward and has not shown anymore consistency than clement and Gio before him. He's the show pony to keep the staunch fir hards happy. In my opinion that is, many will disagree.

I don't think Barry's got anything g to do with what songs are being sung tbh. More likely the fact we're aye getting pumped 2-0 and they're giving it the cry was no surrender.

Just for clarification can I ask you guys a simple question and let's forget Clement as the board acted so no point saying clement should have stayed until end of season
I shouted that for ages on here everyone wanted rid of him
So question is - was Ferguson a mistake? If so who would you have preferred that you all know of would have taken the interim job on until summer?

Stig in my opinion no he was not a "Mistake" he was rightly a cheap option with links to the football club to oversee things until takeover.
Clement was far superior in every sense as a manager but in my opinion was sacked months too late.
That was the mistake.
A better interim could have been found if Clement was dismissed in October/ November.

Good post ASA and see the logic but gut feeling is 49rs group will be aiming for a higher profile manager with more broader and robust winning resume imho- suffice to say it will be very interesting to see who we have in the hot seat for start of season?.
