We have apparently submitted a bid of $10m for the lad from Portland timbers

14 Aug 2026 05:48:43
Too little too late!

14 Aug 2026 06:14:37
It certainly is, mate.

I suppose these things take a bit of time. Chermiti was only injured a few days ago.

However the money must've been there to pay for Dahl.

Or a left back or a better centre back or an extra EUR1m that we've now paid anyway for Driouch.

I'm afraid we've been too tight with the money this summer, and it's cost us dearly.

14 Aug 2026 06:33:00
Not going for Dahl has proved a horrendous decision, cause he's exactly what we lack. Most of us knew it was a poor decision anyway. By the time Celtic had signed just Hogh, which was only their second signing, they hit the ground running and looked levels better than last year.

How can we sign 9 and look worse? How can we continue to sign 5+ each summer window and look worse? It's bad days when you've got St Mirren at Ibrox this Sunday and don't feel confident.

14 Aug 2026 06:56:09
The 4 signings they've made completely eclipse the 10 signings we've made tbh. At this stage I'm not even turning up for the Old Firm because they'll absolutely do us if we stay on this trajectory.

14 Aug 2026 07:04:52
I'll agree there - we are going to get absolutely skelped by Celtic.

14 Aug 2026 07:12:26
We started this transfer window thinking we were getting Dahl or even possibly Fergie.
We've got Devlin and Dragojevic instead.
No offence to the 2 we signed, but they are not the same calibre of player.

I'm just as pissed off as everyone else, and I'm not saying sack Del, but some of his decisions in the first 4 games have been baffling, especially his subs.

People can point out new manager, new players, etc., but that doesn't fly for me.
Other teams also have a new manager and players, and they don't look as disjointed as we do.

The defence looks so sloppy.
The midfield still has no creativity.
In attack Yomota looks decent, but Naderi looks lost, and him and Shankland do not work together.

The start of this season literally couldn't have gone any worse. 1 point in the league from 2 games, out of the Europa already.
Chermiti out for 9 months minimum. Rommens out, who is increasingly looking like another Yilmaz to me, out more than available.

Things need to improve, and fast.

14 Aug 2026 07:24:28
Naderi, at 22, playing in the German 3rd tier for a reason.

My point is, why didn't Dortmund pick him up before us? Maybe because he's just not that good, could be a very late developer.

Hopefully Rohl will come back in for him.

14 Aug 2026 07:35:26
Gvb - Agreed - I have seen milk turning quicker and I don't see any part of his make-up which will allow him to make it at Ibrox - another jersey filler at best - just one of many recent poor signings imho. 😞

14 Aug 2026 07:46:33
Our issues aren't because we didn't sign Dahl. It's because of the positions we filled and the ones we didn't. Letting our only RW go is poor timing, no alternative at LB, lack of options in CB, and very weak in LW. Dahl would have been a good signing IMO, but he wasn't going to transform this team.

Say what you want about Antman, and he wasn't exactly setting the house on fire, but we lost him and then went and got a RW, who then needed time to settle in. He's clearly not match fit, but we've no other option.

14 Aug 2026 07:51:13
Rohl must've had family members involved with Naderi's old club, a bit like Thelwell Snr's connections in England.

14 Aug 2026 07:54:32
Celtic will give us 6 easy.

14 Aug 2026 08:05:47
No point signing a 10 million pound striker when we can't create opportunities for him!

14 Aug 2026 08:27:39
Our midfield should have been Dahl, Ferguson and Dragojevic. Raskin sold 2, find the other 2, that's a solid midfield.

14 Aug 2026 08:28:23
No bodies in the box, no over loads and no movement to create space. Still scunnered!

14 Aug 2026 08:44:44
What's the latest with the boy Driouch from PSV?

14 Aug 2026 08:48:25
People bring up Ferguson again like, hey, honestly isn't that good & won't bring the creativity we need, he's the same as the midfielders we've got/signed. No point in buying wingers or creative players either when the manager doesn't allow them to be creative or drive into the box.

I would not be signing Kelsy for that money. Surely Beljo wouldn't cost that much more to get.

14 Aug 2026 09:32:45
Fan opinion is very split on Kelsy right now; they love him as he is on a hot streak, but he was pretty poor for them previously, mainly his movement and attitude were issues. (throwing hands up when things do not go his way.)

Interesting one, but ultimately, if we do not create, it won't make a difference.

14 Aug 2026 09:36:52
To be fair, Celtic have played two of the worst teams in the league. (Not including us haha).

Killie literally let them score a bunch of the goals, the keeper literally passed the ball to Nygren to score haha.

Nevermind our Hibs game with dodgy penalty.

Wait until Celtic play a decent team before the panic sets in.

Motherwell look like a decent team.

It's been 4 horrendous games, and McInnes has made some really bad decisions, but I reckon he gets until Christmas to turn it around.

