I've been told James Penrice is close to joining on loan with an option to buy and could be here before the Celtic game.
Tuur Rommens is one we're looking at for the summer as an alternative to Meghoma as we're likely to be priced out of a permanent move by Brentford.

I don't want Meghoma he's too lightweight and too weak defensively, not overly creative in attack either btw, poor numbers
Meghoma reminds me a lot of jefte.
I'd take penrice now loan eith option and then sign the Belgian lad as well in summer and go with those 2 as our left backs.
Over the moon with that.

Meghoma is way too light weight, yes he is young and that could change but Penrice and Rommens would be preferable for me.

SWS I get you'd be buzzing if we signed Penrice (maybe you know him), but I don't understand the hype. He's very average. Good left foot though. No more than average let's be honest. People are getting carried away because we're all talking about domestic signings now.
When really, take a step back and actually think about it. He'd be a squad player at best and we can do so much better. If he came in to compete with a first choice left back with better quality then I'd be happy, but not as first choice.

Meghoma will be a belter of a player. Another Tillman in the eyes of some fans not good enough, doesn't get stuck in etc. look at Tillman now, a €30m player.

Not getting stuck in is a wee bit more of a problem for a left back than it is for an attacking midfield player like Tillman. There is no question that at the moment Meghoma is a bit of a lightweight and got rag dolled on Saturday. He is a good footballer though but I'm not sure we should be paying Brentford £ 5million for him even if they were prepared to sell.
If the price was a good bit lower he would be worth keeping and developing but paying that kind of money for a project player is just repeating the mistakes of the last window.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, which is absolutely fine, but to think Penrice would be Rangers' FIRST CHOICE left back (in big games and Europe included), is mental!
If he wasn't Scottish, no one would be talking about him. At the age of 27, he's not really going to get better.
He's not a kid. At this moment in time, he's never even been spoken about playing for Scotland either. Doesn't matter if Robertson and Tierney are left backs either. Penrice is also behind Taylor and Doig. My point is we can do so much better than him for a first choice left back.

Think people are forgetting how bad Jefte was sure he only had 3 assists in a season and a half, baffles me why people rated him.
Only decent thing Thelwell did was getting decent money for him.

Chas absolutely mate respect should always be visible when disagreeing. It can be very hard to do so in writing though, easier in person.
I always feel u can't quite tell someone's tone in writing. So sarcasm and so on doesn't come across and when writing this I can forget it.

Tillmans talent was there first all to see but because he had a 'relaxed' style a few gave him pelters. Meghoma is average imo and very much needs to learn the position. Again modern FB better going forward than defending. To often takes the safe option and doesn't offer enough going forward. Least said about his defending the better.

Thanks to Koppen who apparently had both Igamane and Jefte lined up as future signings for PSV prior to moving over to Rangers.
