Athens want to break even on what they paid including his wages, Rangers are only looking to match what they paid. Loan with obligation possible but they want a higher fee in that case so still negotiating a fee for this summer.

Rommens so far has had injury issues, he's also one we will look to make a tidy sum on when he goes. Penrice will play and will also be there when Rommens goes, to keep continuity and very little drop off in quality while we bring in another prospect. No doubt good signing if it happens.

Having Rommens and Penrice would be a coup imo. We don't have to flog either every week, and I think Rommens is a good enough footballer to play in front of a LB if we're short on numbers.

We really need players challenging for positions throughout the whole squad, it absolutely brings out the best in everyone. Training would go up a notch, effort would raise. It's something we've not had for a long, long time. Too many players at our club knew they would start week in, week out regardless of their form etc. That's not good at any football club.

Was posted on here that we received a couple of bids under 1M for Sterling and was looking for offers of around 1M.
I'd like, and it's only my opinion, for us to go for Nathan Patterson at RB. He's in last year of his deal at Everton, who are nearing a deal for a new RB.
I would then sell Sterling and bring in McCrorie to challenge Patterson and also be that squad utility player to fill a few positions like Sterling can.
For me, that would give us great options on both full back positions and boost the home grown quota for Europe.

Patterson is made of glass. We can't replace Sterling with someone who falls apart in the same way constantly. We need players who can play most, if not the whole, of a season.

McCrorie is doable and would be a good signing. Can sit in midfield as well, so gives us options. Penrice would be another good acquisition. Always liked that lad. Definitely need more Scots in the squad. Tired of watching walkovers week after week, who clearly aren't up to rising to the challenge week in, week out.

I don't think Rommens is technically that good and is probably why we are moving for Penrice. A modern day athlete, yes, but technically nowhere near as good as Penrice for me. Good balance of the 3.

Like I said, just my opinion.
KT across the city was made of glass at Arsenal, and seems to have survived ok with minutes managed.
Patterson, McCrorie, and the young lad coming through at RB, can't remember his name, would be a fantastic option for the upcoming season.

I'm with you on James Penrice storm. ? I said and wanted us to sign Penrice when he played for Livingston, and then when he was leaving Hearts, so I really do hope we get Penrice signed at last. ? Rommens, I rate as a left back, Fraserwiliam, but Penrice also a really good left back and not a lot between them imo.
? To say Penrice is nowhere near the calibre of Rommens, I would suggest that it's your good self that needs to curtail/lay off the whacky baccy, my friend. ?

Correct, BigDado. Penrice is a good left back, mate, absolutely no doubt for me, and like I said, not a lot between Rommens and Penrice for me, and Penrice not as injury prone. ? I rate both Rommens and Penrice. ? ??

Penrice is a good player, but I remember some Hearts people know saying he was a bit lightweight? for a full back.

Good point, Coully. Also, he would know he's a definite pick for Euro squad, but will he really want to give up a chance of playing in Champions League? I'm not so sure.
