Don't like being the bearer of bad news but allegedly there is already a deal in place with Brentford for the sale of Raskin and Marseille for the sale of Igamane. Combined fees of just over £20m with add ons and sell on clause. Also heard at least 6 deals already done for incoming players. Hopefully they will be of the standard to replace the aforementioned.
06 Jun 2025 10:21:54
Del this isn't bad news. This is how the club should operate. £20m minimum plus add one for 2 players we signed for a combined £3-£4m? Not bad at all for a team that was so awful last season. In an ideal world we would keep our best players and they 2 and Cerny certainly are but if we want to see a complete overhaul then player sale money has to be brought in on top of what the new owners give us to spend.
06 Jun 2025 10:28:16
Should be looking for £20m for Raskin alone never mind both.
06 Jun 2025 10:28:36
Think for our player trading model to start there has to be no room for sentiment.
06 Jun 2025 10:36:11
Not the fees I would expect if that's the case need very good sell ons for both, if that's the clubs they go to, can see them moving on again relatively soon.
06 Jun 2025 10:38:10
£20 million is to low imo igga should be £7-8 million and rankin £17-20million they payed £11 million for Arne Engels Raskin is a much better player.
06 Jun 2025 10:40:10
I can't see both going for £20m
Raskin is a Belgium international and Igamane a Moroccan international so it should be around £30m for both.
06 Jun 2025 10:41:12
Del
It's always been my Thoughts that Raskin and Igamane would go this summer and it would be a way for us to help fund new incoming players and I've rumoured that for a while now given how our FFP is
What I didn't expect was both Igamane and Raskin possibly leaving for 20 million as a pair
I would have expected around 15 million at least for Raskin
And would have liked to have hoped we could have managed 10 million for Igamane
But 20,million for losing 2 talented players is really disheartening if that happens.
But definitely both sales will help fund our transfers this summer has always been my thoughts
Does EHL have any further info on this rumour?
06 Jun 2025 10:49:11
Yes stingo, I thought we had lost you for a while, don't you be going anywhere mate, I'm keeping Igamane for next season.
06 Jun 2025 10:59:30
Del, it wouldn't be bad news as that is the way the club has to go. Been saying it for years, even back when Ally was in charge, we have to improve our recruitment and we are a selling club. Considering the flak both took at stages last season, £20m would not be a bad return. Igamane is far from the finished article, just need good sell on deals. The more we can get the better, of course.
06 Jun 2025 11:05:52
Our model, and the realities of football, are that our best players will move on to other clubs now. We have to live with that and do our best to maximise the benefit we get from them 1. when they're here - in terms of performances; and 2. when they leave - in terms of fees.
£20m combined for those two players shouldn't be enough though. If we're in a stable financial situation and don't need to sell I think that realistically we should be looking for 25-50% more than that. Ultimately our fee income has to reflect the fact that not all our signings will make it, and selling folk at a premium will allow us to make an overall profit after taking in to account the bajramis and proppers who we don't make money on.
Then again, I suppose a player is only worth what someone will pay, and we've been bitten badly in the past by not moving on the likes of Morelos when there was opportuity to do so.
06 Jun 2025 11:16:19
Stig, can't chat about transfers - but have said a number of times I think we were verging on Dembele Dollar territory with the valuation of our players.
06 Jun 2025 11:35:42
Realistically 12-15 for tasking 8-10 for igamane do its in the low end of both but we ain't getting 20 million for Raskin Imo.
06 Jun 2025 11:25:39
If sold fine. I'm not so sure about this though.
The money mentioned is a pittance!
06 Jun 2025 11:44:29
10m each with a decent sell on would be a great deal for us considering what we paid. We have to start making good cash and reinvesting to catch that mob. Would ideally like to keep both, but cash talks. Simple as that!
06 Jun 2025 11:50:16
Let's be honest here no one knows anything of what's going on at Rangers everything is being kept close to the chest from the club.
06 Jun 2025 11:52:33
I'd be hoping for closer to the £25m for the two but makes sense sadly. But if we're to keep on talking about player trading model, we can't complain when we do sell. Looking at Pizarro and Metinho possibly indicates this is the case.
06 Jun 2025 11:52:57
I'd guess Rangers would sacrifice a few Million for big sell ons both players have high cellings imo.
06 Jun 2025 11:54:28
Realistically we're getting Max 15 mill for Raskin. Igamane I'd be disappointed in losing this early into his Rangers career.
