They say that Shankland is good in the dressing room, but I am not a fan of him being captain of us on the park.
I am yet to see what he brings to our game, he has been posted missing in nearly every game for Scotland/Rangers, we got him at least two years late!

Shankland just about scored a very good header in the Hibs game, many cf's wouldn't even have got it on target.

We currently lack creativity all over the park. I'm hoping the club will possibly sign a striker with pace that can compliment Shankland's movement.

Think he has played about 190 minutes for Rangers, if we are judging everyone on the 1st 190 minutes they play for us, then I can see why this place is constantly up in arms.

Give him a chance. If we start making chance after chance for him and he ain't doing it, then have this conversation. Think he will score plenty once we get our house in order, tho.

To the Op, we can't be judging him just yet as the service to him has been poor, but I agree am not a fan of a striker being captain unless they are hugely influential on the park.

Shankland is a disgrace of a professional and allowing someone like him to be our leader on the pitch is a sad indictment of how far we have sunk. To see players in their late 30s and 40s in better shape than him makes me sick.
The example he sets to every player at the club is it's ok to come in 2/3 stone overweight.
Over the next 3 seasons I'm willing to bet he will have less goal contributions than Tav over his last 3 seasons.

This is why we've signed well over 20 players in a year, 90 minutes, not good enough, 190 minutes, not good enough, maybe have a bit of patience instead of constantly rebuilding a squad every year and sacking managers and winning nothing.

Seems like today is my day for hitting back at nobsensical posts! Big Jorg seems to think Shankland is two or three stone overweight. Honestly, don't even know how to start with that. The man is a professional athlete, not some part timer who plays for a pub team.
He spent the summer training at the World Cup and came back to do pre season. When did he get two or three stone overweight? That's nothing short of ludicrous and an unrequired slur on our player and captain.

Shankland isn't carrying any more weight than when he was at Hearts and if he was overweight we signed him anyway. This is a typical Rangers fan thing, we got the same thing with Morelos, Souttar and countless others.
