I keep saying I want to take a break until the end of the season but in a rare turn of events I have heard rumours from a 'potentially' good source but as always please take a pinch of salt, I could be completely wrong.
Allegedly Hampus Skoglund has been agreed, pretty much awaiting us to confirm. Hjerto-Dahl while still not definitely out of the question it looks like we are in the track to missing out on him (my understanding is unless we secure at least second we won't be getting him)
Travassos is one we are apparently still in talks with (him and Skoglund seem not to be mutually exclusive)
There seems to be excitement around a young South American winger who was described as (like Moore but a fair bit quicker). Wasn't given a name (all other names I was given I promoted enquiry on.
Of the domestic market Elijah Just seems to be the prevailing target from Motherwell.
Luke Graham is in initial talks but I'm unsure if we're his first choice. I was told we don't look like approaching Milne formally.
The academy also seems to be the big emphasis of our Scottish/homegrown players (lots of academy players seem to be on track to get squad positions)
Anyway long post that could of course be wrong but I rarely get rumours so thought I'd share it.

I'd rather have Cantwell than any of the supposed attacking midfielders / wingers that we currently own. He is miles better than the likes of Aasgaard.

I fear another summer of upheaval. I get we need to make changes, but we will go into another season with effectively another unproven squad under pressure from the get go. The cycle of pain will continue.
We need brave and consistent management to get us there. We need to stop flip flopping our way forward and ignore the noise.

You have summed up the problem well - both are nowhere near the required standard, yet you, and loads like you, get sucked in by the patter merchants who kiss the badge and start a wee handbags argument now and again, and typically perform when it doesn't matter.
That's one of a hundred reasons we have this current s*** show!!

If someone is willing to pay £10 million for Raskin, then we should take it and run - he's flattered to deceive more often than not apart from a 6 month spell last season.

Can't tell much about the players incoming, but flooding the team with Scandinavian players would be a bad idea. The further we get from understanding what Rangers are as a club, the further the way back is.
The transfers lined up in the Summer (for pennies), who understood Scottish football and the club, are who we need to find.

Albertz93, can you name the players we can get for "pennies" in Scotland? Just genuinely curious, aside from Luke Graham, who multiple Championship clubs are chasing, who are valuing him at 2 mill and will provide more wages.

BUT can definitely back you up with the youth team stuff you where talking about as I have spoken to a few within Rangers who are saying it's a really strong group we have atm and a we will definitely start to see the youth being given proper chances with the squad.

John, is it true he has a EUR12m buy out clause?
If so, we should offer a new deal with a boumsomg type incentive for him.
Say 10% of fee for him and a £25m buy out.
I'd keep him next season if that's his buyout, as he's worth £20m easily. He's a Belgian international, for God's sake, and his peers are all worth £40m plus.

Thanks for the info, Dio, we can certainly use some good news at the minute.
Although we will definitely require a large turnover during the summer and Raskin is one I would like to keep for continuity, as I believe Dio will go, I do think we should cash in while his stock is relatively high.
I know we have been saying this for a few seasons now, but I genuinely believe this is a make it break summer for our club.
We cannot argue that Celtic have been very poor this season, and we still could not take advantage.
They will definitely be a lot stronger next season.
I also think that if Hearts win the league they will only get better, so next season will be tough.
I will still back Rohl as, in my opinion, he deserves the time to see what he can do with his own squad and we can't keep up this merry go round of sacking manager around November time, so another full season, and let's see where we are.