However we need to start selling assets consistently the more we can sell to better leagues more interesting we become to young foreign players and in time increased fees when we are established at development.
06 Jun 2025 11:59:19
Igamane isn't going anywhere. Raskin probably will on the other hand.
06 Jun 2025 12:07:42
I suppose this is the time for rumours. The new director and manager are just in the door and they are about to sell both assets…. don't think so. Possible one a season but not half a first team!
06 Jun 2025 12:19:29
Anyone that thinks we are getting less than 20 million for a Belgian international midfielder under the age of 25 are kidding themselves on, we should absolutely be looking for Bassey type money here, if not more.
06 Jun 2025 12:32:45
I have no doubts that those figures quoted are bids however the club will take the highest price not the first price.
06 Jun 2025 12:35:31
20 million combined would really dishearten me. I'd want closer to 25 for the both, with Raskin going for upwards of 17+ sell on and Igamane about 8million ish - which I feels fair.
06 Jun 2025 12:37:11
Thanks My star
Your words are appreciated ?.
06 Jun 2025 12:43:00
Stoozie is agree
Depends what clubs willing to offer and what club willing to accept
All we can do is hope we can get the best deal for the club
Sorry EHl forgot you now can't mention certain things ?
Hopefully who ever does go any of our players the club are getting the best value
Looking forward to seeing who we bring in and how the team looks and performs through the 1st few months of the season starting.
06 Jun 2025 12:48:07
It's too early to sell Igamane his value is only going to increase.
06 Jun 2025 12:50:25
It's irrelevant what we bought them for . It's what they are valued now. We are great at undervaluing our players. If they are interested they deem them good enough to play in their league so pay the money. If we do sell massive sell on . If Raskin signs an extension the ball is in our court.
06 Jun 2025 12:57:34
Get what urnsaying ehl but Celtic value there players with dembele dollars but actually get what they want for them. 25mill for o reilly etc. want 20 mill for engels. Raskin better all rounder than engels.
06 Jun 2025 13:01:31
Raskin has played 2 internationals, one as sub and Igamane 1 so they are just really fledgling internationals. using Engels as a gauge isn't particularly useful; how about Tielemans as he is a Belgian international ?. we need to be realistic in the fees we seek as that is what stopped us selling Morelos in the past and that includes sell ons. we got both for around £3.5M and if we get £20M then we reinvest some of it to replace them and make a similar profit on the next batch. as EHL says we won't get Dembele dollars for any of our team atm.
06 Jun 2025 13:01:51
I would have thought that having the new owners money behind us means that we are not desperate to sell and can hold out for a proper fee for anybody we sell . Look at the other mob there is no way O'Reilly was worth £25million, as he has since proved, but they just kept saying no and the price went up.
I don't understand the FFP stuff either, my understanding is there is no FFP in Scotland and if we breach UEFA rules there could be a £5million fine two seasons from now. That would be well worth it if we can get into the CL for a couple of seasons.
We also have a major rebuild to do and selling the two players that are worth keeping seems a bit counter productive to me .
06 Jun 2025 13:14:04
Correct Stoozie pathetic figures.
These figures also undersell our brand!
Awful awful awful.
Whether you agree or not! That's irrelevant, current market for Raskin we should be looking @ 20m!
06 Jun 2025 13:39:57
I just feel we undersell our players big time these days. Could you imagine if Raskin was playing for a side like Fulham for example they would be demanding silly money and albeit its in a better league than ours he would be leaving there without any European experience, that's a bonus we have when selling. Worth noting Raskin has captain the side as well, that still carries some weight.
06 Jun 2025 13:52:07
The clubs player trading model will surely improve as over the years we have let players leave who were OOC, or at a loss.
No doubt this will change under our new ownership.
Raskin £20m, and Igamane £15m if they were to be sold.
I.
06 Jun 2025 14:15:25
Stoozie if he was playing for Fulham they would see him play every week against other EPL players and teams. they then know he can play at that level guaranteed. Raskin is seen against SPL teams and occasionally against European teams. no guarantees of success at EPL level so price would be lower IMO.
06 Jun 2025 15:18:41
Engels cost 11m he can't even get in National team. They keep touting him at £25m! He's gash!
Anything less than £11m IS A FRICKEN SCANDAL! And laughable.
06 Jun 2025 15:18:42
There's more than a few dreamers on here. Get real guys, lower your expectations or you'll be disappointed.
06 Jun 2025 15:58:30
I was fed up with Dembele dollars anyway we will soon change to Engel Euros ?.
