Move on re Aasgaard,
20 Jul 2026 16:58:54
Great info, John.
20 Jul 2026 16:59:40
Hopefully make a decent bit of profit on him, John. He shows bits of class, but doesn't do enough for me. Good luck to him.
20 Jul 2026 17:03:13
Is he not wanted?
20 Jul 2026 17:15:00
Interesting that he cut his holiday short, first day back, and this comes out today.
20 Jul 2026 17:16:44
If we get profit I'd be moving him on pronto. Has quality, but not the other attributes that we buy into.
20 Jul 2026 17:22:46
Gazza, I'd be surprised if he's wanted tbh. The lad has ability but lacks game intelligence, work rate and determination. So much so that, when we are out of possession we'd be as well playing with 10 men.
That said, I did think he improved towards the end of the season and would have been happy to keep him another year to see if he was able to kick in under DM, who I think would have really driven that side of the game to him.
20 Jul 2026 17:23:26
Maybe the World Cup does us a favour when it comes to a fee.
20 Jul 2026 17:23:38
I heard it was Atlanta that were in for him with a pretty decent offer.
Could be a goer this one.
20 Jul 2026 17:24:47
I watched a thing the other day and apparently there's a 16 euros interest in him.
Remember euros.
20 Jul 2026 17:32:01
That's £13.61, Stevie. I take it it's 16million.
20 Jul 2026 17:33:02
Big blue, it could be massive profit, I think he has 10% sell on.
Jim, yes re Atalanta, Stevie, that's about correct re value.
20 Jul 2026 17:33:48
Great bit of business if true. Great money for him.
20 Jul 2026 17:47:27
Would like Aasgaard staying, but if that's the type of fee, that buys both Dragojevic and Dahl. Very good business if it happens, will also let over players we're interested in know Rangers is a good move.
20 Jul 2026 17:52:29
#Other players.
20 Jul 2026 18:03:33
My star, if we get offered around that, we can't say no.
20 Jul 2026 18:05:59
If there's any truth in this, then we need to take the deal. We have to consistently sell players for these kinds of fees to improve our finances, and if we can regularly send players to a top 5 league, then we will be a more enticing club for new players.
20 Jul 2026 18:06:33
That's a good fee for someone who I rate, but hasn't done much in all honesty.
I'd like to see him stay, but if not fancied, take the £14 million huge profit. 👏
20 Jul 2026 18:19:24
I honestly don't think that's expensive for him in the current climate. He'll do very well in Italy. Kinda gutted he isn't staying, as many have said we need to make money.
20 Jul 2026 18:26:41
Is this not part of player trading, buy low, improve and sell on? Shame we can't shift Danilo or Cortez.
20 Jul 2026 18:31:24
John, thanks for confirming that mate. 👍🏻
I actually chose not to post that in case it just got shot down as it sounds a bit high. Glad u have heard same.
That's about £10m profit, guys.
Probably owe 20% sell on as is the norm now. So, 13.6 minus 2.7, I think that is 11.9. Sterling means just under £9m profit.
Can't be sniffed at. That's a great business.
20 Jul 2026 18:33:21
Although he was more cold than hot, last year, he must have something to get into a decent Norway squad??
Maybe the old 'can't cope with Scottish football' syndrome. 😉😉
20 Jul 2026 18:34:19
Just seen John saying sell on is 10% so £1m 360k to Luton and £10.5m profit x.
20 Jul 2026 18:42:37
Teddy, they weren't signed under new ownership.
20 Jul 2026 18:45:18
Remember it will be a percentage of the profit not of the total fee we get.
20 Jul 2026 19:09:16
Brilliant business by the club then, John, if he does indeed move on.
20 Jul 2026 19:40:27
Asgaard definitely has ability but in the right system, I'm not sure it's going to be ours that will get the best of him, if we can get anywhere near 12-15 million and swap him for Drago and Dahl I'd be delighted with that.
20 Jul 2026 19:46:45
Doesn't have the heart, or the ability to play for Rangers.
20 Jul 2026 19:50:48
There's a player in there but hasn't shown it enough when it matters. I do quite like him, however. That fee is a good return for us if true.
20 Jul 2026 20:03:18
Does the player not get 5% of the fee also? And agents too, we won't make as much as said on here, it will still be very good profit tho.
20 Jul 2026 20:43:56
So, if we sell all those players for these fees, are we really saying we won't be making big signings? Or are we happy with what we have, plus Dahl and a couple more £3m/£4m players, and make a huge operating profit?
20 Jul 2026 22:09:06
Storm, that's the same for all transfers, agents always want to move players around. Aasgaard gets 5% if he has not asked for a transfer, another 5% is divided between all his previous clubs.
21 Jul 2026 02:02:48
Ooft, so hope this is true, but can't see it. Italians have a history of under offering just like French.
21 Jul 2026 06:39:09
If we shift, say, Raskin, Aasgaard, Diomande, Souttar, Bargami, Barron, for fees that have been speculated, we could bring in roughly 50m, so even if we spent half of that it would be great business for club, plus a wee run in Europe would certainly put club on better financial footing.
Then next season, if we delieve all the hype, we can sell Fernandez, Dale, Gassama for about 70m. Happy Days. (Then I woke up. 😀)
21 Jul 2026 08:19:38
16 million Euros for Aasgaard? Can't be real, it just can't be.
21 Jul 2026 11:32:09
I don't believe there is a sell on. We trigger his relegation release clause when we signed him.
21 Jul 2026 12:09:27
Stat-wise, he still did have a good return, and, considering his start to the season was hampered, I'm kinda in mystar camp. Wouldn't mind seeing what he could do with proper preseason and a good run in the team, but if we are getting anything north of 5million I'd take it lol. If it's north of 10, wow, running around the room happy.
But, boy, does he have talent, and the Italian league could suit him down to a t.
Would also like to see him tried as a forward. Good touch, can hold the ball up, big lad, good finish, good in the air, has all qualities to switch, maybe not our league though.
