Here's a good question for you all, of all the matches you have been to or watched on the TV, what is the greatest Rangers game you have ever watched or been to?
I'll start. For me it'll have to be beating RB Leipzig 3-1 to get to the Europa League final, just the greatest that was for me.

In modern times. Take your pick of the Europa run to the final games (I'll never forgive Ramsay)
Dortmund games stand out for me
Or any game we beat that mob 🤣🤣.

You'll never forgive ramsay that's a big bit harsh he had the balls to step up to take penalty plenty of better more established penalty takers have missed penalties so give the guy a break.

Rangers 5-1 against Celtic, especially when Celtic scored 1st.
11 Sep 2026 10:00:14
Dynamo Kiev back in 1987 what an atmosphere.
11 Sep 2026 10:14:22
Ramsay should not have been put on the field in my opinion.

hard to pick one but the centenary cup final when tam forsyth scored with his studs stays in the memory and the first ever SPL when stein scored to win us the league at easter rd. and stopped the dark side in 10 in a row.

Helicopter sunday for me the emotions at that game, so low to so high was unbelievable.

First game.
1978 against Partick Thistle.
What I can remember, it was a dull 0-0.
But I fell in love with the full experience.
The supporters bus journey, the stadium etc.

My username may give a hint to my own choice.
Plenty of games to choose from over the years, but the stand out for me as far as sheer elation at the final whistle, the magnitude of the result, and what it meant to the club back then. The memory of the 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at Ibrox en route to Barca72 still has me filled with pride to this day.
This was a Bayern team that would soon go on to win 3 European cups in a row and practically made up the West German national team that would lift the '74 World Cup in Munich.
The bonus was that the Eastenders were getting knocked out of their own semi final that same night. Dixie Deans' ball from his missed penalty is apparently still orbiting the Earth to this day
🔴⚽🔵👍.

Baxterboy, we beat them 5-1, 4-1 at Ibrox and 3-1 at Celtic park, all in that same season mate 👌🇬🇧.

Leeds home and away, and the recent run to the European final. I picked the dortmund game as I had seen them in 96 I think, no other reason. Atmosphere was electric, but the leipzig game looked better.
Am at the Coleraine vs Ballymena later, should be a good atmosphere as well, local derby game, no love lost and Coleraine are flying just now. Might just rival my above statement lol.

Agree Parlane was my second ever game at Ibrox as a 13 year old. Crowd of 80,000 and we played Bayern off the park. Sandy Jardine floater in 2 minutes and your namesake crashing one in off the underside of the bar.
Alternative version of Amazing Grace rang all round Ibrox that night.

I was on the old Centenary Stand th night we beat Juventus 2-1, Gordon Smith scored the winner.
11 Sep 2026 13:17:43
First game. Rangers v Third Lanark. It all started there.
11 Sep 2026 13:32:28
The League Cup Final against Celtic when the 16 year old DJ scored the winner with a header, which ended 4 trophy less years. I now have an old black and white photo up on my wall.
At Ibrox its got to be the ECWC Semi Final against Bayern Munich, what an atmosphere. Sandys first minute left foot goal and then a second from a young Derek Parlane, the shock replacement for John Greig in midfield.
Colin Stein running Beckenbauer ragged, the Germans all arguing amongst themselves, Bud Johnston sitting on the ball and the imperious Davie Smith sweeping at the back. Magnificent and I'll never forget it.
11 Sep 2026 13:34:12
Skol cup final 1987 where after a 3-3 draw we beat an excellent Aberdeen team on penalties. I was only 10 and spent the whole game sat on the terracing handrail with my big cousin at my back. The game had everything including one of the best goals I've ever seen in Davie Cooper's free kick.

1991 Rangers beat Aberdeen on final game of the season to win the league. I'm in the East Enclosure standing on one of the barriers at full time. Epic. Even appeared on the end of season video ✌️. 15 mins of fame.
That or the Leeds United Battle of Britain game at Elland Road. Those two goals are up their with my Rangers favourites of all time. 💙.

Irvger i was at that juventus game with my dad mate 👍We lost 1-0 in turin and beat the mighty juve 2-0 at Ibrox and they had most of the italian national team players playing for them 🤔We then went on to beat psv eindhoven and lost to FC Cologne in the quarter finals ☹️.

@macdoj2 and wslgers4ever,
You pair have me grinning like the prevebial Cheshire Cat. Wonderful memories. I can remember the haze when Parlane scored, and my Father, and his brother, grabbing as many bunnets/tammies out the air as they made their way back to the rightful owners before being diverted to the ole man's jacket pockets! 🤣
Loving all these posts. Cheers folks.
🔴⚽🔵👍.

I have great memories of the Parma game at Ibrox, that atmosphere always stuck with me, the leipzig game is the only to come close to or better it for me.
11 Sep 2026 14:39:44
Yip " Parlane, 2 nil v Bayern.
Also Eindhoven 78/79 season.
They had never been beaten at home in Europe.
John McDonald, big DJ and the legend that was Bobby Russell.
All heroes to me, I rem my ol pal Kenny Watson shot from outside the box and DJ ducked and got a slight touch on the ball, then who would ever forget wee Tam McLean sending Bobby clear to create history in front of UK soldiers.
Derek Parlane was booked in that game.

4-2 at parkhead New Year's Day game up 2-0 after 3 mins, Celtic fans were in turmoil and the atmosphere was something special.
11 Sep 2026 15:37:09
Leipzig is easily the best atmosphere I've ever heard at Ibrox so i'd go for that one with Leeds 2nd and my first Old Firm game, the 2-2 draw when butcher, Woods and mcavennie were sent off in 3rd.
11 Sep 2026 17:13:58
TomThumb , it was Alex McDonald not John McDonald who scored against PSV .
11 Sep 2026 17:57:51
Thought it was 2-0 against Juventus Irvine ger , brother went to game I was not allowed , got me a half and half pennant only half and half I ever got and had it for years , could be wrong about result tho
