Kosta NedeljkoviΔ signing now confirmed - season long loan and a conditional obligation to buy.
19 Aug 2026 11:33:05
Look forward to seeing him play, hopefully turns out to be our first choice right back. Big shout out to Sterling as he looks like a man on a mission this year, obviously can't take the chance of him being fit for the season. Good business yet again. Starting to really surprise me this scouting department.
19 Aug 2026 11:40:45
I wonder if we'll see Sterling used more as a CB.
19 Aug 2026 11:44:29
Delighted with this one and really excited to see the lad play.
Really hope this triggers a move for Sterling.
19 Aug 2026 11:46:57
Welcome to the club Kosta. πππ
19 Aug 2026 11:47:14
I think Sterling will be sold before close of the window.
19 Aug 2026 11:53:14
Welcome, and if we manage to meet the conditional buy fee, then we will have got a great bargain. Hope this lad smashes it and we see more of Drago playing. What a coup these two could prove to be.
19 Aug 2026 11:55:53
Are you not a fan of Sterling as a player, EHl? I know you're not the biggest fan of him as a person.
19 Aug 2026 11:59:56
We might see Sterling used as a CB, certainly capable. As for a move, I don't know what his wages are, but it could be dependent on the financial side and his injury record.
Either way I'd be happy if he stayed or got sold.
19 Aug 2026 12:08:36
With Sterling's injury history, who buys him and how much are they prepared to risk?
19 Aug 2026 12:12:07
Really excited with his signing. Probably 1st signing this summer where I'm really pleased. Next please - new LCB.
19 Aug 2026 12:16:33
Like the look of this guy. If he can put his injury problems behind him, I think he could be our Tav replacement.
19 Aug 2026 12:39:08
Sterling won't be going anywhere.
Just put that to bed. Not looking to move.
19 Aug 2026 12:51:35
Someone better tell the two clubs who are currently in talks with Sterling over a move.
Seems a shame to be wasting their time.
19 Aug 2026 12:53:23
If it triggers a move for Sterling, I hope that then triggers a move for a cb!
Souttar (leaving)
Nsiala (leaving)
Fernandez (not at his best and needs help/rested/dropped for his own good for a bit)
Godfrey (coming back from injury)
Makhanya (looks decent so far)
I think we need a nailed on starter for that CB spot, and that then gives us a decent defense with decent options.
Penrice + Rommens LBs
Nedeljkovic + Mccrorie RBs
Fernandez + Makhanya + Godfrey + new starter CBs.
19 Aug 2026 12:53:29
Been a while since Sterling was injured now, really can't see him going anywhere, very handy player that can play any defensive role.
19 Aug 2026 12:54:22
I believe Derby offered 750k for him. I'm sure that's what John said a while back.
19 Aug 2026 12:56:00
Pleased with this, as we desperately needed a right-back. I just hope his injury issues are behind him.
Onto a centre-half, creative midfielder, winger (or two) and a striker.
Make it so Rangers.
19 Aug 2026 13:16:55
How long has Sterling left on his current deal? If it was 1 or 2 years, I would consider keeping him as he is a very useful utility player. Can play across the back 4/5 and can also play as a def mid.
Appreciate he is one of the top earners, but he is still probably the best 1vs1 defender at the club and the best players when dealing with a pacey winger.
19 Aug 2026 13:10:15
750k Stevie G? At that price I'd keep him. Not many get passed Sterling. I know, I know. Just keep him fit.
19 Aug 2026 13:29:19
Sterling is looking to be moved on.
Both club and player.
19 Aug 2026 13:40:37
And also just to add about Sterling, he hasn't always been injured as such when he's been out, he has had health issues, but everyone hoping that it's now under control.
So these are things any buying club would be aware of.
19 Aug 2026 13:42:56
Let's hope it lets us get rid of Sterling. Injury prone, not good enough imo and in no way should he be playing CH ever.
19 Aug 2026 13:49:41
Ss for the central defence, there are still targets being looked at, but from what I understand none are particularly close at this stage. The main issue is that we have very little room to manoeuvre financially until players such as Sterling and Souttar are moved on, which is limiting the available budget.
I feel for Nsiala again because he's effectively in the same position he found himself in last year.
He has a move lined up, but the club can't let him go just yet as they need defensive cover. Unfortunately, his transfer fee and wages alone don't generate enough savings to fund the arrival of another defender - so he's in limbo.
19 Aug 2026 14:00:19
Spot on, Wullie. Ehl commented on the health issues months n months ago.
19 Aug 2026 14:41:50
750k is a good price for him, I think.
The amount of games he's missed and the high wage he's on make that appealing to me.
Gives us 1.75m total. I'd be happy with that.
Souttar should be sold too. I did say Β£3m was my price, but see, just now I'd tell the clubs interested, call it 2 and be done with it.
I'd be bringing in Smalling on loan.
19 Aug 2026 14:42:06
Sorry Smalling on a free.
19 Aug 2026 14:22:39
EHL who's holding the Souttar move up? Are the club not agreeing fees or is Souttar not getting the wages he wants?
19 Aug 2026 14:49:19
Strom, I think you are in the minority who think Sterling isn't good enough. One v ones we don't have any player better in those situations imo.
19 Aug 2026 14:59:27
Interesting to hear that Sterling hasn't been out solely due to injury issues and it's been health related.
I hope he's on the road to recovery. He always looks like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders too, but outward appearances aren't always inward realities.
Anyway, I hope he's getting the support and help he needs, whatever it is.
I like him, strong, fast, athletic, versatile!
19 Aug 2026 15:06:02
Star, what do you mean a while since he's been injured? McInnes said he has been helped through injury in pre-season, and whoop, he has managed to play 4 games without injury, but given his history, we should 100% be looking to offload him asap.
Storm, I agree with you, bud.
19 Aug 2026 15:18:44
Bigbluejim, I never heard that. When was Sterling last injured? Maybe not capable of playing 3 games in 8 days, but good enough for 2 in 4 though, very handy player.
19 Aug 2026 15:33:19
Correct on Sterling's health issues.
He missed a game at the start of the season, and it was reported that he was injured, however, this was following a regular injection he receives, after which he cannot play.
19 Aug 2026 15:37:27
I like Sterling. I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell
him, as I think he's worth more for the fee games he can play than the rumoured fees.
19 Aug 2026 16:19:39
Foolmonty, I don't care if I am in minority as I was with Souttar and I turned out to be right on him. I am not a sheep. I give my opinion on players. Some will be right, some will be wrong, it's the way of the world.
19 Aug 2026 16:45:42
Some people get nothing wrong on here. ππ€£
19 Aug 2026 17:01:50
Thank you, Fork, it's nice to be recognised.

Think that's what I was eluding to Ehl, Dm said he was injured and was being helped through it so I assume that's what he was referring to.
Star, that's your opinion bud, but he is hardly available at the best of times so if we can get his wages gone and get a small fee then we 100% take it no matter what.
19 Aug 2026 17:25:54
Bigbluejim, all I've said is it's been a while since Sterling missed a game through injury, a good few months. You don't see him as a handy player, fair play, I see him capable of playing any defensive position as handy.
19 Aug 2026 21:56:51
Not a problem, Pieter. ππ€£
