Being reported Rangers are monitoring Hugo Siquet, RB at Club Bruges. Looks the part on YouTube.
10 Aug 2026 22:54:42
He looks class.
10 Aug 2026 22:56:27
With Sterling and McCrorie in the squad, I can't see us buying another right back at the moment. Maybe if Sterling leaves, but that would surprise me given his injury effort l record.
10 Aug 2026 23:03:59
More like it, hope this one is true.
Sell Sterling, sick note and reading between the lines, I think his attitude could be stinking. Also at fault for a lot of goals, but he gets a free pass from many for some reason.
10 Aug 2026 23:08:35
Think we will try for a new starting RB with McCrorie seen as backup, and Sterling more as 4th choice CB. Links with boy at Villa too, so would seem an area we are looking at.
10 Aug 2026 23:09:45
I think we will, because they can both be used in 3 or 4 different places, so they are utility men.
10 Aug 2026 23:26:13
Encouraging that we're getting away from the Championship jobbers.
10 Aug 2026 23:34:16
Yojimbo, Sterling will go to being backup cb, so McCrorie would be our only rb. This lad would be starter.
10 Aug 2026 23:43:01
He's a great player. Club Brugge are known for finding class talent. I'm sure, in their defence alone, they've got 4/5 young boys, all under 25, that are internationalists - Meijer, Seys, Sabbe, to name a few.
This is what we should be going for - young, internationalists, proven talent. And, although we didn't get Dahl, he was a step in the right direction. Good scouting from Rangers if this is true!
11 Aug 2026 00:15:16
The Serbian player at Villa would be good for Drago settling in.
11 Aug 2026 00:23:25
RFC, I'd be happy with that. Just surprised that's all. I'm not convinced about Sterling at center back. But then again I don't think I'm convinced about any of our center backs at the moment! A good right back coming in would be fine by me.
To be honest, I'd be open to selling Sterling and get in another starting CB too. But my gut feeling is we are going to try and nurse Godfrey through.
11 Aug 2026 00:47:36
Dunno anything about this lad but like what I'm reading. As for Sterling, lad is a player, but unfortunately will more than likely be forever plagued by injury and struggle to find any form/consistency. Pity.
11 Aug 2026 02:55:34
Sterling ain't good enough for CB, and he isn't the greatest right back, and injury prone, less said about McCrorie the better, we need a right back.
11 Aug 2026 03:20:13
Hugo Siquet is a very good footballer. Rommans/Penrice one side Siquet/Sterling the other. I'd be happy with that. There's 2 reasons why I think I'd like this more than the Serbian player. 1 is the Serb's injury history. And the 2nd is Siquet is 24 and has a bit more experience, but is still young.
Hopefully the PSV guy comes for his medical today. Whilst at the same time trying to get Penrice and Siquet over the line. Obviously they spoke about another wide right option and CB.
And if Chermiti's injury is serious, then I'd loan the best forward I could. Probably a position of / I'm missing, but it would be a good step in the correct direction for me.
Obviously my comment is based on an assumption that we are definitely interested in Siquet. I've got no idea if it's true. But does sound plausible.
Then it's up to DM to make them a team. A proper cohesive team.
11 Aug 2026 06:14:42
I also liked the look of Bryan Reynolds, the American right back we were heavily linked with a month or so ago, but I think he's signed for Rennes now. ☹️
11 Aug 2026 06:48:16
According to RR, we have moved a RB up the priority list as DM has used 4 players at RB in 3 games. Siquet and Nedeljkovic are being looked at as we will possibly move Sterling into CB as an option.
An LB is also being looked for and Penrice is the most likely as it stands.
We will go for another RW to challenge Yokota, as both Gassama and Curtis are seen as LW, with Driouech expected to be the starting LW.
Other incomings will depend on outgoings, especially what happens with Raskin and then Chermiti's injury and Miovski staying or going.
11 Aug 2026 06:49:17
Why would Penrice come to us, if Rommens is considered as starting LB (have my doubts about him), he is not coming to sit on bench.
Don't know anything about RB mentioned, but we need someone. Sterling can't be relied upon.
& McCronie is just not good enough. Waste of a fee buying him.
11 Aug 2026 07:08:25
What's your issue with Rommens, Jasp? For me, he's the one consistent performer we've got, and probably the most reliable creative outlet too. Not having a go, we're not winning games, but I'd hope you had an issue with the rest of the team at that. I think we'd be more than comfortable if everyone was as good as him.
11 Aug 2026 07:25:18
We need a manager and a defensive coach, who can teach our defence about ball watching and teach them to be aware of what's going on around them, especially Fernandez. He thinks he's another Franc Beckenbaur, he's maybe good at corners for us and good at playing with the ball at his feet, but everybody's Hearts are in their mouths waiting for a blunder.
He's poor at defending, he's never a Gough, we badly need at least 2 cb, there's no use having 70-80% of the ball against Hibs and United, and them scoring 2 goals.
11 Aug 2026 07:29:18
Rommens and Driouech sound like a good left side to me. Penrice will get plenty minutes too.
11 Aug 2026 07:33:02
Sterling can go now, he was decent, but now, especially end of last season, he was involved in us losing a lot of goals. Not the player he was now.
11 Aug 2026 07:57:39
The business done early, Shankland, Mcrorie, even Devlin to an extent, are reliable players who can play several positions, and bring knowledge of Scottish football. Creating foundations. Then, in phase 2, you introduce players to that environment, such as Dragovic and Yokoto. We will bring in a Rb to start and we have Mcrorie and Sterling to cover several positions.