Can't keep changing manager and squad every 4-6months.

14 Aug 2026 09:39:36
I'd rather Braga. Same price, no? Maybe he also unlocks Shankland and they hit the same form as last season. If not, there's got to be better strikers in more physical leagues for the same price. But the recruitment and scouts will know better than me, to be fair!

14 Aug 2026 09:41:30
At 5 points behind Celtic, this is the closest well will get to them this season. Watch this space.

14 Aug 2026 09:43:21
My biggest concern is the amount of money we are spending and the team is getting worse. Some of the blame lies with DM. Will there be another 5/6+ changes to starting 11 on Sunday, more head scratching subs at half time? He doesn't seem to have any idea how to get the best out of the team, and I do believe we have good players, but they're not getting chance to form any understandings on the pitch.

If we get beat on Sunday, I think atmosphere inside Ibrox will be worse than anything under Martin last year, and then the owners have another huge decision to make.
Sorry for rant, but like everyone else, I'm just so frustrated.

14 Aug 2026 10:10:54
My worry now is that we don't have the money to make these kinds of signings unless we sign the Moroccan lad now. I see there is indeed an injury that came up in the medical (Daily Record). I'd prefer permanent signings, but I really worry about these guys in recruitment; a loan with an option might be better, as I have little confidence.

We are still trying to offload a bloated squad. We desperately need some good news, as I want to be positive. Any chink of light would be good!

14 Aug 2026 10:15:24
The big fella is happy in the States, and his club doesn't want to sell, so why not move on to another potential striker.

14 Aug 2026 10:20:08
PSV winger not signing now.

14 Aug 2026 10:22:50
Driourech deal off!

14 Aug 2026 10:28:16
It's also said that Kelsy doesn't want to leave the MLS and Portland don't want to sell. Oh dear. 2 failures, again.

14 Aug 2026 10:31:03
Sorry, Lovenkrands, I disagree. Would this be the same recruitment & scouts that got us into this mess? I'd rather you did it than them, pal, you'd likely do a better job. Think we were all very optimistic in pre season, good names being banded about & they all passed us by.

This marquee signing still eludes us. We are worse than we were last season, & we are going to continue gifting teams goals & points unless something changes very, very quickly.

14 Aug 2026 10:28:06
Who ended that deal us or him?

14 Aug 2026 10:36:24
Something flagged up in his medical, deal off. I'm surprised we didn't sign him, injured. 🫣

14 Aug 2026 10:45:37
Mass, I know, mate, I'd have paid the 5m for Just when he was at Motherwell for a starter!

14 Aug 2026 11:03:40
It seems very clear that McInnes isn't happy with the team and options he has, and from many of his comments he has placed the blame at the recruitment department.

McCrorie - not good enough.
Pandur - jury is still out, but has done nothing.
Neil - not good enough.
Godfrey - should not have been signed.

RW is still open as Yokota hasn't really shown enough, LW doesn't have enough cover, LB is vacant, RB is vacant, not enough striker options with Chermiti out and none of the strikers are scoring.

CB is needing much more guile and strength, and from what we've seen, McInnes has no idea what his team or shape should be.

How about we stop dancing round the issue and sack Thelwell and Purdy now before it's too late.

14 Aug 2026 11:11:14
He probably pulled the plug himself after we got knocked out.

14 Aug 2026 11:23:45
As much as I think recruitment is at fault DM needs pointed at he's known for signing players he knows Devlin/Mcrorie doubt the recruitment team scoured the earth for those two.

Drago and Neil have had little time to really see how they are (Neil actually passes forward unlike Raskin 🤐)

Shankland imho fan signing to appease us after a horrible season.

Pandur decent.
Makhanya decent.
Yokota decent.

Let's not forget that Mcrorie was supposedly good enough last month on here. 😂

14 Aug 2026 12:30:59
I would go out and take some free model professionals to sort this team out. That's what we are missing. Who cares if they are 37 if they are winners.

14 Aug 2026 12:34:14
Main problem is signing too many players.

You can't sign so many every year and expect any success. Need quality over quantity.

14 Aug 2026 12:51:07
Hey Cal, got to disagree with the bit about Raskin. Although the only pass he has available is sideways or backwards, that is a lack of movement from others. He put some nice balls into the box yesterday, and is willing to get there himself.

Dan Neil did pass forward, and it was good to see, but Raskin also seeks out folk in front, and rarely do we have anyone available at the moment, with forward players slow to commit or make good runs.

14 Aug 2026 14:05:24
Tjm, Raskin is a massive culprit in how we play. Fans want to play blind to him. Yes, I do not disagree with you. Movement ahead is poor, but go rewatch the game (don't recommend it) and see how often Yokota gets visibly angry at Raskin decisions.
